Publisher's Summary

Three messengers of the gods each hold a piece of my soul. I won’t let them claim my heart, too.

My people are dying. Our god has abandoned us, leaving us starving and weak. In a desperate attempt to save those I love, I offer up the ultimate sacrifice to our capricious deity. Myself.

He accepts my offering, and I forfeit my life. But when I arrive in the afterworld, a rival god who despises me binds my soul to three beautiful, terrifying men - powerful beings he calls his messengers.

Callum, Echo, and Paris.

I’m little more than an annoyance to them, a lost soul their master has foisted upon them. Still, the bond between us draws me toward them constantly, like a lodestone finding true north, and the more time I spend with these enigmatic men, the more confused my feelings become.

I hate them. I want them. I fear them. I need them.

But no matter what happens, I won’t let myself love them.

Please note: Sacrifice is the first book in the Her Soulkeepers series, a medium-burn reverse harem fantasy with steam, action, and romance that will melt your heart and your panties.

Sexy, Powerful, Fierce - Sage

This book was better than I could have imagined it would be! For those of us who aren't super into Reverse Harems, this is a story that we can get behind! She is an amazing fierce, fiery woman, who is no one's damsel in distress. Sage is such a beautiful soul, she fights for the people in her small town and her family, she fights for what is right, and she fights for herself. This is a girl who doesn't give up, and is willing to fight to the end. Her Messengers are sexy and fun, each has a strong, different personality and they are a fabulously strong team before they even meet her.

Kasi Hollowell is an amazing Narrator! She has a great voice, amazing inflection, and drew me into the story. I loved it and I cannot wait to read/listen to the next 2!!!
Ciera is a fierce woman who is ready to go to hell and back from her sister, literally... This story is a light Reverse Harem (so far!) and features some amazingly sexy and interesting characters. This is a retelling of Dante's Inferno, so you get to enjoy the excitement of the rings of hell while also getting to watch the characters grow and get better. I truly enjoyed this story and would recommend it to anyone who has a love of the paranormal fun in hell!

Hiral Varsani is a great narrator! I had never heard anything from her before, but I really enjoyed her different voices and her narration! I can't wait to listen to the rest of this series!

Great premise

Sage's village is dying. Their god, if he even exists has turned his back on them. After a terrible accident, a desperate sage offers herself as a sacrifice to their god. But when she arrives in the afterworld, she finds herself in the realm of another god. One who hates her god and wants to kill her. The messengers who found her soul when she arrived argue for her life and the god grants their request with a clause. He binds her soul to theirs. So now she is tied through eternity to Callum, Echo, and Paris. She annoys them. They frighten her. Yet they all feel the attraction. And when she needs them, they don't let her down.

This book has a great premise but the execution isn't as successful. There are questions that I assume we will get answers to during the trilogy but they should be posed from the beginning. Why is there such a discrepancy between the lands? Some gods seem generous, others neglectful. Is nothing expected of the gods? It seems there is a clear-cut expectation; the people worship the god, he rewards them. This is not the case. Why does one god hate his brother god so much? The explanation given doesn't work since neither god seems to care much about the people, only about being obeyed and getting their demands met. Why do none of the people question the gods? I assume it's a story device. More problematic is the lack of connection between the men and Sage. Calling her 'little soul' is sweet but not enough to convey any feeling. There is not enough personal interaction between Sage and the men. Because of this, it seems out of character for them to break rules and accompany her back to the human realm. They risk hundreds of years of service, their prestige, and their comfortable lives for a girl they are tied to, not one that they obviously care for. This needs to be rectified in the next book.

Kasie Hollowell does a solid job with the narration. She captures the mood of each scene nicely. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Great start!

This book has all the feels and laughs and hot guys and... Well, everything! It does end on a cliffhanger but it's not too horrible! Sadie Moss is just an amazing writer who knows how to paint a perfect picture in my mind as I listen to or read her books. The narroration in this one was also amazing! It's in my preferred single POV but that shouldn't stop those who prefer muli POV. This is done so well!

