Absolutely Fantastic!!!

Let me just say, to own the Slay series on audible is so worth the money and hours I was plugged in and listened to the most fantastic series of Laurelin Paige I have ever listened to. The story is complete, fully fleshed out, so very interesting, and the narrators were perfect and brought everything to my attention and held me mesmerized from the first word to last. If you have found Hudson and Celia fascinating from previous stories then you definitely need the Slay series to give you completion. So kudos Laurelin this series went over the top!

Business dealings

Not enough of the characters past explained until the end. I don't like the week wife who let's her husband control much of her life at home with him.

Edward's Revenge

This was also a very good book but after completing all four books, I feel they could have been combined into one very meaty book or two books instead of four. After a while, I just wanted things to move along a little more quickly. Edward was all about revenge. It took over his entire life. I must admit though that he took care of those he loved. Both Edward and Celia had secrets they did not tell each other. Edward eventually told her about his and Celia’s secret comes knocking at her door and Edward was able to put it together. He left her for a few days. He was annoying with that. Edward said “Do not underestimate the power of a rich white man” when he needed to get rid of the body of his sister’s attacker. Unfortunately, he is so right. No charges were filed and they authorities said the victim died of something totally different than how he actually died. I did not care of Hudson or his wife Alayna. This series is well worth the time to read/listen to all four books. Shane East and Elene Wolfe did an amazing job with the narration.

INSANE INTENSE, EPIC & ABSOLUTELY AWESOME

I’ve just finished the fourth book in this Slay Quartet series and wow, it’s been an intense, insane, rollercoaster ride with sheer dips, sharp curves, treacherous 90 degree turns and emotional loops that’s sure to get your pulse pounding. And, as these enemies push n pull one another’s thresholds, they slowly learn each other’s weaknesses, emotional boundaries, sexual desires and limits. But it also brings up some dark secrets too.

This is a multi-layered intense story as their sizzling chemistry sparks, smoulders and smokes in an arranged marriage that certainly doesn’t rush to the HEA and I’m so glad I waited until all four books were available because the cliffhangers were brutal. I lost a lot of sleep because I just didn’t want to stop listening to this addictive story. It was hard-won steps forward leading to shocking surprises and many steps back. It was brutal moves and manipulations leading to emotional clashes and confrontations. It was a dark and deliciously tense storyline. It was kinky.. and definitely h.h.hot. And it was a tense highly-charged rollercoaster.

Both characters had impenetrable armour protecting them from feeling.. both were complex initially cruel individuals.. both had tightly-held secrets which were slowly revealed.. and both were absolutely perfect for each other after their long battle and character growths. In the first book, told from the Celia’s PoV, Edward is a sexy, dark anti-hero and is absolutely unapologetically despicable - but thankfully we get to hear his POV in the other three books and there’s good character growth which was good. Awesome narration brought the stings and the passion, the twisted colorful characters, the levels and layers, the sour and the sweet, the lust and the love.. and all the weaves in the well-written chapters to life.

Worth a credit? This outstanding, complex, epic Quartet would absolutely definitely be worth 4 credits. but yay 2 are free with Escape so even better ;)

Dragon or little bird, a story of true transformation

This series was both more and less than I expected it to be. when I first started it I absolutely detested Celia, I wanted her to "die in a fire" for the things she did to Alayna, but after taking this journey with her and Edward I understand how she got there. Edward was someone I thought I would love from snippets before the first books release, throughout the journey I didn't like his obsession with his somewhat personal need for revenge. Like only he could deliver, being peoples trial, judge and jury. I knew this last book I would need to see a change in him. While his progression this entire book was definitely steps forward I was so angry in some of his treatments to Celia. But I know we take our our anger the most in those we can't live without. my feelings never changed about Celia's father, but the docile woman that is her mother, the only word that comes to mind is pathetic. Can I just say, I'm not crazy about their daughters name, sorry. Lol. I'm glad Edward was able to see who was the center of his life, how it should have always been, not revenge.

Listening to Shane East was the highlight of this journey for me, I think his voice has become my new obsession!

