Publisher's Summary

When Rock Wolfe was fourteen, he tried to kill his father.

Twenty years later, someone else finished the job.

Now Rock is returning to New York for the reading of the billionaire's will. No way did Derek Wolfe leave anything to his oldest son, but according to Rock's brother, his presence is required.

Estate attorney Lacey Ward isn't looking forward to the reading. None of Derek Wolfe's children will be happy, least of all his oldest. When Rock enters the conference room, Lacey is stunned. He's a rebel--a biker all muscled and gorgeous in black leather. This won't be easy, especially since she can't stop staring at him.

Rock pays no attention to the reading. He's lost in a fantasy of bending his father's hot attorney over a desk. He's not a commitment kind of guy, though, and she screams white picket fence. Sparks fly between them, but the murder lurks in the back of their minds.

Rock knows all his family's secrets...or so he thinks. Mysteries seem to hide everywhere--mysteries that threaten not only his and Lacey's future but their lives as well.

A Great start to another Great Series

Another great story told by Helen Hardt. I do agree with some of the Amazon reviews the sex is similar in her books. However it’s hot n steamy so who’s complaining?!😜💕👍🏾🤔

I see another family hit like the Steal Brothers Saga, so if you like that, you’ll certainly love this one. Different family with all their drama and problems. Fresh new and fun characters to draw us in! I can’t wait to read them all and become addicted…..

The first book Rebel introduces the family but focuses on Wolf, the oldest, most sexy, bike riding, rogue of a son who ran away from his family and all their problems. Hubba hubba……

His Heroine Lacey, is a mild mannered lawyer who’s taking care of his father’s estate and when the two come together it’s instantaneous fire. Okay, I don’t want to give any of the story away, just know it’s a mystery and yes folks there is a cliffhanger so all will not be solved in this one story…

Helen Hardts stories are intriguing enough that I never mind..🤷🏽‍♀️

Cliffhanger

This book was so good. I stayed all night missed sleep even though I had somewhere to be the next day to have this book immediately end on a cliffhanger. I am NOT buying the next book.

Great story by a great writer but..

Okay so I automatically buy anything Helen Hardt puts out. I love her writing and she's one of my favorites.
But I am not a fan of Kendall Taylor's narrations. It's not her fault. Her voice just irks me. That made me almost return this after 8 chapters, but I decided to push through and try to overcome my dislike of her voice. Troy Duran saved the day with his voice. I LOVE his voice.
The story itself was good as usual. It just would have been better for me if it had a female narrator I could stand to listen to.

Same as Steel

It was good, but too many similarities with the steel brothers saga. Also it would’ve been better to have a different narrator, also sounded the same as steel brothers. Still a good storyline and suspenseful I will read the next book in the series.

Decent start

I don’t want to write a bad review about this book. I love Troy Duran, the story wasn’t bad but this author has a history of writing loads of books with cliffhangers and bad reviews. There are only the first two of about 5 in this series out right now. So I’ll see how the second one goes. A lot of her books are ebooks free ion hoopla from your local library but I’m really spoiled to audio books.

Fast and Furious!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🤎🖤❤️
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍
Character development: 😠😘🤓😉
Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The Hero: Rock Wolfe - he tried to kill his father when he was fourteen years old and was sent to a Military Academy for the troubled kids of Millionaires. He learned his lesson that his father wasn’t worth it, but still dreamed of his fathers death. Twenty years later his father was shot in the head at his penthouse and none of his kids were sorry. Rock lives in Montana but needs to go to New York for the reading of the will which specifies that all the kids had to be present.

The heroine: Lacey Ward - she was the Estate Attorney for Derek Wolfe. She wasn’t looking forward to the reading of the will since Derek Wolfe was worth billions and none of the family present would be happy about the contents. Rock was the last to show up and unlike the rest of the family, dressed in designer dresses and Armani suits, Rock strolled in wearing Levi’s, black leather boots and a biker jacket.

The Story: Rock is forced to stay in New York in order to fulfill the terms of his fathers will and secure his brothers and sisters inheritance. Though he wants Lacey and isn’t willing to let her get away, so he agrees to try as long as she agrees to help him. This book gets steamy very fast and there is a ton of chemistry between Rock and Lacey.

The book is told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Troy Duran, my favorite narrator. He has a very deep and clear voice which is fantastic for any romantic Hero. Kendall Taylor did the narration from Lacey’s point of view, and I am not a big fan of her voice but it did fit well for the attorney.

The story is very steamy and I liked the romance. These two characters were total opposites and couldn’t keep their hands off each other. There was the mystery of who killed Derek Wolfe and quite a bit of suspense. It seemed like everyone in the Wolfe family was hiding something, including Rock and someone had it out for him.

The one thing I didn’t like about this book was the fact that not everything was resolved at the end. There wasn’t a cliffhanger, but by the end, we still don’t know who murdered Derek and why. Since each book in this series will be about one of the Wolfe siblings, who knows if or when we will get those answers.

Addictive!

I'm a massive fan on Helen Hardt & have listened to just about every audio book she's done! I love the ongoing Steele saga and this has the promise of the same magicd! I listened to this in 2 sittings & as soon as it finished I came to buy the 2nd instalment immediately! I think that demonstrates a glowing recommendation!
