Frannie Shoemaker and her friends go camping to get away from the real world. So, they are surprised and dismayed to find their wilderness campground the production site of a new "reality" show - Celebrity Campout. Love this series

The Shoemakers and friends take a camping trip to get rid of the real world for a bit only to find they are shooting a reality TV show in the campground. But when the accidents start than a death it all gets very real.

I love these Frannie Shoemaker audios. Narrator Michelle Babb has become the voice of Frannie and she is wonderful. I love the action and suspense in these mysteries and how Frannie can stumble upon dead people. I also like the real life going ons in the campgrounds, people not prepared or even have a clue what they are doing, to the seasoned pros. These are just plain wonderful books or if you are like me audios, and I can't wait for more.

A Shoemaker mystery

This was a fun read, only problem I had with this one was keeping the characters straight.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Michelle Babb does a great job.

I'm Ready for More1

This has been a great series and I'm sad to see it end. Frannie and her krewe of retirees are full of action and mystery. This book sees them getting a shot at a television role, not that they were really looking for that. They always seem to find the most action packed campgrounds to stay at. I have an urge to buy a camper and get out there and explore the world myself now, but, somehow, I don't think I will find as much mystery and intrigue as they have found. Frannie and her group come to the rescue again, in more ways than one, in this book, and we get a very satisfying ending to the book. But not the series, I hope. I'm not ready to leave Frannie's world just yet. Michelle Babb did an excellent job, as always, with the narration. I hope I get to hear her again soon in the next Frannie Shoemaker book!

Excitement to the end!

This is the 8th book in the Frannie Shoemaker cozy mystery series and once again the story does not disappoint. Each book has it’s own twists and turns, comical moments and lots of adventure. It’s nice to have the stories center around a retired couple and their friends for a change of pace, it makes for an atypical foundation to how the plots play out.
The reader, as always, did an excellent job of the voices and by this book, the regular characters are like friends. It is read at a good pace with plenty of voice variations to differentiate characters easily to follow along while listening. This series has been a pleasure to spend time camping with the Shoemakers and friends!

Reality show meets campground murder mystery

The shoemakers meet a bunch of somewhat eccentric celebrities when a scripted reality show throws a bunch of celebrities into having to figure out campground life. Oh, and there's a murder. New connections are forged, mysteries are solved and emotions unraveled.
Highly enjoyable listen!

The main characters are likeable, funny and well-written. The plot kept me and kept me guessing the whole time. Great books to listen to while driving.

Another Similar story of Frannie Shoemaker

Though a different place and different circumstance just another Shoemaker story.
I really enjoyed the 1st several books but now getting sort of repetitious type of stories.
Narrator (Michelle Babb) does her usual good work on characters and storyline in this Audible book.

Entertaining

Narrator: Michelle Babb

The Shoemakers and friends get caught up in the drama of a reality tv show being filmed on their campsite and when the director is murdered there’s no end of suspects.

Very enjoyable story

Real Actors, Not People by Karen Musser Nortman is another book in the Frannie Shoemaker Camping mystery series. In this book, a reality show is being filmed in the Michigan park that Frannie and her friends are visiting. Of course, there is a murder and other crimes, and Frannie helps out. Michelle Babb gives a stellar narrative performance! When Ms. Babb narrates, the characters and story come alive! The book and series are great!

Another Good Adventure

Our favourite camping family return to take us on a new adventure this time built around wannabe relevant celebrities and reality tv. I do enjoy this series of books and this one was no different. It was a new take keeping in with some familiar themes. A new situation, more of the characters we grow to love throughout the series and learning a little more about them.

The story was done well - with enough intrigue without being too over the top. The narration was fantastic and Michelle did a great job of portraying emotion in some of the scenes that called for it. Very enjoyable listen all round.

I completely recommend the series for some light-hearted crime mystery.

Thoroughly enjoyed

Once again this author has come up with a new idea and has kept me interested throughout.

As a fan of the narrator I wasn't disappointed in the telling of the story. Michelle Babb has a way of bringing characters to life right before your ears, so to speak.

Super mystery

This is a super mystery, I have loved the series overall and this is one of the best. Frannie, Larry and friends become involved with a reality show, the usual murder and the usual set of suspects. Really enjoyable to listen to Michelle narrate these books, she brings the characters to life. Highly recommended and I hope there are more to come.

Real Actors or Has Beens?

This is one of the best stories in an overall enjoyable series of books. Franny and her co-horts end up on a campsite where a reality TV series is being produced, a member of the team ends up dead after arguing with almost everyone on the crew so there are plenty of suspects. The weather takes a turn for the worse which doesn't help but once again Franny triumphs and manages to expose the killer, Highly recommended, expertly narrated by Michelle Babb once again. 5 stars!

Camping ...

Michelle Babb is a great narrator and makes the listening experience a joy.

I have to say I love listening and reading these campground thrillers
In this book we see behind Reality TV when a bunch of actors descend upon the peaceful campground to film a pilot . We have humour at the actors struggle with setting up tents and cooking over a campfire, There is a real criminal hiding within the fake campers. The story is funny and interesting,

Just love these books as a bit of escapism

These audio books are just such a relief from everything going on right now. I can just imagine that I am on holiday - hopefully without the drama and murder. The characters work so well together. The descriptions of the scenery are amazing, it just puts you in such a good place.

But the best thing is Michelle's narration - I would listen to anything by her she just makes every character different and is amazing.

I was given a free copy in exchange for a fair and honest review which I have done.
