Publisher's Summary

Would you love to learn Russian or improve your knowledge of the Russian language? If you would, then keep listening!

With over 260 million speakers spread across the world in 38 countries, Russian is one of the world's most spoken languages. What's more, it is considered the language of space. In fact, if you want to become an astronaut, you will have to learn to speak Russian. Aside from NASA, Roscosmos is the largest space agency in the world. Astronauts need a ride on the Soyuz cruise ship to reach the ISS, where half of the components and systems on board are described in Russian.

Do you want to learn Russian - and learn it well?

Do you want to learn it from native speakers who understand all the nuances and intonations that come only from being a native speaker of a language?

Do you want to be able to speak Russian without sounding robotic and...well...just strange?

If you do, this audiobook has everything you need to learn Russian the right way, i.e., learning it by listening to real Russian speakers who use the language in everyday conversation!

Here is what you will find in the audiobook:

  • Russian stories that touch on a variety of topics
  • A vocabulary at the end of every story to help you to understand the meaning of different words being used in the stories
  • Powerful tips and tricks that will help you grasp what is being said and that you will be able to use in your everyday situations
  • And there is much more!

You will soon realize that speaking Russian like a native is not as hard as you may have thought. Everything is simple and exciting - and will make you want to keep going!

A must buy. Thank you Kristina.

This audiobook is excellent value for money and it’s easy to see that the author has put a lot of hard work into these stories. I tried to find contact details of the author (Kristina Silvestrov) to thank her for her work and to ask her if she is planning on releasing anymore of these great books as they are extremely useful for Russian language learners. I even contacted Audible customer services but there weren’t able to give me any contact details. I hope that she does release more. Please find my review below.

Purchasing the Audible book gives you access to an accompanying PDF, of the written story. This makes the purchase extremely good value for money, and whilst some authors of books include audio with their book, a lot of books now sell both the audio and book separately, which means it can get very expensive. So this PDF is extremely appreciated.

There is a good amount of stories, and not only this, each one also has a good length to it. They are not rushed short stories but in-depth stories. I also like that there are no stress marks on the text. I understand why some learners may want them, however I feel that it is best to learn how to read real Russian without the stress marks and to learn how to pronounce each word, this is very easy to do with the audio. I also appreciate text without stress marks as I copy the PDF text into a reader app that I have that allows me to read the text and to highlight unknown words, to easily translate them.

This Audible book has a separate track for English and Russian. This is extremely useful, especially as ones Russian improves and they have no need to listen to the English (which can waste a lot of time, as it’s or easy in the PDF and if you have a higher level of Russian one would not want to have to listen to English) this is great as one can just select to listen to the Russian. Equally, because of the way this Audiblebook has been set out, someone could reverse learn, I.e. from Russian to English.

Learning through reading and story books (with audio) is one of the best ways to learn more vocabulary and to improve your abilities in that language. I would guess the level of these audiobooks is around A2/B1. (I class myself as A1 and found some of it a little difficult currently but with mass exposure to content around my level through books like this I hope to improve)

The format of the books is absolutely perfect, and I like the layout a lot. And I would recommend anyone serious about learning Russian to try this fun method of learning with these great stories.

I purchased all three of the books from this author and hope that Kristina continues to release more, as I will for sure buy them. I will also recommend these audiobooks to others learning Russian. I hope this review was useful to someone and many thanks to Kristina Silvestrov, Спасибо большое!
