Publisher's Summary
Award-winning, rising star thriller author Jamie Freveletti brings a fresh and female voice to Covert-One with her new novel!
With US intelligence agencies wracked by internal power struggles and paralyzed by bureaucracy, the president was forced to establish his own clandestine group - Covert-One. It is activated only as a last resort, when the threat is on a global scale and time is running out.
The Janus ReprisalIt begins with a terrorist attack. Covert-One operative Colonel Jon Smith is attending a conference in The Hague on infectious diseases, together with leading scientists and political figures from around the world. Without warning, the conference hotel is consumed in a bloodbath. Smith is caught in the crossfire and barely escapes...but not before discovering a picture of himself and two other targets in the pocket of one of the shooters.
But the hotel is not the only location under attack in The Hague. Bombs are going off at the train station, the airport, and the International Criminal Court, where Pakistani warlord Oman Dattar is being held while he's tried for crimes against humanity. In the resulting chaos, the prisoner escapes.
Dattar nurses a special hatred for the United States and its allies. With his freedom, and access to a mysterious new weapon, Dattar puts in motion a murderous, ambitious plot to exact his revenge and bring down the West once and for all - unless Covert-One can stop him.

Smith, John Smith.... shaken, not stirred
Jamie Freveletti does a great job continuing the Robert Ludlum Cover One Series & Jeff Woodman does the audio production proud!
As normal it is John Smith & his merry people with a few new faces against the world and this time against other US agencies.
I am very happy they keep finding new tasks for Marty. Not only does he provide some levity (my favorite scenes of him are in the next book, The Utopia Experiment) but also shows how someone with an impairment can still bloom, grow & make a significant impact.
My only disappointment was when the President told Fred Klein the plan of action, thought that was out of character for both of them.
I enjoyed the tongue & cheek references to the 007, James Bond series.
This is still one of my favorite series. Thanks to the Ludlum foundation for keeping this series going.

Great Read
If you could sum up Robert Ludlum's (TM) The Janus Reprisal in three words, what would they be?
Exciting, realistic and great characters
What did you like best about this story?
The plot line was good and the characters interesting yet consistent with prior characters. You really care about John Smith and I wish Peter Howard would have had a bigger role. Will we see Noland again--I hope so
What about Jeff Woodman’s performance did you like?
The reader was excellent--and the expressions good.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
From the headlines of today
Any additional comments?
I hope Jamie writes more. He is the best Covert One author since Gayle Lunds

Can't wait for the next one!!
Would you listen to Robert Ludlum's (TM) The Janus Reprisal again? Why?
Yes I already have read it again..more than once.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I listen to these as I work. It kept me very focused on the story. Did not want to pause it even when necessary.
What about Jeff Woodman’s performance did you like?
The performance is half of the story. I have already turned down a book because of the performance of the narrator. The narrator was very good and I would listen again to his performance.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Made me laugh at times. I know this series (have it all) and really enjoy it.
Any additional comments?
Like I said earlier...can't wait for the next one, and many more!

Not actually Ludlum but fun just the same!
Would you listen to Robert Ludlum's (TM) The Janus Reprisal again? Why?
Yes. I love the Covert One characters
What other book might you compare Robert Ludlum's (TM) The Janus Reprisal to and why?
The Haddes Factor
What about Jeff Woodman’s performance did you like?
He kept true to the characters but has added his own flare. These don't read like an attempt to copy.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Mr. Ludlum would be proud of this one.
Would you listen to Robert Ludlum's (TM) The Janus Reprisal again? Why?
Yes, I would listen to it again. The plot is complicated, and some of the names are confusing to me, so I probably missed parts of the story that I would catch the second time. It is also a great story, and well worth a second listen.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Robert Ludlum's (TM) The Janus Reprisal?
The last half hour is the most satisfying but I would give the ending away if I described it. There are a number of exciting scenes throughout the story. It is never slow or dull.
What about Jeff Woodman’s performance did you like?
He is great with voices and accents. You forget it is all the same person.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The story is too involved for a tag line, and a movie would have to cut the book to shreds to fit the time requirements. That's the best part of a book - you don't have to give up the details.
Any additional comments?
I have now listened to every one of the Covert One books. They are all outstanding, with just one exception, but this may be the best of all of them. I will be looking for other books by this author.
