Publisher's Summary

History knows me by many names. Nyx, the Goddess of Night. Lilith, the Lady of Darkness. Selaphiel, the fifth angel of God. But the course of my life has been determined by my greatest mistake. I opened the gate, and allowed Lucifer to fall. Booted from Heaven for my sin, I serve my penance as a reaper. By collecting history’s most twisted souls, I work to one day earn my ticket home.

Case #663

The heinous crimes of Jack the Ripper are known throughout the ages, yet his true identity remains shrouded in mystery. Scythe in hand, it falls to me to claim his soul. Who he is, I don’t care. What made him this way makes no difference. My lone goal is to ensure that he face final judgment.

Ring the bell and alert the Bobbies. It’s reaper versus Ripper, in a battle for the title of the true harbinger of death.

more please

The book itself was a story of original twists that I was glued to from the first page. So when I saw it was in audio, I had to get a copy and see if the narrator was the cherry on the sundae or a discordant note in a beautiful song.

I'm happy to say Poopy's narration so ideally enhances the story in ways I can't even describe without spoiling it to be readers/listeners.

But I will say her lilting accented voice was so nice to the ears, I'll be seeing what other books she's lent her skills to.

Lizas review

Stacy does it again. She gives us another great story with a strong badass female lead. She is sarcastic and takes no crap. She’s not perfect. You can relate to her. Yes she’s a fallen angel (can’t relate) but she has a love interest who is throwing red flags (this I can relate too)
She’s not what you would picture as a reaper, but she’s clearly good at it.
The narrator made the characters come to life. Between her voice and the story itself you got a good feel of the characters.
As always she kept me guessing and wanting more. Couldn’t stop listening to the story.
Definitely cannot wait for book two.

I love Nix

I absolutely love everything I've ever read by this author. Her world building and character development are top notch. Nix is such a great character because she's totally badass but still flawed and that makes things so much more relatable. the narration was fantastic and I truly enjoyed listening to this story.

Such a fun ride!

This was a fun take on how souls are reaped. The author is fantastic at painting a picture and making sure you can see what’s happening in your mind. The characters are fun and I want to be friends with the main characters!! The woman reading really bring the story to life! Can’t wait to read the next one!! Do your self a favor and listen to this and escape!!

Excellent

Wow, this was just as amazing in audio as it was me reading it.

The characters were awesome!! My love for Nyx has not changed and she is still the best badass reaper that I have ever met!! My husband found the characters highly entertaining and he said that Nix was a blast to listen to. And I also still love A-hole as well as my husband.

The storyline was phenomenal. I loved how well written the story is and detailed each scene was. My husband found the story to be intriguing, fun and fascinating.

The narrator was absolutely perfect for this story. I could picture the characters in my mind as she changed her voice for each character that was introduced. She kept us interested and compelled to continue listening from beginning to end. We highly recommend this book!!

Poppy Royana as Nix is BRILLIANT!

I was ensnared in the Reaper's charm after narrator Poppy Royana uttered her first words as Nyx. I cannot imagine anyone else as the Reaper now. Royana is brilliant.

This hauntingly poetic excerpt from Rourke's new series could easily be her best work yet. Nyx is a strong, powerful; yet broken reaper. My heart ached for her. Lucifer is every bit the male chauvinist I expected him to be. The group is rounded out with Ezekiel who is the voice of reason for the trio. I love the spin Rourke is putting on the good vs. evil, the Devil vs. God story. I cannot wait to see where this story goes.

Fun and easy listen. Great way to start your day.

I loved the Narrator. Her British accent was a great extra for me in envisioning the Reaper and how she would actually be.

I love a good Stacey Rourke book. I always know I'm going to get a great story and a good time read. Stacey's books are always filled with drama and a bit of snark just like the her.
This book was just as I expected it would be. Just the thing to listen too when you are short on time and want something
great.

This book is about a Reaper who is known for her ability to catch the Souls of the most heartless and cruel know to man kind.
She is called upon when none other can do the job and she does it with a bit of Sass. This is her punishment for being one of the Fallen but she longs for atonement for her past wrong doings. Along with Lucifer and Ezekiel she goes after the Souls of the likes of Black Beard and the Ripper to bring them back for Lucifer to handle but his pain is nothing that she can bare anymore. She Loves him and wants nothing more then to free them from their punishment and return home to the Father but is that what he still wants too? Her felling's for him are being tested. Is she right in thinking that he is a good man inside that devilish attitude or is he really just a devil after all. On to the next book to find out more.

Definitely recommend.. You will not be disappointed.
