Publisher's Summary

A second chance, single dad rock star romance that can be listened to as a stand-alone.

A single father who lost his dream.

A broken rock star about to lose her career.

An epic second chance that will blow up an entire industry.

When acclaimed rock band Burn Card loses their lead singer to a solo career, band founder Liberty Blake fears she’s about to lose everything else as well. Forget the fact that he didn’t just betray the band - he also destroyed her heart.

Four years ago, talented front man Mason West was poised to explode onto the music scene. Until personal tragedy forced him to give everything up to care for his infant daughter.

With two worlds falling apart, a surprising offer could give a struggling single father a second chance and a broken rock star a new reason to believe.

Because maybe it’s not about falling down.

Maybe it’s about getting back up.

TISSUES NEEDED !!

Loved it!!...first time listening to an audio by author Aly Stiles...can't wait for the rest of the series.. Couldn't put it down...stayed up the entire nite to finish it...As usual, I love Jacob's narration...his voice is pure magic, he puts sooo much feeling into his acting that you could close your eyes and feel like you are right there...especially love his depiction of a child's voice, so cute...will also be watching for further audio books narrated by newcomer Nadia Noble...loved her expressive voice, however, her male voice interpretation still needs some work, but in all, I loved listening to her...

Give me a minute!

This was an amazing story. I am still sobbing as I type this. And the narrator's? They made these characters even more endearing. And let's not even talk about the overwhelming cuteness of Jacob's Brooklyn voice ❤️ So beautiful to read a book that shows what it is really like to rise up from the ashes.

OH MY!! 💜

Finally!! I’ve been in a book slump for so long I thought about giving up on reading. Then this little gem comes and I was hooked from hello. Superb narration and a true love story. Love for what was, what could be, and a 4 year old named Brooklyn. This is my first read by Aly Stiles and I will be looking for more books written by her.

Favourite listen of 2021!

Wow!! Incredible book!

Jacob Morgan and Nadia Noble were perfection in their narration! The emotion, passion and feels their story telling gave me blew my mind. These two deserve awards for their performances!

Mason and Liberty’s love story is so beautiful and so uniquely written. Aly Stiles is an incredible writer. I was addicted to this story and could not stop listening from the moment I began until the end. The storyline is unique and unlike any other rock star romance I‘ve ever read. The music and lyrics spoke to my soul in such a real and raw way. The character growth is what I loved so much about Mason and Liberty. They both are healing from their past and the changes in them from past to present was beautiful to see develop. Mason has such a sweet side to him. He is an amazing father to his daughter Brooklyn and is a talented musician who is rising above after some tough times. He struggles internally and is dealing with a broken heart. His character is so broken but so beautiful and Liberty is the perfect person to bring him out of that pain. She truly sees him and his heart and is just want he never knew he needed.

Liberty is a confident strong woman also dealing with some pain from her own past. Together they create a connection so real you can’t help but fall hopelessly in love. The love story between these two will leave a long lasting impression on me and I will not forget these characters for a long time to come.

I cannot wait for Falling North next!

A little rushed, but great!

I struggle with books that have depth and really could have even more, but instead of diving in they just scratch the surface. Instead of adding to the book there were a bunch of things that were just tied up in the epilogue. Rushed!
Overall it was a good book. Jacob Morgan is always great. I think this my first listen with Nadia Noble. She did a great job! I hope to hear her on some more books!

excellent

I typically don't write reviews but for this book, I must. The narration was excellent, this is my first time listening to Nadia Noble and she killed it! Jacob Morgan was fabulous as always. The story had every emotion and parts actually had me tearing up. Took me a few chapters to understand the opening to each chapter, once I did, it added another layer to the story telling. I thought it was brilliant!

Took a little to get used to.

I’ve read this book several times, I live it so much. When I noticed there was an audio book, I knew I couldn’t pass it up. I am glad I didn’t. I enjoyed getting to know Mason all over again. I loved taking that journey with him as he discovered who he was. I lived how the audio really allowed me to get inside Mason’s head and feel everything he felt. It did take a little to get used to the voice of Mason, though.
I struggled with the narrator who nareated Masn’s perspective. It felt monotone to me at first, and even when I got into the book, I still felt there were some areas where emotion wasn’t portrayed enough. That through me off since so much of Mason’s story is emotional. I also couldn’t come to terms with how he voiced Brooklyn during Mason’s parts. I get that it is difficult for a male to voice a four year old girl but it sounded to me like he gave Brooklyn a disability.
I loved the person who voice Katrina and Liberty though I have to say if it hadn’t been for her saying it was Libetty, I may not have been able to tell the difference.
I did enjoy the audio once I got into it thpugh and I will likely listen again because I live Mason’s story so much. I hope the author does audios for the other three books in this series.

Good Rock Star listen!

Aly Stiles is a new to me author. Good story about Mason, the singer who almost didn't fulfill his dream of becoming a rock star. He was a single dad & lost so much. Loved the chemistry between Mason & Liberty. Awesome narration by Jacob Morgan & Nadia Noble (A new narrator to me, really enjoyed her!)

ok for light

first time read with this author and it intrigued me from chapter 1 with the past and present rolling out through the chapters. it gives you insight to the hero but still...o feel the emotional part of the storyline is choppy. some descriptions are heavy, gritty, and poignant at times but then the next chapter gives me airs that all is kinda gets pushed aside in to the lighter side of acceptance .
hot scenes aren't really hot, although innuendo is there. body description ...except for Mr hero is kinda not there. so I'm imagining in more places than not.
I just found it lacked gritty punch which you kinda need in %90 of the cutthroat music world.
J. bengtsson and CAKE, now that's an in your face gut wrenching rock book. and kylie Scott's stage dive series has awesome grit.
all in all it flowed and had some poignant words and moments.
can't say enough about Jacob...just sigh!!!💜💜💜💜 and first listen to Nadia...beautiful voice.
