Elaine is still far from home, far from Remus. Her friends and family don't even know if she's alive. However, not all is lost. Elaine has fallen in with some elves, who are willing to let her tag along while they head in the general direction of her home. Carl was a regular construction foreman. Not the worst, not the best, and definitely not the thinnest. Even so, he didn't deserve that heart attack! He really didn't deserve being reborn into a dog-eat-dog world as a dragon. To be fair, it’s nice to be at the top of the food chain. Now Carl just needs to learn how magic works, which monsters are safe to eat, and why his hoard is so important to him. Dealing with change is hard enough, but he has enemy dragons incoming, hostile environments, and foes constantly trying to get bragging rights by taking down a dragon.

A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator. A man powerful enough to defy the heavens. A master of martial arts. A lord of spiritual power. Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck in his body. Arrogant Masters? Heavenly Tribulations? All that violence and bloodshed? Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here. Farm life sounds pretty great. Tilling a field by hand is fun when you’ve got the strength of ten men—though maybe I shouldn’t have fed those Spirit Herbs to my pet rooster.

Publisher's Summary
Hunt the mesmer. Free the captives. Be the hero you never wanted to be.
It's been 10 days since Jade finally got out. Out of the bed she spent her life trapped in, out of the hospital, and now out of the city, the walls, and way outside of her comfort zone.
The wilderness is a terrifying place, especially when you're hunting mesmer...and everything else is hunting you. Unfortunately, getting out of the forest won't get her out of the woods. She’ll need to navigate court politics and foreign policy if she wants to come out in one piece. Paving a way through state affairs will prove at least as difficult as trying to find her way through Basaigh Woods.
Andara’s newest traveler has a lot on her plate; it’s a good thing she’s hungry for adventure!

Enjoyable Start / Annoying Middle and Ending
The balance of the book felt off, with the first portion of the novel being the fantastic conclusion that the previous book deserved with the rescuing of the taken royals. That's the problem; it has an epic first few hours wrapping up the MC's prior journey, only to return to the eye-rolling Mary Sue conflicts for the remainder of the novel. Sadly the story ends like the last book, with a huge cliff hanger! The series is starting to embrace wrapping up previous conflicts at the beginning, then fill itself up with fillers and potential threats that remain unresolved by the end. It left me feeling annoyed, wishing I had stopped listening as soon as the MC returned from rescuing the royal children.

Jade to the rescue
Several members of the royal family have been taken by the Mesmer. From the frequency of the Mesmer attacks, Jade knows that they do not have long. She has prepared as much as she can and now she is going to save them. The Mesmer can not stand between Jade and her friends.
This is a very fun book. Jade is an incredibly powerful character and it is hard to challenge her. This can pose an issue in some stories, but sees to keep the story light. Jade has matured a lot since the first book.
I am looking forward to the next book!

Ok book. but that cliff
Just like the first 2 books book 3 was pretty good. It is honestly worth 5 stars ..... but the cliff at the end is very unpleasant. It feels like the author just stopped in the middle of the story cuz she got tired or something. I do understand that cliffhangers sell more books but.... at least finish the book and then leave a bit of a cliff, don’t just stop in the middle of the the columniation of the book

Man what a ride.
This is one of the most fun and thrilling books this year. It does have a lot of character building, but the action scenes are well done and packed with great action. The narrator Samara Naeymi truly does a wonderful job capturing all of the emotions going on throughout the book. This is one of my favorites in the series so far. Well done, well done indeed.

Had to make myself go back and finish it.
I'll start by saying that I love the first two books I've read them and listen to them multiple times. Found them thoroughly enjoyable. I had such high hopes for this book, and couldn't wait til it was released on Audible.
Unfortunately I do not think this book is even comparable to the first two. It never pulled me in like the first two did.
The narration was good but the story was not Jay's normal page turner, staying up late to finish, body of work.
Sorry Jay.

Excellent slice of life progression series but...
not only do cliff hangers end many promising series for me they also decrease the enjoyment of rereads. Which is what keeps a series and author in mind between releases. I really enjoyed the middle two thirds of the book so despite the ending I will probably get the fourth book sometime after the memory of the bad taste in my mouth fades.

Author Extremely Ignorant
I liked the story up until Jay Boyce's racist and discriminatory description of a black slave traveler. Slaves no matter their race are extremely resillant and adaptable. So to paint them as helpless and not being able to adapt is a load of BS. Then to make matters worse she includes that the king and queen tried to erase his existence from history. Hmm. Sounds like U.S. history repeating itself. Yet this white girl who was an invalid is the OP savior of the universe.

Great third entry
Been looking forward to this book for a long while and I was not disappointed. Worth the money any day of the week.
I did enjoy that any romantic relationship has been nicely avoided. Though as a bit of wish fulfillment would be nice to see that jade turns out to be gay but no romantic relationship is probably preferable as it can really change the direction of the story.
Looking forward to the next one in the series
