Publisher's Summary

Heavy lies the crown....

I thought getting my revenge would give me some kind of peace. Instead, it seems to have brought an even worse villain to my doorstep.

Or rather, to the Nobles’ doorstep, which the big boss of Paradise Bend’s most powerful gang is not at all happy about. I may have won over Wylder Noble and his men, but his father is another story entirely.

A brutally murderous story.

Stuck between a vicious gang king and a psychotic stalker set on total domination, I’m not sure yet whether I’m going to win this war or go down fighting. If I fall, will these men who’ve set my body on fire - and somehow worked their way into my heart - fall with me?

Not if Mercy Katz has anything to say about it.

I’m the heir to my father’s throne, and I’m going to wear the hell out of that crown as long as I’m still breathing.

Ruthless Queen is the third book in a new gritty contemporary romance series from best-selling author Eva Chase (writing as Eva Chance) and Harlow King. No major triggers, but be prepared for domineering men who make their own rules, a rebellious heroine who's not afraid to get her hands dirty, and an enemies-to-lovers romance where the girl gets all the guys. It's going to be a wild, bloody ride!

Better and Better!!

Usually books in a series lose some steam as the series goes on. Not this one. This series has kept me interested from the beginning! The narration was still just as good as the first 2. I can’t wait to see what happens in the last book!

She is being stalked by a psychopath

Mercy thought her ex-fiance was her biggest problem in Paradise Bend, turns out she was wrong. There is even a bigger threat, some lunatic named Xavier is after her and she isn't even sure why. Ezra Noble has kicked her out of the Noble mansion and now she has nowhere to live. The Katz heir still has her four lovers and they haven't totally deserted her. She has enough street smarts to spy on the two main gangs currently in residence in the Bend and try to figure out what is going on. But then Ezra puts a hit out on her and one of her guys gets caught in Xavier's headquarters. She's going to have to find more help if she's going to stay alive.

Book 3 - Very good, but editor should be fired.

I don’t tend to nit pick and rarely complain.

But this is a good story, which makes it especially disappointing when the author repeatedly makes mistakes in wording that has characters saying the opposite of what is obviously intended.

I’ll need to go back to find precise examples, but here is what I mean:

Imagine Mercy being mad because she doesn’t think one of the boys thinks she can handle herself in a fight. When trying to convince her she’s wrong, he says:

“I would never not doubt your abilities!”

This has happened several times in each book and you’d think an editor would pick up on it.

such an amazing audioseries

This series has me hooked line and sinker. I absolutely love Mercy and how she navigates what happened to her as well as the men in her life. The narrators do an amazing job giving each character a pretty distinct voice as well as nailing the emotions in this story.

The development is amazing, I am really invested in this series and the ending has me craving the next book. High time to get to that big finale!

Good story

Mercy is back in another thrilling installment of her story. The story moves a bit slower than previous books but does move along nicely and does have action in it.

It just keeps getting better and better ❤️

I was nervous about where the authors were going to go with this but loved it so much, all the twists and turns. I liked getting to see some of the backstory that we hadn't gotten yet, seeing how the various gangs ended up in Mercy's town, people getting hurt left and right for the struggle in power. Loved seeing Mercy step up, even though some were lost and more injured, it was good to see her rally her guys and try and get more info about what was really going on. I loved see Wylder stand up to his dad and what happened in the showdown at the end made me smile and laugh (might be a bad person for that, but that character deserved it!). I liked how twisted the baddie was and how he kept getting to Mercy. I appreciated Gideon trying to step up and pull more weight (even then it totally wasn't necessary since he is their IT whiz) and loved how Mercy and the guys were able to come through at the end. I thought the group steamy scene was fabulous 🔥🔥🔥. I will say the final coming together with Mercy and Rowan didnt feel as truthful/flow didnt feel as right for some reason. I think Wylder jumped for me in my favorite list and Kaige's backstory and sweet moments with Mercy made the story even better. Great job by the authors at mixing, grit, steam, romance, action, and emotional moments!!

In terms of narration, another great job by these narrators at bringing Mercy and the Nobles to life. I thought both did a great job with the other side characters (since we met more from the various gangs in this one). They truly brought the characters to life in my minds' eye. I felt like I was in the Bend and all the suspense was around me haha. J.F and Ava's perspective and performances were fantastic and will definitely listen to them in the future, that's for sure.

I will say I am intrigued to see Ezra get what's coming to him after how he treated Mercy. Can't wait for book 4 to be on audio next year ❤️

Great series!

If I start a series in audio, then usually I continue the series in audio and skip reading the ebooks. This time, I admit, that I cheated and read the ebook because I had to know what happened. However, my love of the narrators had me jumping to get this book in audio so that I could hear them read it to me because I love them so flipping much. I can't wait to listen to the last book.

This dark series is incredible.

As Mercy gets to know her men more secrets are unraveling at each turn. A fantastic addition to the series.

The Best One Yet - But Another Cliffhanger

Having listened to the first two books in this series and enjoyed them immensely I really wanted to listen to this instalment which keeps the action going at a fast pace and elevates the level of mystery and intrigue. The characters are further developed and have become much more realistic and dare I say likeable? X, the mysterious character we met in the final chapter of book two continues his threats against Mercy and the Nobles. But why is he here? Who is his boss?

Whilst there's an all-out war raging in the Bend Ezra, Wilder's father, blames it on Mercy and banishes her from the Nobel mansion and then orders Wylder to kill her or else! He also tries subverting the loyalty of members of Wylder's team which when you think about their closeness is a nonstarter. So much happened in this book which again ends on a huge cliffhanger, none of which I can tell you or hint at without spoiling the whole story, but suffice to say in my opinion this one is the best book so far and I can't wait for the next book!

The narration by J.F. Harding and Ava Lucas is excellent, they really bring the characters to life and enhance my enjoyment of the story.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review,
