Publisher's Summary

Do you have trouble letting go? Does your past—and the people who shaped it—still haunt you? If the answer is “yes”, you’re not alone. Keep reading because this is the audiobook you were looking for!

Imagine how good it would feel to be able to forgive the people who have hurt you. Imagine being able to overcome your trauma and finally heal. It's not as difficult as you may think. In fact, it can happen a lot faster than that—and you're closer to it than you think, too.

This audiobook argues that conscious forgiveness is the key to healing your trauma and affirming yourself. I believe that the ability to forgive is something that comes from within you by rationalizing and thinking critically about your abuser. However, I also know that without conscious forgiveness, you will spend all of your energies brooding and ruminating on the trauma inflicted upon you.

That's why I've written this audiobook—to help you focus on what matters most: yourself.

By listening to this audiobook, you’ll discover:

  • How to react and recover from trauma, to understand how to be able to react to any type of trauma you have suffered, and to effectively get rid of all the destructive emotions that come with being mistreated and abused
  • Ways and practices to heal from emotional abuse so that you can have applicable guidelines that you can use right away to feel better and begin your healing journey immediately
  • How to spot covert narcissists: Recognize traits that indicate that a person is a covert narcissist in order to spot them before they can harm you and never suffer from abuse again
  • Treating the effects of childhood trauma so that you can heal and help anyone (including yourself) overcome childhood trauma of any kind, and stop wasting your energy thinking about who hurt you

And much more!

This audiobook isn't about healing trauma in a vacuum; it's about doing it with a mindset of conscious forgiveness, so you don't spend all your time worrying about who hurt you and how they did it. Instead, start focusing on building your self-esteem back up again!

What are you waiting for? Get this audiobook now!

Great and helpful!

I really enjoyed this audiobook! I dated a narcissist for five years, and have been trying to heal from the abuse for the last year. It’s been a process, but this book was validating and helpful! Highly recommend! Some of the things are obvious, but it helps to explain why being more intentional is the right way to heal, and some of the things were totally new information. Really loved it!

Very helpful when moving on after a traumatic rela

I am separated from and in the process of filing for divorce from a spouse with BPD and NPD and this book had a lot of helpful information to help allow me to move on emotionally. After 14 years together, I have completely lost myself and my sense of self. Everything revolved around him and our children so this book was helpful to me because I had no clue what self care even was. I do however think that I may need to read a few more of these books because my relationship was not just mentally abusive but physically as well and this book doesn’t address the physical abuse aspect. Overall though it was helpful.

loved this book!

The more books that I read of people who have gone through similar to myself, the more confidence it gives me with my own situation. The author focuses on the theme of debilitating shame and why it is so important to remove this if you want to somewhat recover and move on from childhood abuse.

very good book on this topic!

Loved the section that explained how to beat the inner critic voice in your head. When I really think about it, my suffering is all psychological and this book has opened my eyes up to that and that I can really recover in due time with the right treatment.

Good book but a lot of repetition

wow this book is very informative and inspirational. Although I do think that some points were reiterated a bit too much, while understand its important sometimes for the point to drive home, it can also be a bit repetitive, in this case I think some points of compassion were repeatedly brought up.

Recommended for Social Workers and Psychologist

I loved this book. I high recommend anyone who wants to work as a therapist. Also, this book is great for someone who wants to work with people who have experienced childhood trauma, veterans with PTSD, individuals who have lived through sexual assault or domestic violence. I high recommend this book for social work and psychology students either at the bachelor or masters level. It might benefit the students at a higher level of education more than at a lower level of education. A people could reread this book as it is educational, interesting, and inspiring.

A must for everyone!!

I was pleasantly surprised to find it an academic yet highly accessible read, & for the first time I witnessed the fully fleshed out struggles, confusion, pain, gas lighting of myself & others who continue to suffer horrific experiences in seeking help from therapists & institutions that claim to offer it. Equal vigor is given to the success stories of those greatly benefited by quality support. Such instances well observed the many lessons learned from the ongoing pitfalls in the so called grey areas of the gulf between ‘great’ & ‘awful’ care, in my opinion.
