Nice

I read this book but then I decided to get on Audible it's a beautiful stop about struggles and going tru a health problem with a little sweet adorable girl! The only thing I really was desapointed was the narrator what a sexy voice but sounded like a robot! I had to speed the voice so I would be able to listen to the end it's a shame though it's a nice story about love and sacrifices!

long and very written

The beginning was slow and i thought "oh no I've wasted my credit ". But honestly by the end i wanted more. The play by play cage fight had me on the edge of my seat.loved this book!

Amazing

Would you consider the audio edition of Sacrifice to be better than the print version?

I did not read the print version I jumped right into the audio and glad I did. Sacrifice was the first audio book I listened to I was scared to as like most readers we have the characters set in our minds and if the voice doesn't match we tend to not like the book

What other book might you compare Sacrifice to and why?

Sacrifice is a one of a kind boom for me so far.
If I have to classify it I'd say Fighter, HEA, heart breaking, love triangle, family drama, first love ☺

Which character – as performed by Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott – was your favorite?

CREW GENTRY.... having the book take place in Boston where I am from had me nervous as people tend to overdue our accent. But Wen nailed it

The whole book moved me but epilouge 1 killed me

An Emotional Read

What did you love best about Sacrifice?

The love that was conveyed through out the story.

What other book might you compare Sacrifice to and why?

I can't think of any to compare to this. I haven't read any books that dealt with this situation.

Which scene was your favorite?

I had a couple favorite scenes one was when Crew and Everleigh shaved their heads and the second epilogue.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book was very emotional to me there were some places in the book that made me laugh, but there were some that had tears in many eyes and some that made me cry.

Any additional comments?

This is the first book I have read/listened to by Adriana Locke I enjoyed this book it dealt with issues and struggles that a lot of people face in their life. This book shows that love and sacrafice can prevail. Also excellent narration by Kai and Wen.

I don't generally compare books to each other, unless they are in a series or by the same author. I think all authors have something different to give

Which scene was your favorite?

I think my favorite scene was probably when Ever was explaining to Crew and Julia why Crew was her daddy. Her innocence was so adorable.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Crew and Ever shaved their heads together. I was driving down the highway crying (I listen to audiobooks while driving)

These narrators did a fantastic job! I love how they conveyed so much emotion in their narration.

Heart wrenching and sexy!!!!!

What made the experience of listening to Sacrifice the most enjoyable?

The emotion put behind each scene that made feel exactly what the characters were feeling.

What did you like best about this story?

The moment I started listening I could feel the heavy emotional ties and the heartbreak that what meant to be portrayed but the moment Crew wrapped his arms around Julie and held her I could get why she was hesitant but I also felt a deep underlying attraction and that was the moment I held onto.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scene where Crew brings groceries to Julie and Everleigh and when Julie isn't looking he slips Everleigh the candy bar and tells her to hurry before she gets caught with candy before dinner.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Her heart broke once but would it happen again?!?!

As always I love the narration by Kai and Wen!!!!

NOT A FEEL-GOOD LISTEN. 80% HEARTBREAK 20% ROMANCE

Julia has really been through Hell, her husband Gage has been dead for 2 years now and, apart from still being heartbroken, she is a broke yet hardworking devoted Mother to 5 year old Everleigh. Julia has another problem - it is that her handsome womanising brother-in-law Crew is always coming around to see his niece and Julia hates it, resents him and she blames him for so much..... including once breaking her heart because he was her first love. But when she gets some tragic news it's Crew that comes swiftly to her rescue and makes the ultimate sacrifice for love.

The cover was powerful, the plot sounded good but unfortunately it was a very depressing look into the lives of a family unit as they got the devastating news of a once happy child as she's struck down with Cancer. There's a blow-by-blow account of the pain-filled depressive and exhausting days, the prognosis and the terrible decisions that follows. Coupled with the affect that the harrowing chemotherapy has on a little body and the heartache and emotional strain that's put on Julia and Crew who have to put on a brave face, come to terms with the events and make some hard choices. Because Crew (an ex MMA Fighter) is coming back into the Cage after his forced retirement (on medical grounds) after making an extraordinary unwavering hero-worthy decision to help and he knows it could not only threaten his health but endanger his life too.... but he is all too willing to sacrifice himself for the love of his two girls.

There is, eventually, romance, tender stolen moments and deep emotional sex scenes but the overpowering feeling of the pending loss of Everleigh or Crew..... or even both of them was very emotional, sad and not really the type of listen that I like to escape into. Coupled with this is the dual narration of Kai and Wen who I usually love and I've listened to most books they've done together but I cannot understand what happened to Wen's narration because he...... would pause at the end of sentences...... all the time which breaks....... up the flow and leads..... to annoying silences and abrupt...... endings to thoughts and conversations. And, even on double speed, this was very noticeable, frustrating and distracting.

Worth the credit? For me, because of the content, I have to sadly say NO but I can understand that many listeners will find the powerful message, the second chance romance and the two heartwarming and heartbreaking Epilogues well worth a credit. For some it's going to be an emotional, inspiring, tender and romantic 5 star listen with glowing reviews..... and that's good for them but, hand on heart, I just can't recommend this as the sucker-punches and tears far outweighed any joy so it just wasn't for me.

I Can't Let Go!

This is the most compelling love story I have ever listened to. I listened to this book for the first time about 7 months ago and I just could not forget the characters and their story so I had to listen to it again. The characters grab your heart and don't let go as they journey through life's up and downs. Adriana Locke does an amazing job of capturing your attention with her words and Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott pulls you into all of the emotions between Crew and Jules. These two have had a lifetime of love and heartache and fascinating to see how they come out on the other end.

Definitely worth the credit -- one of my favorite audio books ever (and I have listened to over 1100 audio books).

Way too much whining and crying

I know there is a crisis, but do we have to cry every 15 minutes?! F-bombs in nearly every sentence. Geez, with the whining and bad language, it gets old, ruins the story.

Amazing

Just like the book listening was even better it was absolutely great this one of my favs by Adriane Locke so emotional heartbreaking at times breath taking with every page turn and listening will have u gripping your heart❤️❤️ The characters are easy to love just like the story and the writing fantastic !!Thank u Adriane Locke for bringing one of the best stories to life at a price that I can afford !!👌👌👌✍✍
