Story
Creel Creek, Virginia, is the last place either of her ex-husbands would ever think to look for Constance. What better place to hide from her humiliations than a town too small to warrant a mention on a map? Laid off, and recently divorced from husband number two, this former workaholic moves in with her estranged - and very strange - grandmother. A grandmother who informs Constance that she comes from a long line of powerful witches. And on the day she hits the big 4-0, she'll come into her powers.

Story
When it rains, it pours...and sometimes love finds you even when you can’t find yourself. Fate has given me a second chance at the happiness I once knew in the odd Southern town of Grimm Cove. But only if I can come to terms with some rather eye-opening revelations. Supernaturals are a real thing. I'm a witch. My high school sweetheart, who happens to be the Chief of Police in Grimm Cove, is my fated mate and a wolf-shifter. Ghosts exist and can be very nosy and meddlesome. Someone is murdering witches left and right.

I never expected a midlife crisis. Sure, I'm over 40 and married, but my kids are grown and moved out. Then my husband asks for a divorce and my whole world crashes. But I am not about to give up. I am ready to tackle my do-over; my chance to become the me I've always dreamed of. Starting with moving into my late grandma's cottage and adopting a new kitten. However, my new life is a little odder than expected. Old books suddenly appearing in my house. Neighbors going missing. A supposed lake monster and a strange man who likes to skulk around with an axe.

Story
One day, I’m married, living in Seattle, and magic isn’t real. The next, I’m divorced and living in the guest room of my ex’s hotter-than-sin cousin’s place in Savannah and talking to an animated skeleton named Robert. I have to admit, Robert isn’t my worst date. At 41, I didn’t think I’d be starting over. But I’ll be damned if my ex thinks I’m down and out because he pulled a fast one on me. When a job comes my way that offers me a chance to use my childhood training in the shadow world, I take it.

The day after my 43rd birthday, my husband announced he was trading me in - his words, not mine. The news was unwelcome at the time, but honestly? I needed a good goosing to get up and find my way to the door. So I was freed from the giant manual of expectations authored by my ex. That was the good news. The flip side was less happy. Due to living in a state not friendly to discarded wives, I was also relieved of the financial "security" I'd spent a lifetime accruing.

Robin Brannon was a normal wife, mom, and antique shop owner until a brush with death turned her day-to-day life upside down. Now, she and her two best friends are seeing things that belong in a fantasy novel. Ghosts. Visions. Omens of doom. Nothing that belongs in the peaceful mountain town they call home. Added to that, Robin's marriage is on the rocks, her grandmother's health is failing, her mother is driving away the customers at her shop, her teenage daughter refuses to get her driver's license, and her left knee aches every darn morning.

Publisher's Summary
Secrets broke her heart...and have now come back from the grave to haunt her.
A new series from NYT and USAT best-selling author, Michelle M. Pillow!
Lorna Addams’ life is not turning out like she expected. After a very public embarrassment, she finds it difficult to trust her judgment when it comes to new friendships and dating. She might be willing to give love a second chance when she meets the attractive William Warrick, if only she could come to terms with what her husband did to her and leave it in the past.
How is a humiliated empty nest widow supposed to move on with her life? It’s not like she can develop a sixth sense, séance her ex back, force him to tell her why and give her closure. Or can she?

Well written and wonderful Characters
This is a wonderful story! I am not a huge fan of witches but the way this one comes about is good! It didn’t bother me. I was so invested in the actual characters that when the witch stuff came around? It fit right into the story seamlessly. This one revolves around Lorna. She gets gob smacked with news at her husbands funeral. She moves and meets some new girls. Heather and Vivian befriend her and we learn a bit about them as well. Enter William...Heathers brother. The relationship between William and Lorna is sweet and adorable. These two together are great.
I am assuming the other stories In this series will showcase the other two women’s stories. I did listen to this on audio. Rebecca Cook is the narrator. She does a good job.

Fantastic Characters
After her husband dies and his secrets start to come out, Lorna decides to start her life over in a different town. She finds two friends, Heather And Vivian and a new romance, Will. I can't imagine losing everything after the horrible loss and humiliation she suffers. The 3 friends were destined to find each other, they make a great trio. They are like the kind of friends you always wanna hang out with. When Lorna finds her place in this new world it makes you proud that she was strong enough to pick herself up and move on. This book is worth every penny you spend on it.
I liked hearing about the developing friendships and budding romance. Lorna is a relatable character, well written.
I highly recommend this book. Dive in and enjoy the ride with Lorna, Heather and Vivian.

Totally Enjoyed this 40+ Book
I did love this book, especially the uniqueness of the story.
Lorna, Heather and Vivian were all very likable.
Story was fun, some horror, friendship, magic and a romance.
The romance was not over graphic, which I totally appreciated.
Heather’s brother William was equally likable.
Looking forward to Vivian’s book, Order of Magic next.
Hope it comes soon
No problem with the narrator.

