Story
Where does a moderately popular internet star who never leaves her house look for potential suitors? Online. Tinder, Bumble, Match.com, OkCupid - I tried them all. My 31-year-old self clicked and swiped her little heart out, leading to more dates than I could count, and more disappointment than I was prepared for. Maybe you can relate. Maybe you know all too well the perils of modern dating.

Story
The tide is turning against the colonists in the Revolutionary War, and 18-year-old Elizabeth Morris cannot sit by idly. Quietly disdainful of her Tory parents, who drag her along to society events and welcome a British soldier into their home during their occupation of New York City, Elizabeth decides to take matters into her own hands. She realizes that, as a young woman, no one around her believes that she can comprehend the profound implications of being a nation at war - she is, effectively, invisible. And she can use this invisibility to her advantage.

Publisher's Summary
Watch out, saints. The sinners have come home.
Eve and Maggie Abbott are desperate. Out of money, and options, they are forced to move into one very old house. It happens to have belonged to their dead grandmother, but the rent is cheap, and the location is killer. That last sentence is a joke, unless you're into a "middle of nowhere" vibe - and cows.
Welcome to Saintsville, population...too small to matter.
Poor girls. Their parents died four years prior, and Eve has been raising Maggie ever since. Correction: trying to raise her, but failing miserably. Attempting to adjust to their new surroundings, life becomes a boring routine of work and school, until one fateful day.
A moving truck, preceded by a sleek black hot rod, pulls up to the abandoned shack across the field. Out pour five brothers. Attractive, tall, tattooed, and lethal. But why are all their tattoos the same?
What are the new neighbors hiding? And why does Eve have a funny feeling that it has something to do with her?
Lock your doors. Close your blinds. The clock is ticking. And the Abbotts? They're almost out of time.

Cliffhanger with no sequel in sight
The story was good, with a whole new sci-fi twist and a cast of interesting characters. Then, WHAM…….it’s over! Cliffhanger! So I went online to research the author in order to see when the next book will be available and there is absolutely nothing to be found. No mention anywhere of book #2 in the works. Don’t buy unless the sequel is available.

supernatural romance
the beginning was intriguing. Went downhill from there. All the romance tropes for main character. Seemed like the sister, as a teen, has many casual sexual encounters, found that cringy. The last hour I couldn't wait for it to be over. Narrator was good, voices easily distinguished one from another.

Fast Paced Read!
I was unsure what to expect when starting this. I have to say, the story was so unexpected but welcome! I found the idea of zappers interesting and their fight against snappers. Definitely feels like a more scifi take on the whole gifted versus demons trope. I enjoyed the plot overall and the romance subplot wasnt bad, though I did find the whole hot and cold attitude of Luca odd and the connection between him and Eve a bit weak. Overall, I liked this book.
