Publisher's Summary
A widowed artist. An old crush. One summer to get her life back.
Ivy Marin’s life implodes after discovering that her late husband had spent their life savings on a beach house. Strapped for cash as an art teacher and with nowhere to go, Ivy and her recently jilted sister head to Summer Beach to recreate their lives. If only renovating a historical home didn’t unveil a host of hidden secrets in the beachside community - and the mayor wasn’t her former high school crush.
Bennett Dylan led a campaign against Ivy’s late husband to block the rezoning of the beach house land for a high-rise resort. Although it’s been 10 years since his wife’s death, Bennett is avoiding the pain of loving - and possibly losing - another woman. And then, the FBI shows up.... Ivy’s demands for a zoning variance for a bed-and-breakfast couldn’t come at a worse time for him.
Despite distractions, Ivy has one summer to sway the town to salvage her livelihood and the new life in Summer Beach she’s come to love.
With spellbinding intrigue and poignant self-discovery, Seabreeze Inn is a sweet summer beach read. If you like sun-soaked beach sagas you can lose yourself in, Seabreeze Inn and Summer Beach’s fascinating characters are for you. Start your vacation in Summer Beach now. Wonderful Story & Narration🎧 A Heartfelt Delight!
I loved everything about this book, from Jan Moran’s wonderful writing style to interesting storylines and characters she created to Erin Bennett’s fabulous narration. The beautiful story flows naturally and the descriptive details are amazing, the author makes you feel like you are right along side the characters seeing what they see and feeling what they feel. The characters are likable and easy to relate to. I adored the lead characters, Ivy and her sister Shelly, as well as Bennett Dylan. The secondary characters are pretty awesome too and contribute a lot to the story. Ivy’s life takes an unexpected turn, she had a life in Boston, a husband, two daughter college age daughters. Then her husband, Jeremy, passes away she learns he had secrets, he not only left her in debt but he had purchased a large property in Summer Beach in her home state of California. She listed the property for sale hoping to pay off the rest of the debt with a bit to spare. Ivy and her sister were heading to California to see their Mom and since the property is not seeing they are visiting the property to see what they can do. Bennett Dylan is the realtor handling the property, she had a crush on him in H.S but he does not remember her so their meeting is less than cordial. Then the unexpected happens, something about the house, calls to Ivy and she decides she is going to keep it. But in order to keep it she has to come up with a plan and that plan includes making it a business, an Inn. She is faced with many obstacles but she is determined to make it work and overcoming them. Including getting the community to accept her, they are skeptical because of her husband and his plans for the property. I loved the history of the property, Las Brisas Del Mar, its previous owner, Amelia. Erickson and what they discovered in the house, I thought it was all fascinating. I admired both Ivy and Shelly, their relationship amongst themselves, their family and the possibility of building new relationships including love interests and most admirable is their courage to start a new life. I loved how everything plays out in this book, it is superbly plotted and there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, a bit of angst, humor, many heartfelt moments and a bit of a slow burn romance. Jan Moran, thank you for this amazing story, I need to visit the “Seabreeze Inn” again and am looking forward to what comes next for these wonderful characters!
Erin Bennett is a talented narrator and voice artist. She does an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life, giving each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart she put into her work as she captures the characters emotions and projects them into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen🎧

Slow burn, First in a Trilogy
This was the first book I've read/listened to by Jan Moran. I LOVED it. I didn't realize that this was a trilogy and would end as a partial HFN for Bennett and Ivy. I definitely want to continue the series. Whether Shelly and Mitch get a chance, maybe we'll find out later?
I love how descriptive the author wrote. I'm completely invested in the characters and wonder if the other siblings have stories. I plan to look that up. The first kiss happened in the last minutes of the book, which was perfection. I laughed, my heart fell, then I'd grinned wide. A few times I was frustrated with a character, but that maked it real-like! It's hard to see when you're smack in the middle of life.
Erin Bennett is an excellent narrator! She made this book roll through like a movie. Her voice is easy to listen to for a long period of time and performes male and female voices perfectly.

