Graphic Audio delivers a next-level performance

WARNING! SONS OF ARES SPOILS SOME REVEALS IN THE RED RISING NOVELS. IF YOU CAN, LISTEN TO / READ THE NOVELS FIRST!!

Short review:
Graphic Audio portrays the Red Rising universe so perfectly, that I NEED the same thing done with every Red Rising book. 11/10 and worth the credit!

Long review:
To understand my perspective about how much better a Graphic Audio book is better than a single performer, here is a short preface about Tim Gerard Reynolds.

If I could have one thing, it would be for Reynolds (who does not perform in Sons of Ares) to narrate my dreams while I sleep. Red Rising (the novel) was one of the first audiobooks I ever heard, and I was completely spoiled on the mastery and sheer range of Reynolds' performance in that novel series.

That being said, Graphic Audio (GA) truly lives up to their tagline "A movie in your mind" with the extremely talented full-cast performance, and top notch music and effects to fill out the soundscape. I really did feel a next level of immersion than with a single performer, regardless of caliber, and am at a next-level of being spoiled by a headphones-only experience.

GA's attention to detail was incredible, and every performer voice chosen for each character was spot on to what I imagined they would be.

The writing was extremely well paced, with a wonderful backstory that fills out and gives greater depth to the Fitchner we know from the first trilogy.

I am a stickler for getting a sufficient amount of time for my credit, but I have no qualms about shelling out a credit for each of the upcoming 3-hour installments of the Sons of Ares.

Well done, 11/10. will listen again and again and again

Annoying Background

Distracting background noise that overwhelms the narration. Disappointed. The story line is good but one must re-wind and re-listen many times to understand the narration.

Fantastic Add on to Red Rising

If you would love to have more story after listening to Red Rising then this will fill that void. Listen to Red Rising before listening to this audiobook to avoid spoilers and big twists from the first book.

It’s really just a 3 hr book the 4th hr is a review by a wind bag

What I didn’t like was saying it’s a 4hr book when it’s just three hrs, I look down at the time and am excited that I have an hr left in the book then the story ends and goes in to a boring interview that the listener doesn’t want to hear, otherwise it would have been good not great but good

Nice short prequel

Great for fans of the main saga or who have enjoyed the graphic novels. As always the performances bring another depth to the story
