Story
As an Olympic rookie, Andie Foster has spent far more time in her cleats than between the sheets. For 21 years, her Friday nights have consisted of blocking shots rather than taking them. But now that she's landed in Rio, she's ready to see for herself if the rumors about the Olympic Village are true: The athletes are all sex-crazed maniacs....As Andie walks the line between rumor and reality, she's forced into the path of Frederick Archibald, a decorated Olympic swimmer and owner of a sexy British accent.

Nicholas Hunt is the man I hate. For good reason. His opinion of me is tainted by prejudice even before my arrival at his grandmother’s estate, and my first impression of him is just as abysmal. His arrogance and icy demeanor make it clear that he’s the type of man who’s best handled at a distance. Fortunately, space shouldn’t be an issue inside this Gilded Age mansion and its lush gardens. If I stick with the servants and he keeps to his sailboat, we should hardly cross paths at all. Unfortunately, at Rosethorn, I find that all roads eventually lead to Nicholas Hunt.

Kat and Yasmine! Do not dally! Come straight home after work. Kat, don’t take the long route from the subway station just so you can pass by Cute Hot Dog Guy. This is important! I’ve had the best day. You won’t believe it. There I was in my preschool classroom, washing a bit of poo out of some soggy trousers, when this absolute babe came to collect his nephew from my class. Truthfully, I thought I’d blacked out for a moment when I first saw him. He was a proper hunk with glorious brown hair, quite tall, and he had these arms. Are muscly arms supposed to turn me on?

Everyone in Cedar Creek, Texas, knows Jack McNight is an arrogant devil. Physically, I get it: he’s tan and fit, with coal-black hair that’s clearly been scorched by hellfire. Oh, and his personality? It burns just as hot. When I show up on the doorstep of Blue Stone Ranch, I’m run-down and rockin’ my last pair of underwear. I’m hoping for a savior, but instead, I find him. My opinion of Jack is marred by a dismal first impression, but his opinion of me is tainted even before I arrive. He’s heard I’m a spoiled princess there to take advantage of his goodwill.

Ian is...just my best friend. We're extremely close, stuck so deep inside a Jim-and-Pam-style friendzone everyone at work assumes we're a couple - that is until one day, word spreads through the teacher's lounge that he's single. Fair game. Suddenly, it's open season on Ian. He should be reveling in all the newfound attention, but to our mutual surprise, the only attention he seems to want is mine. He's turning our formerly innocent nightly chats into X-rated phone calls. Our playful banter sports a new, dangerous edge.

I’m good at hiding my feelings. Having to pretend I’m not in love with my best friend? Pfft. That’s child’s play. Here’s how I do it: I avert my eyes when he walks out of his room, shirtless in all his toned glory. I squash the butterflies that fill my stomach every time he slowly unfurls a dimpled smile. Not to brag, but Aiden Smith isn’t hard to resist if you’ve been doing it for as long as I have. In fact, we might have continued as best friends forever if not for the fact that I needed him to play the part of my fake boyfriend.

I’m desperate and destitute when Lockwood Construction rolls into my small town with an offer too good to pass up: high wages to any able-bodied man willing to join their crew. Say no more. I throw on baggy clothes, tuck my long hair under a baseball hat, and apply for a job. Unfortunately, my half-baked idea of disguising myself as a guy is flawed from the beginning. Publisher's Summary
USA Today best-selling book; number one Best Selling Sports Romance; Best Selling Romantic Comedy and New Adult Romance
What started out as a joke - seduce Coach Wilder - soon became a goal she had to score.
With Olympic tryouts on the horizon, the last thing 19-year-old Kinsley Bryant needs to add to her plate is Liam Wilder. He's a professional soccer player, America's favorite bad-boy, and has all the qualities of a skilled panty-dropper. A face that makes girls weep - check. Abs that can shred Parmesan cheese (the expensive kind) - check. Enough confidence to shift the earth's gravitational pull - double check. Not to mention Liam is strictly off limits. Forbidden. Her coaches have made that perfectly clear. (i.e. "Score with Coach Wilder anywhere other than the field and you'll be cut from the team faster than you can count his tattoos.")
But that just makes him all the more enticing... Besides, Kinsley's already counted the visible ones, and she is not one to leave a project unfinished. Kinsley tries to play the game her way as they navigate through forbidden territory, but Liam is determined to teach her a whole new definition for the term "team bonding".

