If so, it sounds like you are ready to start putting yourself first and focusing on what makes you happy and content. I am a true believer that self care starts from the inside out, and this is why I always choose to focus on the mind before the physical.

In this audiobook, we start by cleansing your mind, helping you imagine a better version of yourself, and break down the barriers of your past beliefs. Great for a gift

I bought this book for my girlfriend because she is under a lot of stress right now because she is extremely busy at work. I thought this book would be perfect for her and I was right. She told me this audiobook has helped her reset in life and take some time for herself. I know when she needs most of the time but when she hears it from a reliable source she takes it more seriously. She is much more relaxed these days so I am glad I got this book!

The Kickstart I Needed

Why is it that we know so many ways to look after ourselves and yet we don't do them? This audiobook was a pleasant reminder to slow down, bring myself back to the present, and set out some ways I can improve my life. There were lots of tips and advice and I feel more relaxed and organized after listening.

Women can definitely use this book

We women are torn in so many directions in today's hurried world because of the many roles we play. We will drive ourselves ragged if we do not take the time to care for ourselves as we care for others! This audio book does an excellent job of guiding you through the process of self-care. The chapter on self-care concepts was very enjoyable. I need to implement these into my daily life because they are so doable!

Common sense isn’t so common

This woman wrote an entire book reiterating things everyone already knows. Obvious statements such as work out to help yourself feel better, quit smoking, do things you enjoy. Really? Ya think? I wouldn’t recommend this to a kindergartner, let alone an adult who already knows all of this to begin with. Skip this one. Next!

Everyone can use some “Self Care”

This audiobook has something for everyone.

I really believe that FORGIVENESS can affect your total self, did you know you can even get cancer from unforgiveness?

There was a time I held something against someone and just refused to forgive her, the sad thing was it wasn’t that big a deal after all. I didn’t see how it was eating me up inside and how bitter I was, but as soon as I let go of it and forgave her ..WOW.. there was such a load taken off me, I became joyful & could see how ridiculous I was to hold on to it and saw I was only harming myself!

ORGANIZATION is important too and you never realize when you are running around trying to find something that it is because you have become unorganized but when you are organized you can definitely tell the different.

LAUGHTER is good medicine

Doing things for others always makes me feel good.

There are so many things suggested in this book we can all find somethings that we haven’t done, or not done lately… use it to encourage you to do better!

Same as everything else

I find it amazing that people keep writing absolutely the same set of well being “ rules”’ and still think that they do something new and original.
This book is full of that dull, obvious and for ages not working stuff. Yeah take a yoga class or have a jog or drink wine and enjoy a beautiful view… seriously?

May be it s because those who like the author of this book never been at the bottom of despair, problematic health etc.

Because if they have been and managed to climb out - it ll be a much more alive and interesting book, written from one s personal experience.
Not a set of “ have Pilates class and dance to you favourite music, count your calories and enjoy the sunset” thing. Nobody counts calories anymore , by the way.

Exactly what I needed to hear

I have been listening to this audiobook in the background while I go through my day. Finding all the small changes to take care of my mind, body, and soul has been making my life so much better. I have tried similar books and programs before, but this book finally made it make sense how to put myself first and change the direction of my life.
If you have been struggling to find time for self care, you need to read this.

This is Great for Men Too!

I was curious to see how self-care for women differs from self-care for men. I can use everything in this book and achieve the results I want, which is basically to love myself better and others more.

Good information

This audiobook covers most self-care concepts, but I found the mantras helpful. This book gave me a lot of great ideas that went beyond the diet and exercise. I just wish this book was a bit longer. Highly recommended.

Easy to Follow!

The book is an informative guide that reminds me rather than give new facts as they are well known but it was made clearly and concisely which is easy to follow and the point on fixing my mind on only things that I can change is a helpful reminder.

I listened at work, and felt better cared for!

The highlight of this book is the listing of 99 self-care ideas. Just by ticking off these items one-by-one over several weeks, you would never miss the cost of this book. As I listened to the listings, I was stunned by how many of these simple experiences I had been putting off, had never thought of, or just hadn't done in far too long. I could count on one hand the steps that I had taken for myself in the past few months. So I've got about 94 to focus on next!

Amanda clearly has the confidence to teach others what they need to know in order to make peace with their greatest foe: Themselves. In the early chapters. she talks extensively about irrational self-loathing we experience over something as simple as dropping and breaking a drinking glass. I felt that, having grappled with it in my own life. Even now, when I see someone do something clumsy or embarrassing in public, I feel a wave of sympathy for them. Not because anybody is judging them, but because that person is very likely feeling that everyone is judging them.

The narration was great, confident, and soothing... although I confess I felt a twinge of disappointment when the American-accent revealed that the writer was actually from Ireland. I've always been partial to the Irish accent and would love to hear Amanda put out a whole book embracing it! ;) Regardless of that nitpick, it's a great addition to your Audible library.
