Publisher's Summary

Women who are involved in an affair with a married man often have to walk a balanced tightrope between satisfying their own needs as well as those of the man with whom they're involved. For most women, these affairs usually turn out to be nerve-wracking experiences meandering among emotions such as excitement, thrill, and the fears of rejection and abandonment. This is primarily because these women often don't understand what her partner truly wants from her, emotionally, physically, or even psychologically.

The biggest problem in such an arrangement is that one person often holds more psychological power than the other - and it's usually the married one. This particular imbalance doesn't typically exist - to such a tangible degree - in conventional relationships, where both parties involved have equal amounts to lose or gain. It is this imbalance which often leaves one or both parties confused about their roles and the dynamics in the affair.

The purpose of this audiobook is to help you figure out exactly what your man wants (and needs) from you, and to help you to enjoy your life while maintaining your own sense of integrity and self-esteem.

So, for all you ladies who enjoy walking the spicier road of life, this audiobook will not only help you fulfill your desire of becoming the perfect mate to your married companion, but it will also help you avoid the pitfalls that usually accompany such relationships.

Note: While this audiobook may be targeted primarily toward women in heterosexual relationships, the lessons within it are equally applicable to men as well, irrespective of your sexual orientation.

THE REAL ABOUT THIS BOOK

Chapter 5 is THE BEST chapter of this book. As a married woman, I was curious as to WHY anyone would provide keys to infidelity! It's hard enough to be in a a meaningful relationship without outside influences. I would consider this a good conversation piece for couples and for people who want to GUARD their marriages against women who have NO regard for the sanctity of marriage. IN the end, CHAPTER 5 tell is like it is! This is the GO TO chapter for me!

We have to start somewhere with this topic, but this book leaves a lot more to be said!

At first, I wasn’t sure I was going to review this book, since now we have to post our reviews under a display name, and the subject is such a sensitive one. But in the end, I feel that talking about what is and isn’t working here is Way too important for getting caught up and worries like that – – somebody Hass to do it. Reading this short book made me think about early attempts to talk about other sensitive but important subjects… Race, culture, GLBTQ rights, prostitution, even women’s rights. There were some very good thinkers out there, but they were also those who addressed these issues clumsily, and this book fits in to the latter category. It’s good we’re talking about the topic of being a mistress, something that’s usually left out, dismissed, avoided, assumed to be not worth discussing, considered and feminist… You know the sort of thing. But I would want to caution anyone reading this Book as a source of advice, I would caution you against swallowing it whole. Some of the points it makes have merit, yes, like acknowledging that the role of a mistress requires walking a very fine tight rope between balancing your own needs and those if your partner, reminding you that you are your partners fantasy, cautioning you against expecting too much. But there are other assertions, Such as the statement that you should never tell your family or friends about being involved in an affair with a married partner, that you should never expect pleasure in return for giving it, that I made his blanket statements, not examined, and I fear that statements like this ultimately served a shame a mistress, rather than protect her, to keep her in her place, rather than cautioning her against getting hurt. Also, please be aware that there is not a single statistic in this short book, and no information given about how butler considers himself an expert on the topic. Take what suits you, and leave the rest. At the same time, it is a topic that we need to keep exploring so that there can be some more constructive discussions on how or if or when it is empowering to be a mistress, why someone would choose to become one, and how to honor our own feelings in the role, set good boundaries, and examine what we want and might realistically expect from the relationship. This book would tell you that all mistress/partner relationships are clear-cut and the like, and the simply isn’t true. My hope is that, in future, there can be deeper and better researched popular books that examine these relationships, and that, like much of the good scholarship that exists about social sub groups, that they might be undertaken by insiders to the experience.

boldly honest but also helpful in ways you wouldn’t expect

So it would be easy to be offended and upset by some of the opinions here but it’s just plain reality in a nutshell. Saying what you need to hear and not necessarily what you want to here. I loved that it’s not long with tons of examples etc.

Short. Magazine article would be better read

Steeped in patriarchal expectations without compromise or balance this is not for modern women. It gives s very negative view of affairs and is limited on what a man wants. Not helpful to me,
