Publisher's Summary

First came the plague, then came the war.

When the guns went silent and the last bombs were dropped, billions were lost and the world had become unrecognizable.

Nine years later, Reid Flynn and his eight-year-old daughter, Hannah, live a protected life behind the walls and rules of their small hamlet, Deliverance. Life is hard there but safe...or so Reid thought, until Hannah showed the first symptoms of the plague.

Once someone was symptomatic with the plague, they'd die in a week's time. With the clock ticking and only the rumor of a cure a thousand miles away, Reid must leave with Hannah in hopes that he'll find the cure before the end of the seventh day.

Perfect in every way possible!

This Genre is my favorite, and have read and listened to it all. This book is one of the best in the Genre. it's up there with one second after, and after it happened. If your familiar with G. Michael Hoph it's even better than his The End serious. Trust a stranger on this one. it's short but sweet! To understand your parents’ love you must raise children yourself. – Chinese Proverbs

Suspenseful story with relatable characters ... the story explores the wide range of human behaviors and adaptability.

New Author for me... Well done!

Fantastic story read by a great narrator! This is the first book I've listened to by either the author or narrator. I'm an avid reader and listener of Sci-fi and post apocalyptic stories. Often when I try a new Author I'm disappointed but not this time. I find myself at the end of this story wanting more, to continue the journey with the characters the author has created. As a stand alone book it's complete and you won't feel cheated if there isn't another one but I'll certainly keep my eyes peeled for other books by this author and narrator.

Well done

Good read. Predictable

The Narrator switches voices very well for all of the characters in this book, with very little faltering between. The book is pretty predictable, and plays along the standard "end of the world" guidelines (if there are such things). Over all, I would give this a 3 of 5 stars.

Mediocre at best

If you're looking for an enthralling, imaginative page tuner, this is not for you. A swing and a miss for sure, sophomoric storytelling and lazy editing combine in this very run of the mill book. Narration all over the place so as to confuse the reader and make for a choppy and unpleasant reading experience.