Soccer Is Really That Important To You?
I just couldn't finish this book. I've read at least three other books by this author that I enjoyed but this story had too many strikes against it. The narrator'w voice was annoying and very difficult to listen to seriously. Then the characters were just too unbelievable saying that soccer is the most important thing and jeopardizing it at every chance. The behavior was just to juvenile and cavalier for someone who had a lot on the line. Maybe I'm just too old to appreciate the wrecklessness of young love but these two got on my nerves.
Don't waste a credit.

Great Book, terrible audio book
Would you try another book from R.S. Grey and/or Jessica Almasy?
yes, the author's writing was great. Loved the book and characters.
The narration was terrible, I honestly couldn't get past the first 10 minutes. The narrator has a high pitch voice, not great for this type of book
How could the performance have been better?
different narrator
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Scoring Wilder?
none, thought the book was well written

Would've been a goal if not for the narration.
This was a easy, lighthearted, funny book. I would've given it a higher rating if not for the narration, which I found a bit annoying. Not so annoying that I stopped listening, but enough that it detracts from the story.

Really good listen!
I really enjoyed this soccer themed tricky romance. A little fun, flirting, evil jealous mean girl and of course, hot soccer players! This a good listen, typical athlete issues of dating, trials and tribulations but what I enjoyed the most is that the main character didn't turn into a complete dummy or push-over when things got dicey. She kept a good head in the game!

Let down by narration and plot issues
I am a big fan of RS Grey and have loved most of her work ive listened to so far. So when I found this gem I was soo excited. But I had alot of issues with this one. And to be honest it was hard to finish.
For starters... the narration was not suited to this story. it was off putting it ruined the story for me. The main character is young in this book, and the narration made the main character even more juvenile, and immature. This is generally ok.... but when it came to the sexual content - it was definitely not ok. The author crafted some great swoon moments, but instead of swooning the narration made me cringe and feel really uncomfortable because the main character sounded childish. Also, where the author intended moments to be laugh out loud funny - the execution made them cringeworthy and flat (cue crickets).
Secondly- the plot was unbelievable in a bad way. The story centred around pro athletes. But in no way was this believable or written in a way that explored the dedication, lifestyle or character development of a professional athlete/ Olympian. I just couldn't take the main character seriously and it I couldn't buy into the whole situation. Overall, not the best

Hilarious
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Yes. It wasn't the best story but I laughed so hard throughout and made it a fun listen.
What did you like best about this story?
How funny it was.
Have you listened to any of Jessica Almasy’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No. But I will in the future.
Could you see Scoring Wilder being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Yes, as a romantic comedy. The stars should be Liam Hemsworth (of course) and Hayden Panettiere.
Any additional comments?
The sexy scenes were a bit weird for me. Both of the main characters has more of a laid back, cool personality and great sense of humor. For some reason, the dominant side of Liam didn't seem to fit him. Or maybe it was just the voice over... Just didn't do it for me. And I thought there would be more drama or more to the story but it kind of fell flat in the end. It was an easy listen nonetheless and I enjoyed it.

Scoring Wilder...
Wow...I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It not only had a great romance but it was also extremely comical as well! I would be listening to the book while walking around my house cleaning and just burst out laughing all of a sudden & my little daughters would just stare at me and then say..."You okay mommy? What are you laughing at?"
So, overall I really enjoyed this book and really loved the author for making it so well rounded! I totally fell for the Hero of the book, he was so sweet & honest & supportive of Kensley, the heroine. And as for her, she was a very good heroine as well! She wasn't one of those wimpy, whinny characters; she was the total opposite of that which I absolutely loved about her!! Strong, independent, talented, beautiful & extremely funny!! Excellent book!
The narrator was excellent as well! I loved her voice and she made the funny parts even better with the way she said them. I also love when a narrator uses a different voice or tone for when their speaking as either a female character or a male character. It makes it easier to understand and flows nicely.

WOW! GREAT BK!! HOT & an easy listen!!
Bcz I don't like being negative, I only do reviews on bks that I LOVED. I normally like MC/vampire bks...I'm super picky but this was a great book! It starts off with her catching her boyfriend cheating. Then 2wks later, she's out celebrating her 19th bday (the nit b4 her 1st college soccer practice) & she meets Liam at a party when she's talking to his pro soccer friends ...she gives him the brush off...although she does flirt w/him a lil... until he tells her that he's one of her coaches this season... (Throughout the bk her ex, Josh, is trying to get back w/ her...) I luv that u can tell how much Liam, likes & cares for Kinsley. He is really protective. Funny book. I listened to it twice even tho 50% of the bks I buy... I can't even listen to once! Definitely worth a credit! ~Blessings!! :)
