>"How unusual is it, really, in the history of all known human experience, to enjoy the blessing of living free?" The answer may surprise you. In The Miracle of Freedom, Chris and Ted Stewart make a strong case that fewer than five percent of all people who have ever lived on the Earth have lived under conditions that we could consider "free". So where did freedom come from, and how are we fortunate enough to experience it in our day?

Truth is being destroyed, free speech criminalized, the dollar fast becoming worthless. Ideologues at the helm of Big Tech, Big Media, and Big Business are set on the destruction of capitalism and democracy. Powerful federal agencies are no longer protectors of the people, but their primary adversary. Many of our forefathers had to fight a Great War to save their freedom. It falls upon this generation to fight two. But we must not lose hope. There is a way to save our nation.

History is about so much more than memorizing facts. It is, as more than half of the word suggests, about the story. And, told in the right way, it is the greatest one ever written: Good and evil, triumph and tragedy, despicable acts of barbarism and courageous acts of heroism. The things you've never learned about our past will shock you. For example, the reason why gun control is so important to government elites can be found in a story about Athens. Not the city in ancient Greece, but the one in 1946 Tennessee.

In an ancient land in a time foretold by prophets, a babe was born beneath a shining star. Thirty years later, Jesus of Nazareth began teaching a message of hope, peace, and love. He claimed to be the Son of God, and his words - and his life - would change the world. Though David ben Joseph is quick to accept Jesus as the Messiah, the rest of his family is more cautious.

In this searing classic autobiography, originally published in 1965, Malcolm X, the Muslim leader, firebrand, and Black empowerment activist, tells the extraordinary story of his life and the growth of the Human Rights movement. His fascinating perspective on the lies and limitations of the American dream and the inherent racism in a society that denies its non-White citizens the opportunity to dream, gives extraordinary insight into the most urgent issues of our own time.

Story
The construct of race has always been used to gain and keep power, to create dynamics that separate and silence. This remarkable reimagining of Dr. Ibram X. Kendi's National Book Award-winning Stamped from the Beginning reveals the history of racist ideas in America, and inspires hope for an antiracist future. It takes you on a race journey from then to now, shows you why we feel how we feel, and why the poison of racism lingers. It also proves that while racist ideas have always been easy to fabricate and distribute, they can also be discredited.

Publisher's Summary
“When the odds were stacked against us - and there have been many times when the great experiment we call America could have and should have failed - did God intervene to save us?”
That question, posed by authors Chris and Ted Stewart, is the foundation for this remarkable book. And the examples they cite provide compelling evidence that the hand of Providence has indeed preserved the United States of America on multiple occasions. Skillfully weaving story vignettes with historical explanations, they examine seven instances that illustrate God’s protecting care:
Never, at any of these critical junctures, was a positive outcome certain or even likely. Yet America prevailed. Why?
“No man is perfect,” write the authors. “And neither is any nation. Yet, despite our weakness, we are still, as Abraham Lincoln said, the best nation ever given to man. Despite our faults, this nation is still the last, best hope of earth.” In short, God still cares what happens here. This reassuring message is a bright light in a world that longs for such hope.

American History...Brand New...Again!
A few years ago I remember discussing education with a man in his sixties. He told me about how difficult his Bible classes were in high school.
"It sounds like you went to a tough Christian private school!" He looked at me quizzically and said, "Christian school? No, I never went to any religious schools. I was in public school."
I was totally shocked! "Public school!? They taught Bible in the public schools!?"
"Um...yes, up until the sixties every public school taught the Bible from the beginning of this country up until the sixties." He replied as if I was a total moron who didn't know this. "Even grammar books started teaching kids how to read with, 'A' is for Adam." He added.
Well, I didn't know this at all.
I went to public school and was taught some American History. It was mostly positive. Then I got to college and was treated to "real" American History by the great historian, Howard Zinn.
Or so I thought.
Coming from a Communist country my family taught me to be extremely wary of Socialist Leaning professors. "The Revolution started in the colleges. One day we were free, and the next we were at gunpoint," my terror stricken Abuela would tell me.
I did my research on Zinn and was surprised (not really) to find that he didn't claim unbiased objectivity. To him there were no such things as facts. Historical facts were only facts if they shaped the minds of others into believing what he believed, that is, Socialism. (In fact, in the preface to one the editions of his book he even states at much.)
Imagine a star witness in a trial say, "My testimony is not fact. It's "facts" that I hope will change the verdict towards the outcome I want.
Zinn's influence is very widespread with many "prestigious" universities claiming that he's required reading. My university, which was a Leftist's Paradise, was no exception.
History classes have been hijacked by Zinn's teaching and those who agree with his bias. Which is frightening because as the Bible states, "If the foundations be destroyed what can the righteous do?"
You're seeing the effects of this bias in the media, who learned at the knees of Zinn, and who promulgate his bias because, "A lie repeated over and over becomes the truth."
So it's refreshing to once again learn about the truth in "Seven Miracles That Saved America". You remember truth, right? 5 + 5 = 10? The laws of gravity?
This book speaks the truth. In the history of mankind there has never been a country like ours. Our country wasn't a result of a shot in the dark. It wasn't a result of intellectuals finally figuring out how best to govern. It was a result of God's miraculous hand.
Coming from a family of immigrants I hope that this book will instill pride in your country for those of you whose family has been here for generations. I feel that this segment of American citizens takes for granted the great gift God has given them. Not all of them, but some of them. My wife's family just about came off the Mayflower, and they've always been surprised at the unbridled patriotism that my family has always possessed. But my family saw the bloodshed firsthand of Socialist policies. They lived under a bloody, brutal dictatorship who had no regard for any thoughts or opinions they deemed unworthy. When you live under conditions like that you learn to appreciate what it is to be an American.
You scoff at labels such as, "Cuban-American" or "African-American" and embrace the label of "American". My family never needed hyphens to define them. I pray that this book fills you with pride and appreciation for this country, and for the God who put you here.

Thought Provoking Gratitude Promoting
Thought provoking connections of true historic events. If history is the story of our lives, it's often beneficial to look at how individual stories link together and impact our lives. In a day of political divisiveness, apathy, unrest and cynicism, it was nice to read a book that reminds all Americans that one event does contribute to a larger often unseen picture.

more fiction than I would like
I was very anticipatory about this book. I listened while driving. Many times my kids were listening. I was grateful when they heard the good things...however the fictional narrative was often graphic and gory and I have no pleasure in this and don't want my children to get a mixed message. As an adult I still don't want to hear details of torture and failure. I was disappointed about the focus on the negative horrible things. In addition to that some "historical facts" were not in line with all that I have studied. I would have liked to see more details put into the Miracles part of this book rather than a hook with sordid details.
