Publisher's Summary

New York City, 1922.

Harp Devereaux is torn. Part of her desperately wants to return to Ireland to finish what she and her family and friends started and to witness the departure of the British forces from Ireland after eight hundred long years. But the other part finds life in America during the Roaring Twenties too exciting to trade for the sleepy streets of County Cork.

She and John Joe are united and determined to sample all that life after the Great War has to offer, but life Stateside is not as free and easy as Harp first imagines, and soon she finds herself longing for the simplicity of her homeland.

She wants to live life on her own terms, but life is never simple on either side of the Atlantic, and there are sinister forces at work determined to bring them all down.

Many twists and turns

I have enjoyed each book in this series. Sometimes I have actually skipped the closing book in some series as it had bad reviews and I wanted to leave the series loving the characters. Have no fears, this book will wrap it up with the characters remaining true to themselves. There are shocks and disappointments but in the end you will understand why it had to be. The reader does such an excellent job you forget there is not a live cast reading this. The story is captivating at every turn and the characters are so real you wish you could go visit them. It will definitely be a series I will listen to again in the future.

Great Series

I really enjoyed the entire series! Worth the time! The characters were well written and I enjoyed all of them! Great historical fiction! I learned a lot about Queenstown/Cork and did my own research to learn more! I hope to go there one day!

Loved this series

I so loved this series that I didn't want it to end. I've visited Ireland once but didn't get to County Cork or Cobh. It is definitely on my bucket list for my next visit. I also thoroughly enjoyed the narrator. Looking forward to more.

Another Great Read

I am so sad that the Queenstown series is finished. Seeing Harp grow up and deal with life's challenges and her ability to survive each one has been a wonderful adventure. I will miss Rose, Matt, JohnJo, and rest of the family. Jean Grainger has done a fantastic job of drawing us into each of the characters lives. She also did a great job of making me really dislike one character immensely. Siobhan was amzing in her narrating. Thank You!!!

A Satisfying Resolution

A satisfying ending to an enchanted series. The story was peppered throughout with an almost agonizing suspense, but the character of Harp always relieved any gloom. Though at times the outcome of the tale threatened to be disastrous, it resolved itself with a satisfying ending, leaving the reader reluctant to part with the ever whimsical and lovable Harp Devereux.

Trucking Fan

I grew up in Belfast but have spent the last 19 years in Australia. I drive a truck, interstate between Brisbane and Melbourne, a distance of 1800 klms (approx 18hrs), each way. Audiobooks are my daily lifesaver, to provide much-needed diversion on the long hours on the road. I absolutely love Jean Grainger's books, as they are wonderful stories in themselves, superbly crafted and in audio form, they take me back and provide a connection to my beloved Ireland. I have just finished the Queenstown series and have loved all four books. I can't recommend them enough. Thank you Jean for your amazing stories. You have been a dear travelling companion for literally thousands of kilometers.
