Story
The horrific and disturbing nature of these stories often makes you question everything you thought or believed about humanity. Yet they are engaging and fascinating at the same time. We all had evil thoughts throughout our lives. What is it that makes us different from those who actually act upon it? Is it the act alone? These are questions that many ask themselves, and these stories will help dig into the elements and psychology behind some of the most terrifying killers in history.

Story
Real-life is stranger and more frightening than fiction, and this book serves to cement that principal even further. In this compilation, there are 11 cases of some of the most deplorable, unjust and violent crimes I’ve come across. From cannibals to rapists to the sickest, most twisted criminals you’ve not yet heard of, you’ll hear about them all in this book. I’ll tell you the story of Rurik Jutting, a British banker living in Hong Kong who held two women hostage, tortured them and raped them over a number of days.

Story
There is little more terrifying than those who hunt, stalk, and snatch their prey under the cloak of darkness. These hunters search not for animals, but for the touch, taste, and empowerment of human flesh. They are cannibals, vampires, and monsters, and they walk among us. These serial killers are not mythical beasts with horns and shaggy hair. They are people living among society, going about their day-to-day activities until nightfall. They are the Dennis Rader's, the fathers, husbands, church-going members of the community.

Story
Eight true crime stories of murder and mayhem. In my first audiobook as a true crime author I've started with a few of the stories that have haunted me for some time. Some of these stories are unbelievable in their brutality while others are astounding in the stupidity of the killers. This collection of stories are from all around the globe and have no common thread between them other than that they are both thought provoking and disturbing. The stories included in this anthology are dark and creepy and will leave you with a new understanding of just how fragile the human mind can be.

Story
Few serial killers in history have garnered as much attention as Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer. Although Dahmer killed 17 young men and boys, it was not so much the number of people he killed that makes him stand out among famous serial killers, but more so the acts of depravity that he committed on the corpses of his victims. In this true crime story, you will listen to how Dahmer transitioned from a loner to serial killer, committing numerous unnatural acts along the way such as necrophilia and cannibalism.

Publisher's Summary
In the very depths of the human soul there is a darkness. It is an entity which most of us may never get to know; for others, however, this darkness grows for years until it takes hold of them and permeates every inch of their body. This darkness is evil incarnate, and it is in the hearts and minds of some of the most dangerous and despicable human beings to have walked this same earth we live in today.
Sometimes it can manifest as the desire to dominate the weak and the less fortunate; in others, it becomes an uncontrollable need for violence and death; another group turns this evil into pure hatred for those that they do not agree with, transforming dislike into the desire to spill blood.
Regardless of which group we are talking about, there are many of these individuals who soon evolve into the most deadly kind of monster: the serial killer.
In the following volumes, you shall discover the stories of six murderers so tainted by darkness that their horrific accounts still bring fear to men and women of our present day:
- Edmund Kemper, the Co-Ed Killer, whose victims were mostly young, defenseless students.
- The Briley Brothers, three siblings who were as mentally unstable as they were bloodthirsty.
- Christopher Wilder, serial killer who mercilessly killed in two different continents.
- John Christie, who lived a double life while killing cruelly and indiscriminately.
- John Haigh or The Acid Bath Murderer, whose methods of disposing of victims made him infamous.
- Joseph Paul Franklin, whose racist hatred fueled him into a deadly “cleansing of the world”, according to his own claims.
So listen to the sections of the volumes in this Serial Killers True Crime Box Set now, and begin exploring these tales that have been forged with the essence of hell itself - you may soon realize just how deep evil can plant its seeds within a human being....

Used accents when reading quotes????
I liked the book but narrator read a quote from the mother of a murdered 15 year old. The mother just so happened to be korean, I was NOT thrilled to hear him read it with an “asian accent”. Completely unnecessary and as an asian person I hated hearing it. You don’t have to read a quote with a stereotypical “asian accent”. You already told us they were korean, it’s racist and stereotypical. I cannot comprehend how the people who work at audible let this slide through. Where was the thought process.

Crazy stories and intense narration.
Wow, these stories are just crazy to hear. However, they are true and remind of the weirdness of the world. This book presents a fresh overview of each of the incidents, along with relevant background information: for context. I think the narrator especially did a great job. The details are so vivid and intense, it shows the amount of effort put into this book. In any case, it is a good true crime book.

Fantastic
A fascinating look into a few of the world’s most famous serial killers. I especially loved the little debates at the end of each book in which the author contemplated whether each of the serial killers was indeed a “serial killer” or if they fit any other type of category. It was interesting also to hear that despite all the atrocities that the men committed that they were still all considered legally sane even while some of them went of their way to try and seem insane.
Fascinating information and the narration was spot on.

A set of gruesome stories that keep you listening.
First, I have to start off by stating that I got this book free of charge in exchange for a review, but as I always state, this does not in any way impact my review. My reviews are always honest and my own.
This is yet another great read that’s really hard to put down. It's an insightful and graphically detailed account of some of the most horrific crimes.
Even if you are a seasoned campaigner of true crime, this book has something for EVERYONE, and something new.
I would highly recommend this read to all fans of the true-crime genre.

Detailed and True
Oh boy did this not disappoint. I am fairly aware of a few of these crime stories, the one I knew the most was about Edmund Kemper, the Co-Ed Killer. Even knowing more about this particular case, there was so much included in this book that I learnt a lot more than I knew. The amount of research and detail gone into these is just incredible and I applaud everyone that worked on this. The narrators did an amazing job too.
There is so much information within this that it is a soon-to-be recommended book for my fellow crime friends. I hadn't expected as much depth and detail in these stories, so it was a very pleasant surprise.

The 1st narrator is very difficult to listen to
Good content and overall a good listen once you get past the 1st two chapters which are read by a narrator who tails off the end of each sentence like it's a question so that he sounds automated, and seems to mistake commas for full stops. Worth keeping with it until the next two narrators come on

Very Intriguing.
I was completely immersed in the narration of this book. Perhaps it's the stories or the way they were told, but I found myself wanting to know more! The details included in each story, and the way the narrator makes each case seem fresh is just fascinating. While these stories are about really vile individuals that have reached well into the dark side, the stories are set in a way that gives a short insight into the life of the killers. This way, the listener gets a somewhat understanding of the twisted mindset of the serial killer. Quite a scary venture, but not if you are fascinated by the crazy and weird.
Quite an excellent listen.
