Awesome book, different narrator please
This book made me cry through the last 30 minutes. It is a well told story that I couldn't put down. The narrator, on the other hand, was annoying. He tried much too hard on the southern accents and most of them came out sounding like those comedians that make fun of rednecks. It was pretty bad and I'm not that hard to impress as far as narration goes. Just read the book.

I wanted to love this book; but couldn't :(
What did you like best about Riven? What did you like least?
Wonderful story of sin and forgiveness and God's love and pursuit of us. What i liked least is that the narrator's voice was so wrong for this book that i couldn't even finish it. I wanted to love this book so bad! If you were to get a different narrator, i would gladly buy it again.
What did you like best about this story?
Jerry Jenkins is a wonderful writer, i love all his books.
How could the performance have been better?
A different narrator! Narrator used the same manly cranky voice for the preacher's wife AND the children. I never knew who was speaking, it was terrible. I could only finish half of the book; his voice was so grating on my nerves.

Riven is Excellent
Jerry Jenkins is such a gifted author/writer. This book is so exceptional in the character development and subilties that line its pages. I'm enjoying the narrator and have no problem with his reading at all. After awhile his voice is that of any other southern personality. I'm in the first book with two more sections yet to go and already don't want to see it end because the issues the characters are involved with could be me or someone in my family and I know Jerry Jenkins is using this book to answer spiritual needs with God's Word. I recommend this as a gift to those you love who enjoy a good book on the road. I'm walking more so I can listen to it more.