Ivy and Shelly head to the beach 🏝
This is a great beach read. When your husband dies and leaves you debt and a giant property you team up with your recently jilted sister and breath life back into that mysterious old house. Team that renovation with the town mayor slash/guy from high school working against you and your progress and things get pretty interesting. This book really hits all the right notes with a bit of history and a dash of mystery you are excited for the next page.
The narration from Erin is great!

Predictable and Nothing Exciting
Sorry, but this was the most predictable book I have ever listened too. Nothing really exciting ever happens. It is a cliche of hundreds of other books I have read or listened to.
The story never takes off. Such a blah ending. Such a blah middle. I had alot of hope in the beginning. I might have yelled at the narrator a few times lol. Although it wasnt her fault she was reading a terrible story.

When Ivy's husband, Jeremy, passed away, he left her with mountains of debt. She was surprised that he paid cash for an old Victorian house, in Summer Beach, California. . Ivy and her sister, Shelley, traveled from Boston to California to see about selling the property. She decided to stay and make it into an inn. She runs into many obstacles to make it. The author is very descriptive in the details of the history of the town, the house
and characters. I enjoyed this story immensely.

Really good story
I enjoyed listening to this book. It had a really great family aspect and great history. It was a good read about finding yourself again after a loss and realizing people aren't always who we think they are.
Lots of secrets coming to life, both personally and with the house she now owns for Ivy. But, she's determined to get through with her head held high and with kindness. She has some work to do if she wants to repair the image her late husband left behind for her to clean up in Summer Beach.
Really good women's fiction with a touch of romance to it.
I enjoyed this narrator, she did a great job bringing the characters and story to life.

Loved this story!
Ivy's husband died unexpectedly and she is left to deal with the aftermath. Part of the aftermath is the fact that her husband bought a historic building on the west coast with all their retirement and savings and without her knowledge. Ivy and her sister Shelly travel west to tie up the lose ends to sell the building when suddenly they decide to keep it. Renovations begin so they can begin to rent rooms and have an income. Along the way there are hints of the past that help solve the mystery of what the ladies discover in the basement. Family, community and a high school love interest come together to get the Inn operating and to answer questions about the past.
Erin Bennett delivered perfect narration for this story. You won't want this story to end.

A New Home
Seabreeze Inn
: Jan Moran
Two sisters at a changing point in their lives travel to a Victorian house. The house has a story, the people in town have stories as do the sisters. A bit of
adventure, a bit of mystery, and some romance to top it off. This was quite enjoyable. There are supposed to be additional books in this series. I will be looking for
the next one.
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed by, Erin Bennett.

Pretentious and Predictable
About a month ago I listened to Elin Hildebrand's "Golden Girl" - also narrated by Ellen Bennett. I had never read or listened to any of Elin Hildebrand's books so I felt like I was listening to the same book with the same character voice cadences. If you like to listen to vapid, escapist, beachy island tales of wealth and privilege, this book is for you. It is predictable like a bad soap opera. However, If you are into style and substance, you will not find it here. The names of the characters are also so obviously pretentious and over the top, you have to ask yourself why none of the characters aren't that interesting or worth caring about.

Summer listen
This was a good summer read that helped take some time away of being stuck in the house during quarantine. A new story by a new author and now I will be listening/reading the other books by this author and narration by Erin Bennett was helpful to keep listening. This story was good in you are always looking for change and Ivy and Shelly proved that. To learn that you own a beach house and you had no idea all your money was used for this and the story behind the beach house and it’s past. I liked this read and author and can’t wait for more.

Second chance romance
This book was definitely interesting. Great book about starting over in life. Dealing with tragedy and moving on without being a tear jerker. Great characters. I would have liked to have had a little more time with the main characters together. The narration was great. I recommend this book

Nice but lacking something.
Little niggly annoyances like the narrator emphasising wrong words in sentences. Felt like I was being read to as a child. Men's voices were nasally. Just stuff like that.
I guess the small romance part of the story was ok, but nothing not found in 100 other romance novels. I don't need detailed advice on decorating or gardening, I'm good thanks, was looking for a good romance.
Didn't hold up to the genre greats.
