Nothing in my life is really mine. I take care of my mama, work three jobs, I’m there when anyone needs me. Something about the beautiful, lonely man on my mail route interests me. He’s different in my world, where everything’s the same. I think he hates me, but that doesn’t stop me from hand-delivering every package and trying to find ways to make him smile. Nicolae is a smug, arrogant alpha male stereotype - and I do mean alpha in the literal sense - but when the same people who killed my wife kidnap my teenage daughter, he's my only chance at getting her back. The fact that Nicolae was my wife's rightful mate means that we share a mutual interest in bringing Ellie home.

You belong to me and I know it down deep, in muscle and bone, where my wolf lives. Avery Rhine isn’t an average homicide detective with the Chicago PD. In fact, Avery isn’t an average anything. Sure, as an omega he knows he’s at the bottom of the food chain, but that’s never slowed him down. Publisher's Summary
Gordo Livingstone never forgot the lessons carved into his skin. Hardened by the betrayal of a pack who left him behind, he sought solace in the garage in his tiny mountain town, vowing never again to involve himself in the affairs of wolves.
It should have been enough.
And it was, until the wolves came back, and with them, Mark Bennett. In the end, they faced the beast together as a pack...and won.
Now, a year later, Gordo has found himself once again the witch of the Bennett pack. Green Creek has settled after the death of Richard Collins, and Gordo constantly struggles to ignore Mark and the song that howls between them.
But time is running out. Something is coming. And this time, it’s crawling from within.
Some bonds, no matter how strong, were made to be broken.

As good as it gets
Just finished listening to Ravensong and was not disappointed. Will begin my second listen in a few hours. As this is a long book and I'm impatient, I listened the first time with no breaks. I did fall asleep as it is long but having read the book I was able to pick up the storyline easily. This next time I will take breaks when feeling tired. TJ Klune captures the characters of this world and is true and consistent with each one. He spends a remarkable story of friend, family, and why you should surround yourself with your own made family either by relation of blood or by bond. Kirt Graves is one of my favorite narrators. I have listen to all the books he has graced us with his voice. When TJ completes the 3rd book I hope he sticks with Kirt as the narrator. It would be a shame and disservice to his fans if he doesn't. I'm not a believer in rehashing the story beyond the editors notes and sometimes it does the book a disadvantage in doing so. My recommendation is to read the books in order beginning with Wolfsong then Ravensong. Then listen to both.

Good but...
Alright, I have to say any points knocked off was because of the author's ×3 fetish. essentially, the "I/He/She/They said '-insert emotional repetitive phrase here' " thing along with the word×3 thing. It IS a very successful technique but the author over-uses it both here and in other series and that dilutes the impact. I DO like it but it is seriously overused to the point of being essentially the only reason stars were lost. The story is excellent and unique, the reading is excellent, but the overuse of dramatic technique has broken me enough to leave a review about it. On the plus side it seems to overuse the technique less than the previous book, but seriously. The author needs to edit their repetitive dramatics because those don't work nearly as well once they become tedious and happen approximately once every 30 minutes.

Why? Take the hand?
TJ why? Why take the hand? Once I heard that part I felt like giving up on the rest of the book. You could've had the knife hit any other part. You even wrote that he over shot in grabbing the wrist. Hell it could've went thru the forearm or even something else. But no you took his dang hand. I love the rest of your books. But that one part ruined this book for me and even the next ones. Cause the person you took the hand of needs it for what they do. Personally and professionally and even for what they do within the pack. I know you probably never will ever read this since the books been out for awhile or you never read reviews about your own works. Maybe just maybe you'll see this and decide to explain.

OMG
let me start by saying I will routinely “rate” audible books by giving my stars, but there is only one other narrator I HAD to write a review for (Michael Lesley!) So, I read the book first and I loved it-TJ never disappoints. When I heard this audible version it blew my mind. Kirt was amazing-it wasn’t just his voice that was great, but the emotion was so very evident that at times I had tears in my eyes. I was mesmerized and felt the angst, drama, and suspense every step of the way. So, so good! But this, you won’t regret it!!!

This series continues to leave me speechless. Every time I think it couldn’t possibly get better TJ surprises me yet again! Never has a series resonated with me the way this one does. I feel like I’m personal friends with each of the characters that TJ has created and let’s not forget Kirt! If I could give him more than 5 stars I would! He does an amazing job of bringing each character to life. I feel as though I just watched a movie not read a book! I’m so excited for the next installment! Bravo TJ! Bravo!

Story you see behind your closed eyes
It’s stunning. The story is so incredibly beautifully written, it grips you away. So much so that it doesn’t go away when you close your eyes and even if you get away from it for a bit, you find yourself missing to get back to TJ’s writing and Kirt’s voice. And OMG, the narrator Kirt Graves is mesmerising. To get an audio book right, when the author’s writing syncs with the narrator’s voice is not an easy job but my god has Kirt done an amazing job. You instantly know the voices of characters and you simply couldn’t imagine a different sound to them. All in all, an incredible series narrated by an incredible performer.

