Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Teenage Angst
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I'm not sure who this book is for. The content is obviously geared towards teenagers and Young Adults... not preteens. However, the writing style, wording and plot development was very practicable and almost spoon feed to you; like something you would expect for a Juvenile reader.
What was most disappointing about Randi Cooley Wilson’s story?
The I love you but I can't have you.... but I love you plot line. Was hard to follow and very annoying.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Annoyance at the writer and annoyance that I bought this book.

Give it a chance.
I’m not sure I understand the reviews about the narrator. Y’all had me expecting an elderly woman with a cigarette in her mouth. I thought she was lovely.
The story is young, but if you keep your expectations in check, it’s enjoyable. It did remind me a lot of Amy A Bartol’s Premonition Series, as another reviewer mentioned.
I can handle the “youth” of the book just fine as I like the premise. My only real issue was with how many conversations she “just so happened” to overhear. I think the author could’ve found a better way to give the reader that information. Once? Okay. Twice? Eh.. multiple times throughout the book? Come on, now.
All in all, I did enjoy the book and do not regret the time spent in this series. Is it my top 10? No. But it was a nice way to pass the time. Give this story a chance and keep your mind open.

Lame copy of the Premonition series
This is a lame copy of the Amy Bartol Premonition series. It’s almost the exact chapters, story, even the main characters name is pretty much the same! Also the narrator is terrible, sounds like she has a cold and pronounces words funny. If you want a way better version of this book, check out the ones by Amy Bartol.

Great story, annoying narration
Loving this story and can't wait for the next book. However, I'm not a fan of the narration. Seems as if the narrator is talking through her nose too often and she's trying far to hard to BE the different characters. Overall I do recommend this book.

Terrible narration.
I'm not sure about the actual storyline of this book as I had to give up after a few chapters. The narration of this book is just too horrible to listen to any more. The narrators voice is really nasal and annoying and her accents are just dreadful. The worst is probably Ash, she just can't seem to decide where he's from. One minutes he sounds Bostonian, then a weird mix between Irish and Welsh, then slips into one of the worst English accents I've heard in a while. I will probably try the Kindle version, although I have to say that what I've heard of the book so far doesn't sound to promising either.
