A great new series.

I am a fan of Susan Stoker and I have enjoyed all of her series but like with most authors I feared that this new series would be just like all of the rest. Wrong! I was amazing. I loved the story, characters, and especially the town. I was a great journey. And while I likes Grace Grant and Tim Paige, Ryan West was Amazing! Please bring him back!

Thrilled by this new beginning of the series!

Boy was I anxious for this new series and I not disappointed at all! This is an fantastic beginning! This is story is filled with not only amazing (cough HOT) guys but we also get introduced to a whole town full of characters. While I enjoy Ethan and his team Lilly stole the show! I was really impressed her more than once! She is real, smart, has a host of special skills and her wonderful Dad. I loved how she handled everything thrown at her with grace. Who else could win the hearts of a small town?

Overall this story had me hanging on tight! I was drawn by the characters, held by the suspense and floored by ending!

I did listen to this on audio. Grace Grant, Ryan West and Tim Paige all did a wonderful job. I look forward to more in this series!

Why this narrator? Female narrator was terrible!!

I have never given Ms Stoker anything lower then a 5 rating. Was looking forward to this new series. The female narrator was absolutely terrible!! Will make sure I don't buy another audio narratored Grace Grant.

Ok, but the narration wasn't good

Liked it. Not enough for a repeat read or listen. The lady killed it for me. Huge Susan fan but the poor narration may have me pass on this whole series.

So boring

This was a very boring story. BUT the narration for Susan Stoker’s books has improved tremendously now that there are both male and female narrators.

Had me at the edge of my seat

This one was a little more of a mystery. I actually hushed my husband at one point because the part of the story was getting down to who the bad guy really was. She could have strung that out maybe another chapter or two for some real angst, but I do understand that isn't her genre. ;)

I really like the female protagonist in this story. Lilly has some guts and she knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it. I enjoyed the performances, especially the female reader. Sometimes the the "male characters" sound cringy from female readers, but Grace did a fantastic job. I also appreciated that the two male readers sound different enough that it was easy to know what character was speaking.

Narrator?

I loved the story and characters but the narrator is terrible, Terrible and Terrible.

Another Stoker book - same same same

Please Susan - throw away your fill-in the blanks style of writing and write full characters that are actually life-like. I always am hopeful when I start a new one that you will break the cookie cutter and actually write. For the narration, Tim Paige and Ryan West were good but Grace Grant was almost like listening to a robotic school teacher and her male voices were almost enough to make me stop

Trashy

There are some things that should not be written about, especially illicit sex!
The bad language was also unnecessary.

Great read

I've not read Susan Stoker before and the start of a new series seemed a good way to begin. I listened to it on audio as well as having the kindle edition. The narration was clear and I felt the narrators did a good job of bringing another dimension to the characters.
Enjoyed the set up and the location. Really liked that Lilly could hold her own and was a strong female character. The suspense came a little later in the story than I expected but it was ok as I enjoyed the romance and chemistry between the two main characters in the lead up to the action and the world building the town it was set in.
While I wait for the second book in the series to come out, as I definitely want to discover Elsie's story who was foreshadowed in this book, I'll have a look at some of the author's other books.
Ticking all the boxes for me ... romance, strong women, alpha males, suspense and emotion.

a new idea...lovely one at that

Really different for Susan. The military alphas are still present and seeing as there is 7 of them I'd say we've got a nice series going. It's a slow burn mystery/suspense and romance and not as steamy as she has written but it was a lovely story and about the 2 characters finding themselves and where they belong.
Some nice tidbit eye openers regarding reality TV shows and a beautiful setting.
Some fun side characters with laughs. I didn't guess the villain, got it wrong doh!
Enjoyed the narrators as always. Keep em coming susan