Fantasy Reverse Harem Romance

Sacrifice by Sadie Moss is a medium-burn reverse harem fantasy romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Kasi Hollowell. This is the first book in the Her Soulkeepers series.

This is the forth series of Sadie's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. She does an amazing job pulling me into the story. I can't help but binge them in one sitting.

I really enjoyed the relationship that's blooming between Sage, Callum, Echo, and Paris. The book does end on a great cliffhanger and I can't wait to dive into the next book in the series Defiance.

Kasi did a great job on the narration. She really knows how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like reverse harem romances or fantasy romance.

OMG... I LOVE THIS!!!

This audiobook was AMAZING. The story was like nothing I have ever heard before. If that's what happens when you die, Sign me up! (lol). But there really was so much to love about this book. I am so excited that there is another book after this! I'm so curious about what happens next. It did take a few chapters before it really got good, but once it started.... it didn't stop until the last page. And I was so mad when it was over. And the narration was fantastic! I am a huge fan already!

Enter Another World! Excellent Read!!!

This is an imaginative world in which Sage makes the ultimate sacrifice to save her village and her injured brother. Sage is a fierce warrior who has been trying to keep her village fed and alive. When she meets a few fae in the woods, they suggest something she can do to save the village. When she does, it changes everything.

Enter three, hott, sexy warriors because it wouldn't be a sexy RH without them. Callum, Paris, and Echo work for a different God and Sage is in a heap of trouble. The slow burn between these three is set at a simmer as she tries to figure out her place in this new world.

Oh, did I mention, Sadie makes up her own words in this world. It's rather imaginative. For example, Sage likes to say "farsing" and "nish." It fits her characterization so well. The world building and creativity of this story is top notch. The sexy times are too! Sadie Moss writes an excellent story. You will not be disappointed!

Slow but good

This book is a little slow for me.
I wish the narrator would have made the men sound like men instead of teenage boys. Other then that it was a good story.

This storyline is pretty interesting. I like the author and enjoy the worlds she builds. The characters were multi dimensional. The narration was really good. it brought an extra dimension to the novel and helped build the world.

Excellent start

Sage has stood by and watched her people offer sacrifices to Zelus the god they follow and get nothing back from him. They don’t have enough food and crops are failing and people dying so she takes matter into her own hands and sacrifices herself to Zelus. Her sacrifice is pointless as Zelus still doesn’t help her people , she is then found wandering the plain by 3 messengers of a rival god. Kaius hates her because she prays to Zelus and decides she must die. Callum, Echo, and Paris stand up for her and Kaius decides to link a piece of her soul to each of them.
Loved this book and Sage is such a strong defiant women she’s determined her heart won’t go to the 3 men. She decides she needs to go to her family and goes off alone but they follow her and help her heal her brother and in turn causes the wrath of Zelus and starts a war between the 2 rival gods.

Interesting premise

I liked the premise for this: a soul getting lost in the afterlife after sacrificing herself for her village. But I found the main character really whiny and petulant (especially considering she keeps reminding us how capable she's supposed to be). Love scenes were anatomically impossible, too. In the end I got frustrated and DNF'd, which is a shame as I wanted to like it as I've liked some of the authors' other series

Great start of series, slow burn RH

I love how much Sage cares for her small community and helps out so much. Her sacrifice leads her to the unexpected. She meets three men that she becomes entagled with. She also sees that her sacrifice was not honored, so she tries to go back to make things better.

A bit slow to start

I liked the book overall but you definitely need to give it a few chapters to start and be warned it’s slow burn so if that’s not your thing you might not be a fan. Overall the FMC was awesome and I loved how selfless she was and her internal monologue was great. Hers guys while a bit a**holeish were like able but at the same time with who they are how they act makes sense for the story.

***Heartbreaking***

What a sad story, it broke my heart to read about Sage, her family and the people in her village struggles to find food and than her brother was injured so she has to make the ultimate sacrificed but it didn't end up as she expected hence the beginning of her life in the afterlife and end up bound to three hot arrogant messenger who treated her like a lost little soul. I liked the concept of this story because I believed in afterlife and I love reading this series. Kasi Hallowell is fantastic in her narratives.
