Story
When a viral apocalypse kills 97 percent of the people on the planet, the survivors' humanity is hanging by a thread. Amid the leftovers of civilization, ex-Army Ranger Jason Larsen is reminded of the meaning of hope, family, and loyalty by a dog and a young boy who are as alone as he is. The survivors he seems to collect become family, and that is very bad news for those who think they run the apocalypse.

It wasn’t cheap of course, and everyone knew that new technology had bugs in it. But hey, why not let the rich be the guinea pigs for once? Really you chose that endding type
I had alot of the same problem I had with previous books has there is no warning to violent sexcual content that really disgusted me in the book that you should give it in the summary or say something like will be in the book. The secound problem was over reaction outer nations acted in that world, and my last was the slightly open endding type has doesn't slove the zombie but leaves it open to spread threw the world randomly.

Epic Conclusion
What an epic conclusion to this unique zombie story! Since this genre has become so popular, it is often hard to find books that have that little something special and unique. Brian Parker has definitely done that with this series.
After one zombie war, the United States is again facing decimation from the zombie hordes. Everyone thought that the zombies had been contained behind a wall surrounding Washington, DC. Then, a nuclear attack was supposed to have taken care of them. However, soon zombies start appearing in Philadelphia and other areas. Some have even made it to the Gulf of Mexico by water. Is there anything that can stop them?
This book follows several paths and alternate viewpoints of the fight against the zombies. A National Guard unit from New York is at the forefront of the fight and the story follows one of the leaders as they try to destroy the horde. Another group of survivors has been recruited to fight and the book details two as they fight to reach the man's daughter.
Then, we have retired CIA Operative Asher Hawke, AKA the Kestrel, as he attempts to find and kill the Master of the Zombies and revenge the deaths of those he loved.
There is plenty of zombie killing action, the obligatory villains (with graphic torture descriptions) and more as these characters try to save the world as they know it. I shed a few tears along the way as beloved characters met their untimely deaths.
The narrator, Andrew Wehrlen, did a great job and added a lot to my enjoyment of this book and the whole series. I was given the chance to listen to the audiobook version of this book by the author/publisher/narrator and chose to review it.

A solid finish
I thought it was a very good conclusion to the series.
The climax of the story was a bit fast for my taste, but to be honest, I cannot think of any other means at which it could have played out without harming the story and that is the only critical thing I can say about the story. It may also be related to that I may have missed it, and I truly think I did; as my son ran up and distracted me, but I feel as if the Master’s identity was alluded to but I couldn’t make the connection out.

It seems like that is the last book in the series, but I hope not. The series is a bit different in that the zombies don't immediately take over the whole world as in so many books. I think this allowed for some more interesting scenarios. Great stuff!

Perfect ending to the series
If you could sum up this book in three words, what would they be?
-Only 2 come to mind, perfect ending.
What other book might you compare this book to and why?
-Anything by Nicholas Sansbury Smith. Parker's story telling is very similar to Smith's.
Who was your overall favorite character and why?
-Asher.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
-Yes, but it took a few sittings. I did finish it in a day and a half though.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
-Yes! But they need to start with book 1. Because it's a great series.
Have you listened to any of Andrew B. Wehrlen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
-Yes, the first 2 books in this trilogy. He's great in all 3. I would love to listen to him again.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
-I may have gotten a little teary eyed there at the end.
Would you listen to this book again? Why?
-Yes, but after a year or so. Because it's a really good book.
What was one of the most memorable moments of this book?
-Asher going against the Leader.
Any additional comments?
-I hate to see the series end.

Decent wrap up of trilogy
I liked that the zombies are such a problem and there’s 3 kinds now, with hive-like communication and control. The US army isn’t ready for this! What a mess! Ash is still the main focus but we also get some new viewpoints like Maria and the people she ends up fighting with on the front lines.
Once again, the ladies are romantic interests and for the most part need protection and reassurance. For the series, the ladies are pretty interchangeable. Ash hooks up with his neighbor, Rachel, who is recently divorced. He really didn’t like her in the previous book and doesn’t seem to like her in this one until they wind up drunk in bed together. Tis ridiculous. Anyway, she gets fridged and that spurs Ash on to great heroics (which is pretty cliche).
I did like Ash’s big hunt and final personal battle. They have a nifty cure for being bitten now. Sometimes it’s called a vaccine and sometimes anti-venom, etc. My inner biologist cringes at the lack of precision or at least consistency in medical terms. 4/5 stars
Narration: Andrew B. Wehrlen’s pacing is still a little slow. Words are clear. The women sound like women for the most part. Good voice for Ash. Maria’s Cubano accent came and went and wasn’t very good. A few mispronounced words like ‘lithe’. No tech issues. 4/5 stars
I received a free copy of this book. My opinions are 100% my own.

You will never be forgotten.
The final conclusion to the Brian Parker zombie trilogy, again read by Andrew B.Wahrlen.
The zombies had escaped beyond the wall and were being marshalled by the strange and competent firsts, including the Leader and the Master of the Chosen. With nothing seemingly able to stop them, and with their newly acquired ability to travel through water, the hordes are increasing and expanding rapidly across the Americas whilst the rest of the world now deliberately shuns the continent.
As in the previous books, the action moves between different locations and individuals, some new and some met before, as they face up to their futures, probable deaths, their consciences and the loss of loved ones. Very well written and perfectly performed, fast paced and innovative, this is a book for every zombie genre reader