Lost For Words!
Just fantastic! I really find it hard to say anything more!
This is definitely in my top 5 books of all time.
The whole series is great - the first book (Wolfsong) was great, loved it. This book has surpassed the first. Next is book 3 ‘Heartsong’.
If it’s anything like this, and probably then some, I’m going to be on tenterhooks waiting for ’Brothersong’ to be released on Audible.
This series of books is just magnificent, and if you like fantasy fiction with werewolves, witches and plenty sass, you will love this series too.
I highly recommend this and guarantee satisfaction!
The narration by Kirt Graves is excellently performed, each character brought to life with such feeling and empathy, it just hits you.
I’d be very surprised to hear if someone didn’t shed a tear in parts of the story, just excellent performance.
Definitely worth 5 stars across the board!!

I didnt expect to love this book as much as the first one since I was too attached to Ox and wanted him to remain the narrator.
However I now understand why it was necessary to switch and I grew to love Gordo as much as Ox.
The first half of the book that was mainly talking about past events was amazing and adorable and heartbreaking. The love story was very strong.
The performance was once more INCREADIBLE this is my favourite audiobook narrator. He truly understands the narrative and his performance is flawless.
My only tiny complain is that the book seemed to never end. I struggled to go through the last 3 hours. But all in all I did listen to it under two weeks which is quick enough considering its size.
I am so looking forward to the next 2 books of the series.
This writer is truly a genius and the books are so lyrical and beautiful and magical.
Like candycane and pinecones. Epic and Awesome.

Fabulous
Now this book is a slow burner and I struggled with the first seven chapters. However, as the book picked up the pace I can see they were essential in gaining an understanding of Gordo the man by knowing Gordo the boy. As well as a deeper knowldge of the Bennett pack.
This is a book of much sadness and rage at the same time containing much that is beautiful. It is not simply a book about good versus evil as both humans and wolves are more complex than that. There is much that will pain you but also much to uplift you.
I would argue that it is essential to have read the first book, Wolfsong. I enjoyed this book more perhaps because some gaps were filled in and knowing this story cannot end here.
Lastly, TJ Klune's prose and Kurt Graves' narration is a match made in heaven.

Even more perfect than Wolfsong!
Like Wolfsong, Ravensong is a tour de force follows the Bennett werewolf pack in Green Creek, this time focussing on the pack witch, Gordo, whose magic is bound by the raven tattoo he received as a child. We are treated to his early years, his love for Mark, a summary of events of Wolfsong, and then events surrounding the strange virus that is turning pack members into wild omegas. Gordo is a lovely complex character, ornery, fierce, deeply hurt, and unable to express his loyalty and friendship in words. While Wolfsong was excellent, Ravensong is richer, deeper, and more epic, but with humour and pathos - a truly amazing read! 🎧 Kirt Graves has the perfect blend of gravitas and empathy for this series, another fantastic performance.

Superior Sequel
After feeling heartstruck after finishing Wolfsong, I was at peace immediately because 2 books still remained.
Ravensong is where Klune's prowess shines. Incredible story telling and plot. Even more intriguing and rich characters. This one was serious, and it was more human despite the premise. Gordo and Mark have a richer relationship than Ox and Joe, but still...I love them all!
Wolfsong was incredible, although it followed similar tangents of Twilight it was still more raw. It was littered with delicious cliche's and predictability, but it was far too eniticing to stop.
Props to Kirt, his talent is beyond comprehension. The female and elderly voice he does are outstanding!

a wonderful experience
A fantastic next instalment into the Green Creek series with even more development of character and further delving into the plotlines. I struggled with the audio narration this time though as the story goes between past and present and it was sometimes a struggle to understand the developments and which time they were taking place. This may have come through easier with reading rather than listening but still a wonderful experience.

Great sequel to Wolfsong
Goes on a bit - but if you like TJ Klune you will like that style. I like the normalising of gay relationships and the creative and expressive style. Great narration.

More Green Creek magic!
OMG, 5 glorious stars for Ravensong, can’t say enough about this great story. TJ has done it again, I thought Wolfsong was such a special book, but Ravensong has those same special qualities. The world that TJ has built and the endearing characters are just magical and even though this story is serious and about survival or death against enemies, I think I was smiling and chuckling on every second page, the humour and wit coming from the pack’s mouths will put a big grin on your face.
If you haven’t heard of TJ Klune before, you are in for a treat! If Wolves & witches intrigue you, packs, brotherhood & MM stories? Do yourself a favour and read the Green Creek series, this is the second book, it’s about two of the older male characters, they’re around 40ish and it’s about second chances, forgiveness and over coming deep paralysing fear brought on by a series of tragic events that stops one of the leads, Gordo from living, he’s so closed off to possibilities that return and are in front of him.
This is a slow burn story, but the ride is so engaging & witty & the writing so captivating that it’s a pleasure just to go along with that slow burn journey of the two main characters. The books should be read in order, it would take a while to work out all the characters and how they fit together if you didn’t and there is a continuing story to follow. The narrator, Kurt Graves gives a truly commendable performance, cannot wait for the next book!

A long haul
The storytelling, brilliant, performance exceptional as always. I stayed with it. I’d loved part one. I look forward to part three, but kilometres of repetitive, kilometres of retelling made Ravensong a bit of a long haul.
