A reluctant prince

After more than 300 years on Earth, Prince Ralan has finally returned to Moranaia. But with his wicked brother Kien on the loose, the homecoming is a short one. A dire vision sends Ralan back to Earth to save his soulbonded from his dark brother. The problem? Ralan's Sight grows more erratic by the moment even as danger closes in on every side.

A woman far from home

Ever since a failed alliance ruined her family, Cora has lived on Earth. Far from discontent, her days are spent running her clothing shop and helping newly arrived fae adapt to mundane life. Then a golden-eyed prince strides into her store, trouble stalking his heels. Big trouble.

A fate foretold

Ralan's Sight might be broken, but one thing remains clear - stopping Kien will mean Ralan's death. So how could the Gods choose now to introduce his soulbonded? As Ralan and Cora search for Kien, their relationship grows stronger. Unfortunately, so does the threat. Now Ralan must choose between his own life and the fate of all their worlds.

Narration needs work

Both narrators have the problem of making the characters sound like teenagers and old people. It is often hard to respect the characters with those voices. Gabrielle de cuir is the worse although Stefan really should not making women sound mindless and breathless. I really hate the voices she does. That being said not all are bad such as that Lyr and the little girl. Those are the only two voices appropriately voiced.

The story touches on things that have an emphasis placed on them but is not addressed in this story.

Same threads...but still good

The narration issues are better, but still room for improvement. There are times where the narrator’s tone doesn’t match the author’s. This happened more so with the female narrator versus the male; but it did happen on both ends. Sometimes, the general feel of a moment was lost because the narrators didn’t put the proper inflection on the tone.

This story was pretty good. There are a lot of moving parts and it gets a bit confusing. Seems like there are waaaaaaay too many characters in this series. Its like every book no less than 7 new characters are added. Each story seems to center around one character and their interactions with everyone else…but specifically one other character. The same basic event seems to happen in every story which is kinda like…ok, lets switch it up a bit! Or at least get away from that specific trope…doesn’t have to appear in EVERY book and then work out almost exactly the same way.

I mentioned before on one of the other books that I appreciate that the story doesn’t get unnecessarily drama-filled. Sometimes, authors will have their characters get to one point, and then thwart them at the last possible second. And do it again and again and again. It works, but its nice to have a story that doesn’t rely on that method to move the story along. I will admit to waiting for the boot to drop because I couldn’t believe nothing was gonna happen. Example (and its NOT a spoiler because it happens like 5 times every 5 chapters) they are walking towards the healer…..and they make it to the healer without incident lol. Usually, a character is going to get rest/be healed and BOOM 17 things happen at once and they never get rest!

Overall, I am enjoying the series. Its not perfect, but what is? Those imperfections create conversation!

It took me a little while to get envolved in this series.i suspect I will listen to the whole series now!

Fyi, I had finished another series by another author, so it took me a little time to get over that one ending! I wasn't ready for it to end! lol!

4th in the series

As the series progresses, I find more questions than answers. I'm sure that will change as the story comes to it's resolution. As it continues, the narration remains excellent...thank you for wonderful voices lent to a delightful adventure!

Immature characters and whining narrators!!

I've never taking the time to rate a book, but this just bothers me way too much. I really hate to give this low ratings, because I actually really liked the first couple of books, but I've noticed over time the characters just start sounding so incredibly immature and whiny that I almost can't listen! I'm not sure if it's just because of how the characters are written, or if it's because they are narrated so terribly. Almost every single character has started to sound like someone in their early teens, no wisdom at all (e en though they are supposedly 100's of years old), bratty, throw tantrums, and just flat-out whiny ass little kids!! Most of the main characters are supposed to be hundreds of years old, who have seen different worlds, seen and done more than we can imagine, and experienced amazing things! But no.....whiny and annoying children is what we get. There was one sex scene in particular that had the main character, Cora, sounding so much like a young girl, that it was literally uncomfortable to listen to and I had to skip forward because it sounded like a little girl about to have sex! I mean seriously, did NO adults listen to this before it was actually published??!!

A lovely gentle read

I am really enjoying this series. Excellently narrated, I love the male narrator's voice and it complements his opposite. The pace of the story is gentle, calming and the outcomes are satisfactory. Your heart won't stutter with this series but you will enjoy.

Enjoyed the book

Really enjoyed the book. Performance was great, intriguing plot, although a bit less intriguing then in first two books. And I felt the ending was not as picturesque as it could be. Nevertheless was a great listen.
