Story
The works of John Wesley have been treasured for many years, and we are pleased to offer this 141-sermon set in three volumes. These sermons constitute the essential points of his beliefs. Many were published by Wesley himself while others were recovered from his manuscripts after his death. While listening to these, you will find that his writings are never dry but maintain a vigor of life about them while maintaining a scriptural balance. He strived to reach the everyday man and bring him a living gospel, and this intent is spread throughout his sermons.

Story
John Wesley was an 18th-century preacher and a cofounder of Methodism. In his stirring sermon “Of Hell”, Wesley dives into the theology of eternal punishment for unbelievers. He focuses on the two primary forms of punishment: that of loss and that of feeling. Wesley preaches with conviction, making it no wonder that his words were an important part of the revivalist movement that reignited the passion of formerly lukewarm Christians.

Story
But will God so "bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ", that no wandering thought will find a place in the mind, even while we remain in the body? So some have vehemently maintained; yea, have affirmed that none are perfected in love unless they are so far perfected in understanding, that all wandering thoughts are done away; unless not only every affection and temper be holy and just and good, but every individual thought which arises in the mind be wise and regular.

Leonard Ravenhill's call to revival is as timely now as it was when it was published over 50 years ago. The message is fearless and often radical as he expounds on the disparity between the New Testament church and the church today. Why Revival Tarries contains the heart of his message. AW Tozer called Ravenhill "a man sent from God" who "appeared at [a] critical moment in history", just as the Old Testament prophets did. Included are questions for group and individual study.

What can the call to discipleship, the adherence to the word of Jesus, mean today to the businessman, the soldier, the laborer, or the aristocrat? What did Jesus mean to say to us? What is his will for us today? Drawing on the Sermon on the Mount, Dietrich Bonhoeffer answers these timeless questions by providing a seminal reading of the dichotomy between "cheap grace" and "costly grace."

Once a person really admits their helpless, sinful condition and accepts Christ as their Savior, can that person ever lose their relationship with Christ? The difference between Ironside's treatment of the subject is that after making his case for the Eternal Security of the Believer, he deals carefully with verses in the Bible which would seem to teach otherwise.

Publisher's Summary
John Wesley was a man of God who was soaked in the oil of heaven. He helped to spark revival in America and across Europe with his unorthodox style of outdoor preaching. His sermon Salvation by Faith is an important piece of literature that is filled with truth and grace. It is straightforward and is a famous sermon of Wesley's. It is my prayer that this book influences you to receive all that God desires for you, and that you would be edified and encouraged to pursue Christ in holiness and humble devotion.

Great Sermon but the narration is a bit over done.
Would you try another book from John Wesley and/or William Crockett?
I would love more Sermons by John Wesley. I would be weary of William Crockett's narration.
How could the performance have been better?
The narrator's voice was too uneven if it was more even and less bouncy it would have been better.
