Critic Reviews

“I love stories where the protagonist connects with an old love! Especially if the story is set at the beach. Wonderful characters and a sweet story. Doesn’t get much better.” (Kellie Coates Gilbert, best-selling author, The Pacific Bay Series)

“A wonderful story that is great at any time of the year. Will make you feel like the sea breeze is streaming through your hair.” (Laura Bradbury, best-selling author, My Grape Year)

Invested

Such a good story! I’m so invested in the characters. I don’t want the stories to end. I always want to know what’s next.

My Escape

I’m a nurse so all of the Seabreeze series take me away from all the stress I deal with every day. It’s my place to go to for rest and family visit. And peace.

Not thrilled with Ivy in this one

I was disappointed that Ivy was so overbearing and self-centered in much of this book. I didn't get that sense in previous books in the series.

Losing interest in the series

The series started out really strong for me but I find I’m losing interest with each subsequent book. I really enjoyed the first four. I’m hoping the last one doesn’t disappoint.

I’ve been enjoying this series and I but I have to say, the more books I listen to them the less I like Ivy. This may sound harsh but I’m so sick of her whining and how she treats Bennet. Honestly, I don’t know why he puts up with her or even married her for that matter.

I hope the final book has her mellowing out a bit. I get that everyone grieves in their own way but this being a book, I really don’t enjoy the fact that she’s finally found someone so incredible and remarried and she still holds on to her “issues”. At first, her daughter Sonny was the one who annoyed the heck out of me. I couldn’t understand how everyone tiptoed around her when what she needed was to be put in her place. She was so obnoxious. But at least it didn’t take forever for her to turn around.

If the next book is the final of the series, the author dragged out Ivy’s negativity too long. She’s obviously a good, kind and giving person which is what saves her…somewhat. But with each book I just lose more and more patience with her.

Now that I think about it, maybe I should blame the narrator, lol. While I thought she did an excellent job, perhaps she makes Ivy sound more annoying than intended…we could never be friends, lol. Now Shelley is someone I could have fun with!

A series that may have come to an end

I have read all the series but this one was hard. I just wanted to get to the end to find out if Shelly had her baby. Ivy complained a lot about her marriage. The book needed to concentrate more on the ghost and treasures of the house.
