Shallow pretty boy, conceited fuckboy, immature assclown. Take your pick, they all apply to Brewer. The world is his ass buffet, and we’re all on the menu. I’ve never hated anyone like I hate Brewer. But when Rebel pairs us to do a scene together, I have to admit I’m looking forward to taking all my irritation out on his...well, you get the picture. When one scene turns into a whole fake relationship, I’m not sure we’re going to make it out of this without some bloodshed.

Story
I’ve been living under storm clouds since my honorable discharge, but Julian’s the sun. I’ve tried everything to deal with my PTSD, but nothing seemed to help. So when my brother suggests a service dog, I figure I don’t have anything to lose. The last thing I expect is for the dog to come with a cheerful, quirky trainer I can’t get out of my head. I’m too screwed up for love, but a chance to explore a side of myself I didn’t realize existed until recently is too good to pass up.

I never thought a night out could change everything. All I wanted was to dance, drink, maybe take a cute guy home for a night of fun. I met the guy, but the night ended as a nightmare. Screams and blood and tragedy haunt my dreams. I'm alive and I owe it all to the gorgeous marine who refused to leave me for dead. But how can I start a new relationship when I'm not even sure who I am anymore?

The last thing I want is another relationship or another broken heart. All I need are my bees and the occasional hookup to scratch the itch. Okay, maybe meeting up with my hot contractor weekly is a little more than occasional. And maybe the way I’m starting to feel about the guy I’ve been anonymously chatting with online should concern me. But CaulkyAF doesn’t want to meet, and Cole doesn’t want anything serious, so what’s the worst that could happen?

Saying I've had a crush on my best friend's older brother, Pax, most of my life is like saying the big bang was just an explosion. All my life, I’ve dreamed of one thing: the perfect movie moment. I want a man and his boombox outside my window; I want kissing in the rain; I want a romantic hero who will take my breath away. Switching mail with my cute neighbor didn’t work. Swapping coffee with a hottie at the coffee shop just got the poor barista yelled at. And bus guy? Total bust. I’m starting to wonder if Hollywood got the whole meet-cute thing wrong. Sacrilege, I know. Is it possible the perfect leading man has been living in the apartment above me the entire time, playing the role of my best friend?

I threw myself into architecture, and thankfully, there's just no time to wallow or look for love. My friends push me to get back out there, but I'm not ready to be vulnerable again. Then I meet Kev. He dresses like a catalog model, but he talks like he's got an old soul. He shows me what I'm missing but holds his own heart just out of reach. I can't stop falling for him, and he might be worth taking a risk for. Can I believe in myself enough to win his trust and his heart?

Publisher's Summary
I’m everyone’s friend, but no one’s everything....
I love working for Ballsy Boys, but when you make the kind of videos I do, relationships are pretty damn impossible. Guys find me sexy and want to either be with me or be me, but no one has ever cared enough to see the real me.
Until I meet Troy...who shows up in a banana suit at my door. Long story.
Troy has no problem whatsoever with my job, but he’s determined to keep me at a distance. I get it, he’s been hurt before. But for the first time, a hook-up alone is not enough. I want more with him. Hell, I want everything. But he resists at every step until I’m about ready to give up. What do I need to do to show him that what we have is real and worth fighting for?
Rebel is the first book in the Ballsy Boys Series and is a sexy, emotional MM romance that will make you fall in love with all the Ballsy Boys. While this audiobook and this series do contain some instances of sex outside of the main relationships, there’s no cheating.

A great beginning of a series
I loved Rebel and Troy. I loved the characters especially Troy. The storyline was interesting. I was pleasantly surprised by this book and first of a series and will definitely be following the series.
Kenneth obi did a fabulous narration. Everyone had a distinct voice, the pacing is good and it is more acting than reading.

As is well expected by the synopsis, this book is full of sex and dirty talk. The narration and many different characters threw me off at first but eventually I got it all figured out in my head. Troy was a bit over the top with his commitment phobia, but at least they worked it out for a happy ending. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Narration adds a lot to the enjoyment of the book
This review is very similar to the one I did for the book.
I enjoyed the book a lot. I don’t remember it being this funny though. The narration by Kenneth Obi really showed Rebel’s and Troy’s sweet, fun sides. I usually like to read the book before I do the audio, but in this case the audio would be fine first.
Rebel is one of the of the Ballsy Boys porn stars. He's a nice guy who's happy with his work and life. The men he works with are like an odd kind of family. He sometimes wishes he could find someone to date who isn't bothered by his profession. His current guy doesn't know what he does and for now that's fine with him.
Want to breakup with someone but don't want to tell them yourself? Hire Troy and he will do it for you. Not the best job to have but it allows him to go to school and to work on a mobile game app he is trying to develop.
Troy is hired to break up with Hendrix (better known as Rebel) but he has to do it in a banana suit. When he realizes who Rebel is (his favorite Boy) he immediately convinces him a good way of getting even would be to have sex. Rebel agrees and off comes the banana suit.
Neither is looking for long term. Rebel wants something away from his porn career. Troy, afraid of any closeness, wants the hot sex with someone he's fantasized about. They begin with the sex, then the feelings creep in. You'll have to listen to the book to see how they solve the issues that come between them.
The story is well written and you know with a porn stars as major players the sex will be amazing. This is the first in the Ballsy Boys series.

