It's a wonderfully well written romance novel. It started out a little sad, but then the story get into a new heights. I fell in love with Fallon and Reid.

Sweet story!

I love a story where I can laugh as well as cry and this story did it for me. The characters are real and Jaime Lamchick did a great job as narrator. Will look for other books written by Maria Josephs and also others that are narrated by Jaime Lamchick.

Holy Hot Seduction!

Holy hot seduction! I love reading books about a hot hollywood start woo-ing an everyday girl and this book definitely did not disappoint. Reid, self proclaimed ladies man, goes above and beyond to prove that he can commit to Fallon and be the man that can help her through anything and everything. Fallon does everything she can to run and push Reid away, using his "player" status and the reason they could never make it. I devoured this book in one sitting and left wanting more. I have to jump right into the 2nd book to see where life takes Fallon and Reid!

Yas!!

This book had me absolutely hooked from the 1st page! I loved the characters- they were fabulously developed and had personalities that draw you in. The chemistry- the push/pull between Fallon and Reid was intense. I. LOVED. IT! Reid pursued Fallon with his whole heart which was absolutely heart warming and oh so sexy.

Narration was awesome! The voice was so pleasant to listen to. I very much enjoyed it. I would love to hear more from this narrator!

Reluctant

This was a sweet and sad contemporary story. It's funny how Fallon pushes everyone away, but the ones closest to won't budge. But the over baring friends do get a bit annoying. I like that Reid was so determined to be by her side no matter what. I also loved the authors personal note at the end! Great narration!

Yes, I would definitely recommend this book to a friend. I find the author's writing style to be very engaging. The depth of the characters personalities make them very relatable.

What other book might you compare Reluctant to and why?

I would compare the book Alexander Ranch, because it is written by the same author. Her writing style is very incomparable to another. She engages and connects you to the characters depicted in her novels.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

In the introduction where the main character, Fallon is dealing with the emotional loss of her father is so well written. Her emotions are so raw and real, that you can feel how she is feeling. You can see yourself in her shoes, right in the beginning you connect with her.

Reluctant

this is a story about Fallon and Reid.

Fallon goes to Alexa's house to get some work done. She interrupts a man, Reid, and a woman on the table at Alexa's house, where nobody was supposed to be.

Reid is an actor that is best friends with Nick, Alexa's brother. He was supposed to greet Fallon at Alexa's house, but he didn't know she was going to be early.

Fallon doesn't like Reid, but he keeps going over and bothering her that he grows on her. They start hanging out and reside to become "buddies" because he "didn't have time for a relationship".


The story is pretty fantastic, and I enjoyed it immensely! Marla Josephs is an awesome author, and the narrator, Jamie Lamchick, is amazing! I hope to be able to both read and listen to their books in the future.

A beautiful romance

--I was given this audiobook in return for an honest review.

I loved this book. A sweet romance, real life situations and good friends. The circumstance of Reid and Fallon's initial meeting just makes you laugh...and think of Reid as a total Playboy. But as the story unfolds and you find the depth of the man, the sadness Fallon carries, the way their relationship evolves, you can't help but love them both. I was extremely impressed with way Reid dealt with Fallon's scare, standing by her side through thick and thin. This book had some meat to it, making it not a fluffy romance, creating an enjoyable listen.

The narrator, Jamie Lamchick, did an outstanding job. This was the first book I have heard her do and she made the characters real and believable.

Deep, Heart-felt Story!

Would you listen to Reluctant again? Why?

Yes I would listen to Reluctant again because the Author had you right there living this story. It was as if I could feel and see everything! She made her characters really realistic and the story held very little "fluff". A good, solid read. I couldn't put it down!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Reluctant?

One of the most memorable moments of Reluctant for me was the moment Fallon realized she was in love with Reed. It was outrageously romantic.

What does Jaime Lamchick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Jaime Lamchick made every character come to life for me. She was able to change her voice to match each one. She is very talented.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book made me laugh and cry at times. It is such a sweet love story but at the same time it tells of heart-breaking crisis almost one after the other.

Any additional comments?

The fact that this author has actually gone through the sadness she portrayed in the story broke my heart but at the same time I was so very proud of her ability to climb out of misery and grab life with gusto and triumph! Now that is a wonderful story!
