Very good book

It's a different kind of retirement book. He's not crunching numbers like other books. He's saying, get a plan 1st. Get a plan early in life. Work the plan, get some hobbies, core pursuits, decide what's important in your life. Work your plan and retire when it feels right. Great book. Much different than other books.

Useful information - I learned a few new tricks

First off, I've been saving for retirement for close to 30 years. This book didn't change my savings plan as much as it gave me some new strategies to use to provide additional income streams. That alone was worth the cost.

A Different Way to see Retirement!

As my husband and I approach retirement faster than I expected, I wanted to do all I can to be prepared. I know all of the regular themes of retirement savings, but this book approaches retirement in a different way.

Don't just save the money but also plan a happy re

Wes presents many of the concepts that he espouses on his MONEY MATTERS radio show on WSB in Atlanta. The main ideas include not only saving your money and properly utilizing it when you reach retirement but also considering what happy retirees are doing and how their lives are set up. It's one thing to have money when you retire but a completely different thing to thrive and enjoy your retirement.

I have been listening a lot of retirement books lately and this has been, by far, my favorite. I have actually never written a review before, but enjoyed this book so much I thought I would.

Inspiring

I am a financial advisor and I enjoyed this book very much. This book isn't really about investment advice though- its about saving to meet a goal and I did appreciate the Authors telling what they DID, warts and all.

Confusing verbiage

The book itself was relatively basic, all the typical suggestions regarding retirement in general. I have listened to and read many financial books. This particular book was difficult to understand, not because of the messaging but the terminology used. I didn’t read the other reviews, but it seems fairly evident that this person has not grown up in the United States just based on the verbiage. Many of the words he uses directly conflict with the word that would be used in basic American English. I was able to figure out most of what was trying to be explained, but I missed much of the book just trying to come up with a more American English-based translation. I may just be me but it almost sounded as though it was using a computerized foreign language to English program and the narrator sounded “robotic”.

Not for me

First book that I am going to ask for a refund. Uninspired standard facts you could find in a Google search written in non-American English.

An interesting listen!

Different to what I expected. As much about changing your philosophy on how most of us live our lives as it is a practical means by which to save money. One of the interesting points was about seeing your house as a massive liability and downsizing where possible whilst saving as much as possible as soon as possible to enable you to build a large equity portfolio and live off the income from that instead (with your more frugal life costing you significantly less than before).
