Supernatural Bounty Hunter isn't the sort of thing you see on LinkedIn. But with a rare type of magic like mine, I don't have many options. Dangerous or not, the job is mine. Disappointed😞
I think the story had potential but there were a few annoyances that will probably prevent me from continuing the series. The narrator did a great job with everyone’s voices except the main character. For some reason she sounded too old to be just 28. The main character also seemed really weak and made bad decisions when it came to defending/ taking care of herself. And then, which is a huge thing for me. How is there only one weak a** sex scene at the end of the book?!?! And that scene is so “unsexy” that you can actually skip it... So disappointing! At least it was a part of the romance package so I didn’t spend a credit for this. Just wasted my time unfortunately.

I've had this book on my Wishlist for ages and decided to take a leap of faith while on a "book hangover" from the end of a favourite series. WOW am I glad I did! Perfect Paranormal Series. LISTEN NOW
What made the experience of listening to Seven Years the most enjoyable?
This review is for the whole series
CHARACTERS- lovable and respectable
STORY- great pacing, romance, action, adventure, kidnappings, mysteries....
SEX- not too much, not too little and well performed
PERFORMANCE- dynamite (and I'm picky).
What about Nicole Poole’s performance did you like?
Nicole Poole is a great narrator. I hated her voice for the first 10minutes and at times the recording quality wasn't dynamite, but then a bit further into the book she BLEW ME AWAY. Her male voices are especially great. They are each unique and distinguishable but also not over the top and annoying. Her acting is terrific as well. When I listen I am completely immersed.
Any additional comments?
Dannika Dark makes the paranormal aspects of this story really great. There are a lot of books that explore the dynamics within wolf packs, but she makes the family dynamics in this pack very "real". The alpha males aren't so alpha-y that you want to smack them and say "get over yourself". They respect their women but also are macho in that sexy way you gotta love.
The author also added new types of paranormal characters that I've never heard of before and they really work. I'd highly recommend listening to the series about Mages, the first is titled Sterling. It will give more background info that intertwines nicely with these books. Also, the relationship the paranormal world has with the human world seems more believable in these books than others out there.

I enjoyed the book, not the narrator
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
The story is fun and I've gone on to read the next books in the series, but I'm reading them. The narrator's voice doesn't really fit the characters for the book and I found myself wanting to continue with the story, it was just frustrating to listen to. The books are inexpensive on my Kindle and I've almost finished the whole series. The writing seems to get better with book (or maybe I just didn't like how it was being read?).

The Reader's Voice is Rough
Constantly sarcastic sounding voice and screechy when recounting emotional passages. I just had a hard time listening. Her rendition of the little sister's voice was unintelligible (too high pitched with no enunciation). So, it was hard to know what she was saying at times.

Am I the only one?
I thought this one would have been better if it were shorter. I just got board with how slow it moved and never really related or like the main characters. I tried to speed up the narration and even that did not help, everyone else seems to love it, I wish I had, but it just was not for me.

THAT DAMN LEAN!!!!
I was soo excited when I realized this book was coming to audible. I read Seven Years when it first was published and instantly feel in love with the story. Dannika writes a captivating story full of suspense, sexual tension, action and romance. Lexi Knight is a 27 year old adult that has been working the same job, in a candy story, for the last seven years. She also has been living in the same town since she can remember. Seven years ago, her world was changed forever when her older brother, Wes, was killed in a car accident and her father decided to leave her mother, her newborn sister and Lexi without a look back. In the midst of this crisis, Wes' best friend Austin, who has been like a big brother to Lexi, suddenly leaves after Wes's funeral without so much as a good bye to his adopted family. Seven years later, Lexi is struggling with her love life, trying to help her mom with Maisie and trying to figure out what she wants in her life when Austin walks back into the picture, with that damn lean, and turns Lexi world right side up. Buried secrets from the past finally come to light and Lexi begins to understand who she is, exactly where her life is meant to go and who she is ultimately meant to be with.
Nicole does an excellent job of telling the story with as much passion and intrigue as Dannika put into the story. To saw the next book, Six Months, is already an automatically download for me is an understatement. I hope it comes to audible soon.
IMO, buy buy buy. I know you will enjoy this book.

