Publisher's Summary

What does a fallen angel, a vampire, and a sexy bodyguard have in common?

They’re the carriers of the seven deadly sins - and it’s my job to conquer them.

I don’t take shit from anybody, and that’s what has gotten me through life so far. My mother’s dead. My brother struck a deal with the Incubus King that gets me in all sorts of trouble, and my dreams are plagued by a black fog of death that’s determined to hunt me down.

Seems like destiny has finally caught up with me, and she’s a bitch.

If I want to survive what’s coming next, I’m going to have to face this darkness I’ve been running from all my life. Hell isn’t a terror locked in my dreams. It’s real, and I’m going to need to find my mates to conquer it, starting with the sin of lust - my favorite.

Turns out being the long-lost Queen of Hell has its perks.

Seven Sins is a complete three-book fast-burn paranormal reverse harem collection ready to be devoured. Content includes violence, mature sexual scenes, F/F, F/F/M, F/M...you get the idea. (Sonya’s a succubus, what can I say?)

Hrm.

Okay, the premise of this series is actually really good. Creative and interesting conceptually. However, the execution of the actual story fell way short.

The first book is massively... uncoordinated. I suspect a crappy editor. The author simply neglects to explain things that are vital for understanding the universe. I get there's an element of the MC is kinda lost so the audience gets to be lost, too. But this is way more than that. I almost put the entire thing down and walked away until I read several reviews complaining about this issue that said it gets better in the second book. I think the issue is more it takes the entire first book to catch up enough for anything to make real sense. After completing the entire series, there are still fundamental gaps that were never addressed.

The author never really does connect the characters in a deep way. She states their love and such, but doesn't show us any of the work of how they got there. She tells us the external story without enough real inner monolog to help the audience understand the characters.

I think the fundamental issue that this needed to be significantly longer. More time taken to add depth to the premise. It's like watching the movie version of a book. There's just enough to give you a basic story but all the nuance has been left out.

Skip this one.

Could not finish. The Narrator did a great job but the story is honestly just bad. No flow or story progression, the characters are just thrown at you and not explained at all so you don't know why your even hearing about them. Also the love interest with Sarah just needs to end quickly, it makes no sense and holds the whole books progression up. Not a fan.

Insane Adventures

This collection only got better as I listened. At first I wasn’t sure how much I was going to like it and at times I got really upset for the characters and what they went through. The character development was amazing from where the MCs were in the beginning versus the end. The depth and range of emotions that eventually came out surprised me by the end.

The first book made me so upset with how Sarah treated Sonya and made her feel so bad for being what she is. Book 2 really picked up and book 3 came out of nowhere with how awesome it is. The journey that the MCs go on, separate and together, tie together so well

The narrator has the perfect husky voice for narrating a book where the main character is a succubus.

confused and bored 😴

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY
The story confused the heck out of me. There was real plot to follow, no steam and just lost me within 2 hours of listening. I love reverse harem stories but this one really flopped.

Excellent start to a new paranormal RH series

This was an excellent new series starter. Lots of action, intrigue and drama. Plenty of steam with the set up for even more intense sexual themes. After all the main character is a succubus. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Didn't like it.

Too convoluted with plot holes all over the books plus I feel the overall story would have made more sense if the main heroine had seven mates for seven sins instead of four.

Not too bad but....

I only got about 6 and a half hours into the book. It never really grabbed me but its possibly because I'm still decently new to audible. I usually love fantasy romance and reverse harem but this too me fell flat. there wasn't enough relationship development between the FMC and her soulmates for me and I wished that there was interaction between the soulmates themselves. I never really connected to any of the characters and the amount of disconnect between the female main character and her 4 was very conspicuous. Overall it was extremely frustrating.

Not too bad...

The narrator wasn't bad, however, she could have put a little bit more emotion into the storytelling. I felt like it was almost monotone at times. The actual story itself though was captivating. Very different from any others that I have read recently. Overall a great book!

A good distraction

Some fun ideas, sometimes seemed a bit convoluted (maybe I was too tired). Sex scenes, especially the f/f, seemed written from a very straight, vanilla, male perspective. Otherwise a fun romp.

Great books

J R Thorn is a fantastic author. These books were not my "norm" and I was given them in exchange for a review. I did find it a bit difficult to keep up with all the different characters though. There’s a lot going on in this series so make sure you keep up. I did have to keep rewinding as I wasn't concentrating enough! I usually listen to the audiobooks whilst doing things, housework, gardening, gaming etc..... i did struggle to do that with this book as I really had to concentrate and I got lost quite often. So therefore it took a lot lot longer to listen to. However, after all of this, it was another brilliant piece of writing from J R Thorn. Great plot, great characters and the narration was spot on.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I have provided this voluntary review.

Seven Sins

Wow! This series is intense. I really enjoyed the multiple POV. It was great having all three books in one place, for a continuous listen. I really liked how the FMC had to find her four main "mates" and her additional three to complete her seven sins. This series is HOT and STEAMY! Highly recommend this series if you enjoy PNR RH.

Steamy hot and action packed

I absolutely loved this book, it was incredibly steamy and action packed it kept me riveted all the way through. The four sins, her mates were intense and were fantastic characters, that I couldn't help feeling attached to them, and Derek was a lovable rogue that I couldn't help but like, however I didn't like Sarah I felt she was just too self involved and wasn't very empathetic to anyone. I hope there will be more books following about the guardians. theres a lot of potential for a series. Lia Holland's narration was wonderful and expressive and really helped bring the characters to life. I received this book in exchange for my hpnest review.

all over the place. DNF

the narrator was very nice to listen to. nice voice, good pace.

the idea of the book was spectacular, however for me that's where it ended.

characters were annoying. the story ended up being all over the place with no real timeline that made sense.

by mid book 2 you finally get a sense about the sins but still don't understand anything about what they represent. and that is where I had to end it. which is a shame because I never. never. never. do not finish a book. but I just couldn't.

Overall I was beyond excited to read this book but it just didn't do anything for me. too busy, confusing and annoying. like an ADHD kid non medicated, so much was thrown out only to change direction with more added, then another turn of events.

in saying that im not put off by the author. I actually really like J.R. thorn.
