Publisher's Summary

Maxwell Morgan has always been a very practical guy. He started working at age 15 because his foster family was stretched thin. He joined the army right out of high school to earn money for college. Even after getting his first job after college, he kept working the three jobs that let him get there—National Guard infantryman, farmer, and blacksmith.

About nine months into his new job as an HR generalist, Max’s boss arranged a one-week team-building event for the team. Max and his five attractive female coworkers boarded the plane for Sheridan, Wyoming, and then things went sideways.

Suddenly, they were going…somewhere else. What's a practical guy to do?

Very entertaining, detailed historical story!

Saxon Max is an extremely entertaining haremlit story! The narrators are terrific and the story stands out in many ways.

At first, many readers/listeners will think this is derivative of the long…VERY long…”Without Law” series, by the Eric Vall symposium. Trust me...if you liked that series, you’ll like this book; if you weren’t a fan of that series…you’ll like this book!

Beyond the “Without Law” series, there are several other books dealing with an ultra macho man and a bevy of gorgeous women who find themselves relying on him for survival and…errr, enjoyment.

What distinguished this book for me, compared with other books, is that the women are adults who are as interested in Max as he is with them. The individual personalities are very fleshed out. Our MC Max finds himself in love, and loved by, a terrifically diverse group of women. One is still traumatized by a gang rape, and is distrustful of men. Others are lesbian, and don’t really want to play with his “little monster”. Most, though, are confident, sexy women who are happy to share their lives with MC Max.

The story itself is also very interesting, in a Twilight Zone episode sort of way. Our MC’s find themselves in the third century. How? Why? The level of detail of the era is very well done.

This is a haremlit story with detailed erotica that deserves to be in the fantasy category…not just erotica. I enjoyed the detailed descriptions of the various women as they all individually became part of Max’s harem.

I wasn’t a fan of the epilogue, frankly…but I’m willing to see how that plays out with the story arc. Overall, this is easily a 5* book, and I encourage you to listen to it.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Receiving a review copy did not influence my rating or my review.

Nice

An interesting story with a nice diversity of characters. So many things happening and a very different hook at the end. I’m certainly looking forward to the next book! Excellent narration which added to the overall experience.

Fantastic Start but Lackluster Ending

The MC in this book comes across as quite an odd but totally believable individual with a unique backstory. The MC's relationship with the flight attendant actually brought me to tears. It is quite something when someone's beliefs get turned on their head and the Flight Attendant really forces our MC to consider opening up his heart to love others again.

I found the ending of this book to be rather Lackluster as it ends with a cliffhanger.... but without a cliff because nothing of real importance happens. Felt like the book was missing a chapter right before the "Godly Epilog".

Not sure I like the direction that the story seems to be going in terms of the main plot but I will stick it out for at least another book.

Time travel, no apologies to Albert Einstein

I prefer stories of common men stuck in uncommon situations but nothing about this M.C. Is common. To avoid handing out spoilers I’ll just say that this protagonist is physically, emotionally, and mentally uncommon. Unlike so many people in this day and age this character is kind to his ladies and apparently has a Degree in patience.

A new beginning for a great story

I went out on a limb and purchased this book for something new. I was pleasantly surprised at the storyline and unique telling of the story. It just flowed together and made a great story. The narrators did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. It was done so well that they became real people. It was sad that the story came to an end because I wanted more.
I eagerly await the next book of this series.

Survival in the Wild for Soldier and his Harem

First book I've listened to from JG Jerome and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Former Soldier Max has retired for the military and goes into human resources back in the U,S. On a team building trip goes wrong he and his female co-workers look to survive in the Wilderness. This was a really good take on the survival genre as the MC and co-workers are transported back in time into the 3rd centaury during the reign of the Roman Empire, where the group collectively lack the skill to survive.

The narrators did a really solid job with this audiobook, I recently listened to Raven House which was narrated by Jonathan Waters and like that title he was excellent in brining the MC to life. This was my first time listening to Maeve York and thought she did a great job and had a wonderful range for all of the female characters.

Good Series Starter

This book was a nice change of pace from my usual fare in that around the first third of the book is an in depth character introduction & relationship development. This helps make the characters very real feeling but it does leave only a little room for getting the characters to where they need to be and facing them with challenges. Hopefully the next book in the series comes soon as now that everything is set up those should be much more action packed.

Lucky man

A great story without the normal dragons or demons, just a fun bit of normalcy until the ladies start to enjoy the hero. Great story and narration.

Saxon Max Wow

This novel is great!
It just keeps giving and giving

I was worried the MC was to mushy but the author balances this out
Strong female leads and a story that just gets more and more fascinating as you go on.

Absolutely looking forward to the next instalment
