Story
I decided to write an article for people who want to understand the basic rules that are used in meetings. What are these rules? They are the guidelines for conducting a meeting, allowing business to be carried out as smoothly and orderly as possible. Although I will not be able to detail the many nuances and special rules, the basics needed to conduct a meeting are explained that should help a meeting stay on track from start to finish.

Great Short Listen for Business, Government, Etc.
This was a great explanation of Robert's Rules of Order, including it's history and origins. There were practical explanations of how it is used, why it is used, and how to start using it in your organization.
If you are planning to start a community organization, are planning a career in business management, are government employee, or are a part of a student organization at a university, this will definitely be of benefit to you.

Good Information
This listen is a good choice if you are starting up a company, board, or new department within an existing organization. It details step by step how to formalize the charter, bylaws, and choose officers so the group is structured for successful decision making and to avoid on the fly rule changing or power seizure.
To be honest, it wasn't what I was expecting. I was thinking it would be a how to guide for running meetings but this information is invaluable for the reasons I stated above.
Peter Bierma does a decent reading of the material.
