Publisher's Summary

Trace Rivers only ever wanted to be one thing when he grew up: a firefighter. Luckily for him, he has four older brothers who wanted to be ranchers like their father. His parents were okay with their youngest being a firefighter. They just wish he didn’t feel the need to do so in a completely different state. Wanting to get away from the overbearingness that his family could be, he decided to accept a job in Sulfur Springs Wyoming.

Hawke Knotts life is a lie. For his entire life, he grew up believing Denver was his brother. Oh how wrong he was. At the insistence of a close friend, Denver comes clean about just who he is because after a manipulative ex-girlfriend drove Hawke away from their home, he fears he may lose him forever. Can Hawke ever forgive Denver for deceiving him?

When one of Hawke’s high school friends suggests he swing by the firehouse to say, "hi", little does he know that the probie is about to introduce him to Lieutenant Trace Rivers, his direct boss. Never before has Hawke been so enamored with a man at first sight. Not even his boss’ husband, Logan. But will Trace and Hawke be able to see where their mutual attraction goes? Or will a vengeful arsonist destroy their developing romance? Can Trace rescue Hawke in time when his life is put in danger?

Rescuing My Angel is the second audiobook in the Sulfur Springs series. This is a Men of Crooked Bend spin-off, but it isn’t a requirement that you listen to that series to enjoy this one. Familiar faces will be seen, but this series takes you off of the ranch and into the lives of those in Sulfur Springs. While each audiobook will focus on a different couple and may be enjoyed as a stand-alone, you will receive maximum enjoyment listening to them in order. Each audiobook contains sexually explicit material between two men and is intended for adults over the age of 18.

So Sweet

I really loved that the older MC was the one pinning for the younger MC in Rescuing My Angel. I also enjoyed the story of two of the side characters. Plenty of steam, humor, no angst, forgiveness, a tiny bit of action, and Michael Pauley narrating makes for a very good listen.

fantastic story

Hawke and Trace are amazingly adorable together with just the right amount of sexy. The story is an entertaining mix drama, romance and a pinch of comedy. I definitely recommend.

Michael Pauley narrates this story and does a fantastic job. clear recording and smooth voicework. the story really comes to life.

Not my writer...

This is my second book from Taylor Rylan. I didn't like the first one and I was hoping that my opinion would change with this second book. I believe in at least reading a second or third book from any author before I permanently disregard them or keep them as a favorite author. Well...Rylan will be toss in the "not for me" bin. Ms. Rylan's plotlines and characters are too two-dimensional subject matters for me. There's no depth to her writing. It's like reading/listening to an uninformed author write about a subject she has no knowledge of. Sad thing is, she's not the only one. Many women authors write the 'Gay Romance' genre in a way that make gay men appear to be paper-thin people. I think alot has to do with the fact that straight women authors are stuck in the "straight romance" universe and just transfers it to the gay romance genre. With all the gay romance books I've read from female authors, there's only so few that I mustered to suspend my disbelief with. Ms. Rylan isn't one of those writers. She just doesn't pull it off for me.

Overall: If you like Boys-Love-Gay romance then this might be for you. Ms. Rylan's writing reminds me of all those Thai/Japanese boys love stories/books/shows written for young girls to squeal about. However, if you want something with more substance I suggest you read along the line of John Wiltshire, Annabella Michaels, A.E. Wasp, Riley Hart and such.

Narrator: Michael Pauley is one of my favorite narrator but even he can't save every book he narrates.

The firefighter and the baker

This is my second audio book in the Sulfur Springs series and I loved it just as much as the first. The story line maintained my interest, characters were well defined, and Michael Dean did a great job with character voices. I would highly recommend this book and, so far, the series.

as good as the ebook

The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between.

Protective Love

Rescuing My Angel is the second book of the Sulfur Springs series, and I recommend reading the first book in the series first before reading this one. This book is a contemporary romance filled with drama and danger. I enjoyed this book more than the first book since it centered around tropes I enjoy. There was the protective-trope and the age-gap-trope—tropes I am a big fan of. The drama and romance was a little bit cliched but I still enjoyed it.

The audiobook was narrated by Michael Dean who did a great job with performance. The audiobook production was well done and overall an enjoyable listening experience.

Hawke

Hawke has been looking at Logan with hearts in his eyes for a long time. But Logan has married his boss Rhett so he needs to focus on some one else. Except he doesn't like guys his own age. He is more into an older guy. What he doesn't know is that he has an admirer across the street in the form of a hunky fireman who secretly calls him angel. Trace is done with hook ups and looking for someone who he can care for and love and he has set his eyes on Hawke. With a lot going on in Hawke' s life he wonders what Trace sees in him but Trace is patient and doesn't want to scare the young man away. When disaster strikes they both realise what they could have lost and finally they realise they need each other. A lovely story and well narrated by the talented Kenneth Obi.

Sweet and sexy!

I really enjoyed this book - it was sweet and sexy and an all round feel good book. Trace is the older man chasing after the younger Hawke who he calls his angel. These two together are a great match. Combine a sweet love story with a family surprise and the drama of a fire and there’s a lot going on in this book.

Michael Pauley did an amazing job as narrator - I love his work!