Spicy and Sweet
I heard so much about the Ballsy Boys series and my expectations were so high that I was afraid it wouldn't live to the hype.
But it does! And I had a blast listening/reading it!
Rebel is the story about Hendrick (aka Rebel) a sweet , romantic and all around nice person and also, one of the most popular and hottest Porn Star at Ballsy Boys Productions .
And about Roy, a commitment phobic, smart and sexy , last year college student, struggling to pay tuition .
Through a combination of circumstances that includes, a bad date, a banana costume, lack of money and luck , our heroes meet and hit it off.
From duck 😏buddies , to friends with benefits their relationship develops to much more. While simultaneously having a lot and I mean A LOT of hot AF sexy times, that I thoroughly enjoyed, but I digress.
Yes, there are a lot of explicitly descriptive, dirty and smutty scenes ; yet there is also an entertaining and engaging plot and narrative.
Kenneth Obi narration was on point and perfect. He acted all the characters , not just read the book.
Looking forward listening other books of the series.

Horrible narrator
I am never this negative in a review, but Kenneth Obi is awful. His story telling is so fake sounding. It is truly terrible acting. I actually had to switch over to reading this because he was ruining the story for me. Rebel is a porn star and Troy meets him when he is paid by another guy to break up with him. It’s his side job. Troy has issues of commitment but not having sex with a porn star. Rebel falls fast for him and must try to convince Troy to be with him.

Terrible narration
I loved this book when I read it, but I had a really hard time listening to it all the way through. I felt like the narrator really missed on the interpretation of the story and the characterizations of all the different players in the story. Troy sounded like an over-excited teenager most of the time, no matter what was happening in the story, and Rebel sounded like a total stoner. The inflection of the two main characters never changed regardless of what was going on, and it was sooo annoying. The rest of the characters sounded so similar that I couldn't even guess who was speaking if there was no name attached to the speaker. The other problem was that the enunciation of the narrator was poor and sometimes I couldn't even understand what words he was saying. It's a shame because this book could have been so much better on audio with a different narrator. I have no plans to purchase any of the other audio books in the series if it's the same narrator.

Finding love you think you don't deserve
This is a wonderful story about finding and keeping love. After being abandoned be people that were supposed to love him Troy gave up on finding lasting love until he met Rebel. One of my favorite scenes is when Troy goes to NY to be with Rebel.
Narrator Kenneth Obi does a fabulous job and I can't wait to listen to the rest of this series.

It's Okay to Care
It is hard when two people start to care but have been committed to non-commitment each for their own reasons. At least when they start to communicate Rebel begins to understand his own feelings and why Troy is reacting the way he does. I love how they are begin to move closer together and the patience Rebel has.

Not that amazed
I started this book with high expectations after reading the reviews here in Audible. I have a few pointers to make regarding this, both story-wise and narration-wise. Story-wise, I did find the premise extremely interesting from reading the summary, but listening through the chapters, I found myself looking for that x-factor that would make this story appealing. Unfortunately, I couldn't. I found the characters to be not deep enough to relate to, and the progression or the build-up and the angst just didn't do it for me. They were a bit flat for my taste and the sex scenes were borderline lukewarm. Not the graphic aspect of them, but the emotional part of it. And I'm not referring to the ones during the AV shooting. It had me thinking that perhaps, if I were to read the book and not listen to it, I might get more attached to it and the characters, so I might be judging based on the narration and not just the writing. I did appreciate some moments of Kenneth Obi's dialogues, but the narratives in between the spoken lines felt strangely stressed, or lacking the emotional peaks that I was expecting, after thinking back at what was said, in retrospect. Especially Rebel's parts were difficult to listen to, as I perceived him as apathetic and bored, even though I believe that he wasn't written like that. In conclusion, I am not amazed by this story. I don't think I would re-read it, but I might get the next four books. Heart and Pixie had me slightly interested, so I might just give them a try.

Rebel and his banana boy
Rebel is book 1 in the Ballsy Boys series by K.M. Neuhold and Nora Phoenix. I remember enjoying this book the first time I read it, but I don’t think I laughed nearly as much then as I did while listening to the audiobook. K.M. Neuhold and Nora Phoenix have the amazing ability to create these strong friendships among characters who are all individually flawed, yet they are also as equally devoted and loyal to each other as they are to their significant others. It’s refreshing to see and just makes me enjoy this series that much more. I may have found Rebel to be charming on paper, but he’s downright hilarious when narrated by Kenneth Obi. The narration of the other characters makes me all the more excited for the rest of the series.
Great story + great narration = a 5-⭐️listen

Ballsy joy!
Yay! It’s time to listen to one off my favourite recent books by two of my favourite authors with one of my favourite narrators. Rebel was a great introduction to us meeting all of the Ballsy Boys and I can’t wait to see what Kenneth Obi does with the rest of the characters.

An unusual start to a relationship!!!
Rebel, the first in the Ballsy Boys series is amazing. We get an introduction to the main members of the Ballsy Boys while the main story focuses on Rebel, one of the Ballsy Boys and Troy, who is hired by Tom to break up with Rebel. This begins their story which has some ups, some downs and ends fantastically.
Love both K.M. Neuhold and Nora Phoenix’s writing so the two of them together is awesome. When you add in the amazing narration talents of Kenneth Obi then you’re definitely on to a winner. I’m very picky with my narrators as I can lose interest pretty quickly but Kenneth Obi always has me hooked and gripped.

Rebel and Troy bought to life.
I loved the book by Kyleen and Nora but having it bought to life was really enjoyable. Rebel and Troy make a good couple and deserved a happy ending. Kenneth did a great job with the voices of all the ballsy boys. Really looking forward to listening to rest of the boys. This book the first in the series was epic and the rest of the series is going to just as epic. If you have read the book then grab the audible copy and listen to Kenneth spin his magic and bring the ballsy boys to life.
