Poor narator, ruined interest for this book.

Couldn't get past the overinflection causing nails on chalkboard sound of the narrator. I couldn't get past the extremely annoying story presentation. Wanted to complete this series, would need the book Not interesting enough to persue.

Nail. Bitting!!

A great series. The best part is the connection and inclusion of the Ian Taggart group from masters and mercenaries series.
Did not like the voice of the narrator. Too flat.

Another must read for any Lexi Blake fan!

I have yet to read a Lexi Blake novel that I did not love. This was no exception. This spin off of the Masters and Mercenaries series continues to give us everything we have come to expect from a Lexi Blake story. Action. Intrigue. Hot, sometimes kinky, sex. Romance. And of course, a mostly happy ending.

There is still a brother - Drew - who is "alone." But, there are hints that they may be rectified.

The ah's, oh no's, look out, sighs, and relief that all the good guys were alright, keep me enthralled. Another must read for any Lexi Blake fan. Though this is audio and I found it just as enthralling and riveting. The Narrator did a good job.

After the tease at the end of this book, I can't wait to get into the next on. Good job.

Excellent all around and listen/narrator

This story held my interest but it wasn't as good as some of the other series. I still really loved it. I think the narrator Alexandra Shawnee adds a lot. She is very expressive.

What a surprise ending

This very hot romantic mystery had a very shocking, maybe you’d call it a cliffhanger ending. But who wouldn’t want the 3rd in a trilogy anyway, glad it’s available. Still don’t like the narrator, she has too high pitched if a voice for males & even too squeaky for some females. Where the men are thinking, she uses her female voice, so if you leave for a bit & come back you think it’s the female thinking & makes no sense.

I weep for Ian!

I don't like how the performer does Ian. He is the best part of the series and I didn't appreciate the performance in the first book at all. I tried to see this book separately, but I miss the original voice performer. Ms Shawnee is fine for this book, but not the one it needed. She improved from the first book performance which I appreciated. I did love that Ian was finally in this book! Rabid puppy talk and I was laughing so hard. How he expresses himself is so amusing, but hard to hear with this performer. I recommend listening to the masters and mercenaries series and the original voice actor for Ian to better listen to this book and hear what Ian should normally sound like with how the original voice actor would have portrayed the character. I still loved the words, but had to redo it in original Ian to get the best laugh.

OMG Unexpected Plot Twist!

This was one of the best books I've ever read! At first I thought this book would be predictable, but the ending really threw me for a loop. Can't wait to read the third book in the series to see how it all ends. I really enjoyed every minute and there was some great action.

Not impressed.

Good story bad narrator. Verry distracting to the story. Disappointing because I like this series.

No Satisfaction

First, the narrator had a pleasant voice but she was not suited for this book. particularly attempting to do male voices. Not horrible but she didn't enhance the listening experience.

Second, the plot revolved around 4 siblings who were orphaned, then separated after their parents were killed. Since the father was a computer genius and the mother had been a lawyer, it was unrealistic & unbelievable that wealthy, educated parents had NOT prepared wills with designated guardians for their small children.

The main focus of Satisfaction was the developing relationship between Carly and Brandon, one of Lawless brothers. Unfortunately, Brandon morphed into a dominating control freak the very first day they had sex. Not sadistic, life threatening BDSM (like in the author's other series) but violent and degrading enough to ruin the romantic mood.

Carly's character had potential to be interesting; for the first 4 hours or so she seemed to have an actual backbone under her calm, unruffled demeanor. However, Carly soon crumbled into a pathetic, lovesick wimp who confused Brandon's desire to posses & control her body with genuine love and affection. Hint: real men don't hit women or children.

While Lexi Blake is an incredibly gifted writer with an unexpected sense of humor, she doesn't appear to understand that steamy sex does not equate to inflicting pain and humiliation on a partner. More importantly, a man's personality and integrity does NOT change from room to room. When a man treats his lover with overt contempt in the bedroom, ultimately he will start abusing her everywhere.

Most creepy moment: when Brandon gets sexually excited telling Carly about his brother-in-law's habit of beating and whipping his (Brandon's) sister. Real alpha (in the literal sense of the word) men are protective and caring, not cruel and aggressive.
