Story
This is the infamous follow-up to Serial Uncut, featuring 21 different serial killers. For everyone who thinks the bad guys are so much more fun to read than the good guys, we’ve written a novel just for you. In the annuls of modern thriller fiction, the villains always steal the show. We love to read and watch great villains. In many cases, they’re the best, most entertaining parts of our books, so it only made sense to write a book featuring every major villain we’ve ever written.

At first, Logan Ramsay isn’t sure if anything’s different. He just feels a little...sharper. Better able to concentrate. Better at multitasking. Reading a bit faster, memorizing better, needing less sleep. But before long, he can’t deny it: Something’s happening to his brain. To his body. He’s starting to see the world, and those around him—even those he loves most—in whole new ways. The truth is, Logan’s genome has been hacked. And there’s a reason he’s been targeted for this upgrade.

Story
It was supposed to be a harmless camping trip. Six wayward teenagers who'd run into trouble with the law, and their court-appointed guardians, Sara and Martin Randhurst. Three nights on a small, deserted island off of Michigan's upper peninsula. A time to bond, to learn, to heal. Then Martin told a campfire story about the island's history. Of the old civil war prison hidden in there, and the starving confederate soldiers who resorted to cannibalism to stay alive. Everyone thought it was funny. They even laughed when Martin pretended to be dragged off into the woods.

Publisher's Summary
Remember the twin golden rules of hitchhiking?
#1: Don't go hitchhiking, because the driver who picks you up could be certifiably crazy.
#2: Don't pick up hitchhikers, because the traveler you pick up could be certifiably crazy.
So what if, on some dark, isolated road, Crazy #1 offered a ride to Crazy #2?
When Blake Crouch (DESERT PLACES, ABANDON) and Jack Kilborn (AFRAID, CHERRY BOMB), face-off, the result is SERIAL, a terrifying tale of hitchhiking gone terribly wrong. Like a deeply twisted version of an "After School Special," SERIAL is the single most persuasive public service announcement on the hazards of free car rides.
Beyond a thrilling piece of horrifying suspense, SERIAL is also a groundbreaking experiment in literary collaboration. Kilborn wrote the first part. Crouch wrote the second. And they wrote the third together over email in 100-word exchanges, not aware of each other's opening section. All bets were off, and may the best psychopath win.
F. Paul Wilson says, "SERIAL reads just like a Crouch or Kilborn novel: Full speed ahead, no flinching, no blinking, no brakes."
Along with the reinsertion of additional material cut from the original version, SERIAL UNCUT also has a vastly expanded beginning and ending, including an extended section that originally appeared in the novella TRUCK STOP by J.A. Konrath.
If you can handle horrific thrills, proceed at your own risk.
But if you suffer from anxiety attacks, nervous disorders, insomnia, nightmares or night terrors, heart palpitations, stomach problems, or are of an overly sensitive nature, you should read something else instead.
The authors are in no way responsible for any lost sleep, missed work, failed relationships, or difficulty in coping with life after you have read SERIAL UNCUT. They will not pay for any therapy you may require as a result of reading SERIAL UNCUT. They will not cradle you in their arms, rock you back and forth, and speak in soothing tones while you unsuccessfully try to forget SERIAL UNCUT.
You have been warned...

Sadistic, Graphic, Twisted Fun - They Nailed It!
If you enjoy gory, sadistic, bloody murder stories that are actually clever and written above the high school level, you've hit the jackpot. This is the best splatterporn I've found on Audible, add it to your list immediately if you always wish your serial killer books were more graphic. 100% kudos to the authors, they are gore-gentlemen and gore-scholars.

Gave us the creeps!
My husband kept saying "I can't believe we are listening to this!' We cringed, shuddered and kept wondering how people can think this stuff up to write, YUCK!!! But, we were cracking up at the end.
I haven't read Crouch or Kilborn, love and know how sick and funny Konrath. If you don't mind listening about creeps, eating faces or pealing eyelids off of victims then help your self to this book.

I don't get it.
Murder porn. Although multiple writers contributed, and despite the narrator who does a fairly good job of creating different voices, all the characters were essentially the same. Different stories bring the various characters together, but the threads lack intrigue or dread. Very repetitive and ultimately boring. Ending was weak, too.

EMOTIONS MONTAGE
YOU BROUGHT YOUR TOOLBOX, RIGHT?
This is Throw up Scary. Another reviewer hits it on the head with Splatterporn. Each chapter is like s separate story and they kind of come together in the end. The first two chapters provide unique twists. The first six chapters were excellent. Then the story ran out of places to go and basically repeated itself. The gore becames less of the story and more gore for gore's sake.
REGGIE BAR
I thought the beginning of this was clever and witty and a little funny. Toward the end the gratuitous violence and gore just got old. It became like two guys trying to gross each other out with more and more sick stuff. I like sick stuff if part of the story, but sick for sick's sake is boring. I did how ever like the last chapter and the epilogue. Skip to the last chapter if you get bored. Fans of Matt Shaw and Jack Ketchum will enjoy this.
Patrick Lawlor
This guy does the majority of the narration. He has been around for a while and he is very good. He does J.A. Konrath's stuff perfect. Scary, gory with a hint of humor.

Love Donaldson and Lucy
Would you consider the audio edition of Serial Uncut to be better than the print version?
Yes. Reading it doesn't do it justification as hearing it...especially if the right person is reading it.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Donaldson - a complete whack job. Would love a book focusing on his character. I like Lucy too. She's a good 'supporting' actor.
What does Patrick Lawlor and Angela Dawe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
They make the characters believable. Patrick makes his character seem like they're real people.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes and I did while at work.
Any additional comments?
This book was funny but to be a serial killer I guess you have to be crazy. Love the interaction between Donaldson and Taylor and Donaldson and Lucy. To me those were the best parts.

SICK SICK SICK
The problem with wondering what sick minds came up with some of the horrific tortures in this book is that there are twisted psychotic people out there who would do, or actually do, such things.
The saving grace of this book was how the characters in the different sections all finally connected. And I actually laughed at the ending.

Crouch, Kilborn and Konrath - a unity of sickness.
This is my third installment from the pen of Killborn and just like 'Trapped' and 'Endurance', this one did not disappoint. I must admit with this particular book, the vivid and graphic nature of the story did start to disturb me at certain times. But what can you expect from a book where the nature of the story recounts clear monologues in the context of serial killing. I am about to start Kilborn's fourth book, 'Afraid', but perhaps I should take a couple of days of first, just to recover....brilliant author(s)...brilliant story.....thank you audible.