Never Do a Seance While Drunk
Second Chance Magic starts off with Lorna Addams discovering the lies and secrets that her husband has left her during his memorial services. Her life has been a lie and to discovered that her husband has secret life with another wife, the first wife. The life that Lorna Addams has disintegrated into nothing. Anything that she and her husband have, belongs to the first wife.
Three years later after going through several court litigation and humiliation of how could she not have known she was the "other woman". Lorna relocated to Free Wild Cove, North Carolina for a new start in life. The only thing she hoped for was that no one in Free Wild Cove would bring up her humiliation of her being married to a lie for 20 years.
Heather Warrick, her boss and her best friend Vivian befriended her. Vivian, being vocal, suggested to seance Lorna's husband to get answers.
This story reminds me of Charmed, the TV series with the exception that Lorna, Heather, and Vivian are not related to each other as sisters. All three have to learn magic with the help of Heather's ghost, Grandma Julia. All three have to learn to deal with their personal pain to move forward.
For Lorna, she has to also learn to make friends and learn to trust Heather's brother, William and that all men are not like her husband.
This book is a good start for the series. I also like the title. The title suited Lorna's life as getting a second chance to a real relationship with William.
The narrator, Rebecca Cook did a very good job. It did take me awhile to get used to her voice. After I got used to the narrator's voice, I started to enjoy listening to the story.
I was given this book by the author. I have decided to voluntary write an unbiased review for the book. I was not compensated or influence in any way in writing this review.

Excellent paranormal fiction
I am normally not the type of person who is into paranormal fiction, but in this series Michelle weaves the normal daily experiences with the supernatural so delicatdly and perfectly that you cannot help being drawn to her work. She touches upon the idea that sometimes we all need the magical potential , the sixth sense intuitions within us to sort out our problems when logical thinking falls inadequate since we are minds and souls as well as physical entities. It was a captivating listen, thanks for the writer and the narrator.

Great new series!!!!
This audiobook mainly revolves around Lorna but it is so much more! Yes, she had a rough start in the very beginning BUT that made her stronger & who she is during her "midlife."
SPOILERS AHEAD:
Fast forward 3 years from the beginning & she lands in Freewild Cove. It changes her life forever, in a very good way. She becomes besties with Heather & Vivian. Vivian is a hoot by the way. She even has some steamy bits with William, Heather's brother. The ladies each find the same type of object that binds them in a way plus Heather & William have a family secret that comes out. Heather embraces it but William completely denies it until...............
This audiobook so much to offer. Intrigue, humor, magic, etc. A definite must!

Amazing Suspenseful Story!
This is the first book in the Order of Magic Series, a Paranormal Romance Women's Fiction Novel. Wow! I loved it! Lorna's story is captivating! Mom of three, betrayed by her late husband, she is a wonderful character, strong, and smart. William is handsome, supportive, and caring. They share an instant attraction, and an undeniable chemistry. Vivien and Heather (William's sister) are amazing friends, and wonderful supporting characters. Lorna and her two new friends are gifted with psychic abilities. The storyline is original, intricate, and enthralling, filled with mystery, suspense, and some scary scenes. Impossible to put it down! Rebecca Cook did a wonderful job with the narration. Looking forward to listen to Third Time's a Charm, Vivien's story, the second book in the Series. If you like Paranormal Romance, and Women's Fiction, this series is definitely for you! I enjoyed it, and I HIGHLY recommend it.

Sweet, Heartwarming.....with a little magic!
I loved this story, I was not expecting this beginning which made me surprised (since I read a lot of paranormal, this is something!). I loved the pace of the book and the characters. There were deep issues faced by each of the featured female characters that made it so much more real. New love, new friends, new beginnings. Just reminds us all, that even life has its chapters and it's never too late to create a new adventure for yourself. When you realise life doesn't bind you, there is so much world out there to experience and fall in love with! Definitely looking forward to the next one in the series! Paranormal Women's Fiction are stories featuring older women. Some of the themes in this book and the series are difficult ones. These stories help shed some light on those with a little twist of hope and magic. If you enjoy paranormal and fantasy stories, these are a perfect addition to your reading list!

A Betrayal, A Second Chance and Some Magic
I received this in return for an honest review. I have been really enjoying the Fab13 PWF books and this was no exception. It had me hooked right from the very beginning - I didn’t expect the betrayal at the start and it really made me feel and connect with Lorna. I enjoyed the developing relationships between, Lorna, Heather and Vivien. Such a really lovely story where heartbreak and grief brings these three ladies together and Lorna finds herself with a second chance. Brilliant start to a new series and great narration as always by Rebecca Cook. Well worth a listen.

A new life in a new place
There is fun, a little paranormal scary action, a new blossoming relationship, new friendships, and the premise of the plot, the discovery of new psychic abilities.
Lorna finds out the day of her husband's funeral that she is his second wife and that he never divorced his first one. Starts out almost tragic/funny with a interesting funeral. As an escape from a horribly embarrassing situation leads Lorna to move. She chooses a small town she passed through once. Very quaint by the beach. She gets a job and makes friends with two other women. They are all magical.
I liked the main character, Lorna, and her friends Heather and Vivien. The story was not what I expected, but it was very good. I love the dynamic between Lorna, Heather and Vivien and how they come to rely on each other.
This book grabbed me right at the outset, and Ms. Pillow barely hit the brakes throughout the story. This book is exciting. It's paced so you don't feel as though you've missed anything important. The characters are fully written, you feel as though you know them. You feel them. That commitment to the story from the author always pays big dividends for the reader.

Good listen
Interesting story of a widow who was wronged by her late husband. The discovery of healing magic and ghosts make for an interesting tale. The romance felt a little rushed but was a nice addition. The narrator did a great job. I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Fantastic
This is such a fantastic story with a main character that is able to put herself back together stronger than ever. I loved both the journey that she went through and the friendships that she built. The world building was second to none and I found myself cheering her on for the whole book