I LOVED EVERY SINGLE CHAPTER, PARAGRAPH & WORD
To say my library's got a good share of Shifter books in it would be an understatement...... but I think this is absolutely THE BEST of all of them. It introduces you to a host of loveable characters who all get entwined in a really enjoyable and entertaining plot that's got everything I was looking for.
In this first taste of the fresh were-world it's very much character driven and you can't help but feel part of their world as you get to know each of them and what part they all play in this new community. Dual POV's and the Narrator did a FANTASTIC job in bringing all of events and characters to life.
Worth a credit? Oh boy is it ever, I loved it and I'm desperate for the next instalment which will be an auto buy for me.

Shifter world
What does Nicole Poole bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Good range of voices to denote the characters
Any additional comments?
Lexi is just a regular woman that we can all identify, that is, until Austin walks back into her life. Not only does she find out that he’s a shifter but she also finds that she is. With the mystery of her parentage and various other catastrophes that she keeps falling into this story will get you hooked right to the end.
As shifter books goes, this is a full bodied one, and by that I mean the author has created a whole world with plenty of characters and each one has the potential to be a lead in the next book. It is a very exciting series to sink your teeth in.

Move over Twilight saga!
If you could sum up Seven Years in three words, what would they be?
Exciting, stimulating and funny.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Who wasn't would be a better question.
What does Nicole Poole bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
A voice to the character.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes many times..
Any additional comments?
The book should be made into a movie. Loved it! Just started book 2 which looks at two different characters in depth. Let you know how I get on. X

Okay-ish
This book was a bit of a mix for me. There were some parts I really enjoyed, but there were also parts that just really dragged. I also found the main female character quite annoying.
The narrator did a good job and I would happily listen to another book narrated by her.

Brilliant new series
If you could sum up Seven Years in three words, what would they be?
new twilight saga
Who was your favorite character and why?
I loved all the characters, they are in depth without being whiny and repetitive in their descriptions.
Which character – as performed by Nicole Poole – was your favourite?
Nicole Poole is fab. At first I thought 'wow, is she going t try and do all the voices different?' after a whiole you forget its even one person narrating the book.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I couldn't wait to keep listening, I got this book to help me settle to sleep at night and instead I ended up listening to it all the time!
Any additional comments?
Can't wait to keep reading the others in the series. Will be interesting to see if Nicole can keep up with all the different characters and do the same voices. Another fab series to hopefully get my teeth into and enjoy. I love my physical books, but have to say so far this is converting me into also being able to enjoy the world of audiobooks too!

Not a bad book but ...
This book has some great characteristics and an enjoyable storyline BUT the main character, Lexi, is as dumb as a box of frogs. As is her work colleague. The narrator has a lovely voice but not so great at some of the character voices.

Easy listening
This book is easy to listen to when trying to sleep at night which is what I bought it for. However the couple took to long to work out the other was into them, which if I had to read it myself I would have had to shake the to and would have made me lose interest.

It's a whole new world
This was the first of Dannika's books that I listened to. I found it easy to slip into this world of supernatural beings. Dannika has a talent for making the characters feel like someone you know, as though they are lounging around in your living room as they give lip to one another. And the books only get better.

***A soap opera***
if i like a soap opera type story than u wud love this one. heavy on the drama but hardly any actions a few suspenseful moments and the sexy scense barely exists. I am disappointed becauae i thought it wud be more like Suzanne Wright's books but not at all.
Nicole Poole she a food narrator but i don't like how she she portrays Austin. he sounds like a nerd.

Start of what looks to be a great series
This is the first book by this author I have read. And I really enjoyed it.
I am looking forward to the next books -- I'm definitely going to be getting them :)
My old negative it some of the voices were too alike and some grated on my nerves.
But the story was good and I loved the cheesy lines -- I had a sense of nostalgia like I almost felt like it was a book I read in my teen years tho I know I haven't.

Good listen!
The story was pretty good overall, engaging all the way through. The narration is excellent which can be hard to come by sometimes. Even though it’s a female narrator, the male voices were very well done. Keen to explore the other books in the series. Definitely recommend!

Couldn’t finish!
This book started off great, although I didn’t particularly love the voice. There are sO many plots going on in this book it’s hard to keep track and indeed the author seemed to loose track of her own characters. One minute they’re on the porch the next inside and alone, this happened multiple times. Extremely frustrating! I got sick of the male lead doing his ‘this is my pack and we take care of our own’ misogynistic crap. Which he says 4or 5 time’s in the book.
Oh and the voice over gave the same squicky voice to a main character as the 5year old girl.
I hung around for the sexy bits, but every time he got close to the main character she tried to run away. For a main character that seemed to be comfortable dating many people she was veRy prudish, which seemed to be in conflict with the description of the character.
In all, this book needed a better editor and much more time with the author. Very disappointing.
