Great Collection from an OG of Modern Philosophy

Huge fan of Schopenhauer. One of the first thinkers to incorporate eastern concepts into western philosophy, I’ve always respected the sincerity of his writings and brash unapologetic pessimism. Having his writings compiled in this format has been great to see his influences on guys like Freud, Nietzsche and Jung. The narrator does a good job keeping steady and getting out of the way of the writing. I appreciate that this collection includes his most important work. Gonna be listening to this for a while.

Great Listen!

This collection by Arthur Schopenhauer is a great listen, philosophy at its best. He has a wonderful sense of humor, all the while dropping the hammer of truth as he perceived it. It amazes me how these philosophies still stand today. I would recommend this Audiobook to anyone that would like to learn a few things about themselves. The narrator Jonathan Waters is well read and easy to understand. His voice is smooth, but still firm. He did a wonderful job with this collection of books! Great Listen!

A Great Way to Enjoy Classics

I was given a copy of this audiobook for review purposes. All opinions are my own.

Like all classical literature, you really need to sit and digest what Schopenhauer writes about in this collection. He even says so himself in the introduction to this collection.

However, listening to Jonathan Waters narrate this collection makes reading and comprehending easier. When I listen to this collection again I will be making notes in hard copies of Schopenhauer’s works while listening so I can get a better grasp on what is being said.

I think everyone should listen to classics by audiobook. This is great for people who have read these works before or readers who are new to them like myself.

I couldn’t have asked for a better narrator for this collection.