Really good like book one. Throw book 3 out.

I wish there could have been more peace for Celia as far as Hudson’s wife. And I wish Celia would have bitch slapped her.

The perfect ending to an epic love story.

Oh my life, she sure knows how to bring everything together in the end. Laurelin has coaxed us along on Celia and Edward’s journey to the perfect ending. Yes, they get their HEA, but man did they have to work for it. Slowly as we get through book 4 of the quartet, we have each secret revealed and we’re compelled more and more to be on TEAM CELIA. The bedroom antics are at an all time scorchfest, but the feelings that you feel are raw and deep and primal.

Yes, Celia has lived through trauma, but she is thriving because Edward brings out the best in her and helps her to be strong. They use their powers for good and justice is a dish served cold.

It was nice to see a smattering of characters from other books make cameos in this one. The relationship between Celia and Hudson was always a complex one and we now understand Celiea’s side of the story.

So yeah, I completely misunderstood her but grew to love her. Can you believe I loved this couple even more than Alayna and Hudson from the FIXED series?

This is an epic love story that Elena and Shane deliver whole heartedly. Once again they make us FEEL all the FEELINGS. There is compassion and lust, anxiety and love, deceit and redemption and they compel us to feel it ALL.

Amazing end to this story!

Ms. Paige has an amazing way of tying so many stories together! In book 4 we find parallels to the latest Hudson book. I loved reliving these moments from another characters viewpoint.

Celia and Edward's story concludes in a fantastic way. They have found their revenge and now they need to move forward together. The way that they find common ground and find the strength of their love was truly awesome to read. I couldn't believe that Ms. Paige was able to redeem Celia! This was a most hated character in my mind, but I feel like I understand her so much better now.

Another amazing story comes to an end. Great read!

The narrators did a great job bringing this story to life!

What an ending!

This review will cover books 2-4. Everything kind of blended for me, and I couldn't distinguish between these three books. AMAZING STORY, AND BEAUTIFUL ENDING!

There's so much action going on in these three books. From Celia's uncle to Edward's ex-wife, Edward's grown children finding their way in the world. When add in Hudson Pierce and his wife, Elena. this is one couple that needs some alone time.

Celia and Daniel are both broken, and I think that lends to their strong pull whether they're fighting or getting along. Having been this rebel for years, she doesn't realize how much she needs Edward's command. Granted, his ways are seriously on the warped side, but I believe his intentions were kind of honorable once they got past their rough patch from the island. But things aren't all sunshine and roses w/the Fassbender couple. Celia is still holding secrets, and so is Edward. Both quite stubborn in their ways, they learn how much they need each other.

Edward and Celia's love is a hard-fought one, and as much as they disagree, they'll come to each other's defense in a heartbeat. They've both taught one another how to love the right way; the way that works for them.

I really enjoyed this series, and I hate I waited so long. Shane East and Elena Wolfe were amazing in their narration. These two have a gift of inhabiting the characters they narrate, and it lends to such a wonderful aural experience. I urge you to read the Fixed series so you can get and appreciate the full effect of Celia's redemption.

Good conclusion VG series.

Heard episode 1 as part of a bundle all of which led to further episodes.

This story very good with good characters and a strong if at times very dark storyline but compelling with the first 3 ending on cliff hangers.

The story tellers both have voices that fit into the natation.

a brilliant end!

Laurelin has hit the nail on the head with this perfect ending to the slay series. gutted that it's the end to the fixed saga. I've read or listened to all of the Stories and Novellas from Laynie and Hudson, Celia and Edward, Chandler and Genevieve, Gwen and JC to Patricia and Nate. All have been superb!

A perfect ending

I'm so glad I waited till I had all four books before I began reading this series. It would have been torture otherwise. The ups and downs the characters faced were delightful and hard all at the same time. The narration was so good Elena Wolfe was Celia in every way. Shane East bought his pzazz to Edward and totally embodied the character. The ending though with the reconciliation was Hudson Pierce rounded off the story entirely. It bought Celia that much needed peace and acceptance she always strived for.
