Publisher's Summary

This instant #1 internationally bestselling “explosive tell-all” (Daily Express, London) reveals the inside story about Meghan Markle’s journey from minor actress and attempted activist to the woman powerful enough to drive a wedge within the British Royal Family.

After a childhood spent on Hollywood film sets, Meghan Markle fought hard for stardom. But even when she landed her breakthrough role on Suits, her dream of worldwide celebrity remained elusive until she met the man who would change her life—Prince Harry. Their whirlwind romance culminated with Meghan’s ultimate fairy tale ending: their 2018 wedding at Windsor Castle. Finally, the world was her stage.

It seemed that the dizzying success of the wedding between the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex marked the beginning of a fresh era for the British Royal Family. Yet, within one tumultuous year, the dream became a nightmare. In the aftermath of the infamous Megxit split and their Oprah Winfrey interview, the increasingly toxic relationship between the two Windsor sides seemed forever ruptured.

What does the future hold for Meghan and Harry? And can the rest of the Windsors restore their reputation?

Now, with extensive research and exclusive insider interviews, Britain’s leading investigative biographer unravels the tangled web of courtroom drama, courtier politics, and thwarted childhood dreams to reveal this “bombshell” (The Mirror, London) story of love, betrayal, secrets, deceit, and revenge.

Terribly written and narrated

This book is an atrociously biased, poorly written, poorly recited, and inaccurately researched waste of money and time. If all you want to listen to is hate toward Meghan Markle, then perhaps I’m wrong and this book is for you. I was hoping for a more honest take and this just isn’t it. And by the way, it’s Woodland Hills, not “Woodward Hills.”

Riveting

I followed along in my paperback while listening! It’s jaw dropping… i used to love Harry & Meghan! What happened?… well Bower does a great job laying it out for the reader. (I inquired to audible c.s. last month about WHEN I could get my ears on this & the rep told me they had NO plans of making the title available for listeners this side of the pond….so I ordered the paperback which arrived last week from jolly ol England!… I would’ve loved to save $40. I ended up liking this juicy novel so much I have little regret.)

Audio Book is out in the US

Waited for this to come out on Audio. It’s a very well spoken well written book about another crazy person who believes the rest of us believe their tales. Thrilled it came out on audio.

Fun and sharp book in Meghan

Yes this book is critical of Meghan yet it made me like her a bit more. I understand and sort of admire her willingness to push herself ahead.

Yet she and Harry seriously miscalculated how her grievances would affect the Royal Family and how their demands for Lifestyle support and the use of titles would undermine their claims.

They can’t have it all.

Could only listen to the first two chapters.

Clearly this was written to defame Megan and make her appear self absorbed and spoiled. It is obvious that the Royals do not support women with thoughts and opinions.

Salacious slant on a troubling and sad family tale.

This book made me sad, especially in light of the passing of QE2. As with most “divorces” the truth is subjective. Hard pass.

Undisguised loathing

Listen, I am not the biggest fan is Harry and Meghan. They seem pretty immature and narcissistic but this author didn’t even try to conceal his disgust for them. This whole book was filled with a hatred and contempt that was pretty gross. If you’re going to write a book, how about showing both sides of the story and maybe include some truth and facts. A palace “insider” and endless “sources” don’t sell it for me. I’d give it zero stars if possible, a wwaste it time.

Must read!

Great book. I think MM and Harry made the right decision to step down. Their fundamental values are not in line with the Royal family. The royals work for the people but MM works for herself. She was never going to hack it. She is irrelevant in the US and in England. She really messed up.

Heartbreaking

As an objective reader, this broke my heart. For anyone who’s experienced a narcissist splitting your family in two it’s going to break your heart. Until Her Majesty passed away I had no idea who Meghan Markle even was, but then my friend started telling me all the “gossip” and pouring tea from the rumor mills. It’s interesting, I’ll give you that.

Watching Harry and William interact, and eventually Kate too, was something I came to love. The brothers are truly that, you can tell it goes beyond the camera. Anyways, I read Finding Freedom and it just felt so superficial and even a little defensive - the whole, “woe is me!” And “you’re racist” makes me absolutely sick. But, it does make sense that Meghan would use the R card when especially in a time it’s all the rage for Americans.

This book was so far removed from a smear campaign, as one review claimed. To me it’s the truth, offered by sources who can back it up, otherwise you KNOW Meghan would be having attorneys all of it.

I feel terrible for the Queen, who’s last years were missed out in with her grandson and great grandchildren. I feel even worse for William, who I’m sure misses his brother terribly. And, resentfully. I feel sorry for Harry. Meghan took him thru all the narcissistic stages and now he’s isolated from everyone and everything he ever knew.

Tom Bower did a fantastic job at righting the wrongs done to the Royal’s. They’re not without their faults but they didn’t deserve what they got from their own son, brother, grandson, and his viciously cunning, self absorbed, meticulously and methodically manipulating wife.

What the Heck?

I have never read a more vindictive trashing of a human. Any attempts seem fair by dropping unrelated compliments were awkward and contrived. I don’t know why people can’t see her as human. Ambitious? Maybe, so what? Perfect? Nope. Are you? I know I’m not. Listen this is NOT Wallis 2.0. If anyone tried to smear 3/4 of us they could dig up plenty. I bought the book to see if she was really such a horrible person. All I got was a book about an earnestly consistent, ambitious actress who put herself out there and got the life she wanted. This is so much more about Royalist va American values. She made a deal with the devil and this was the result but my god, she’s not Satan!
