Publisher's Summary

Ferrin is no ordinary blacksmith.

He is born with magic in a world where it’s not only feared, but outlawed. Struggling to keep food on the table, Ferrin decides to use his gift to aid in his work. That decision brings the Black Watch to his doorstep.

Caged alongside a helpless band of half-starved wielders, Ferrin formulates a strategy to escape. Armed with nothing more than his sarcastic wit and a determination to never give in, he attempts the impossible.

Left me wanting more.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. Tim Gerard Reynold’s performance was as good as any other that I’ve heard him do. I only deducted stars because I’m not a great fan of books that end in cliffhangers. I would have preferred some sort of closure even though I know that this is a prequel and there’s more to the story/series.

Enjoyable prequel.

Great for fans of the series. An enjoyable prequel showcasing some character background and author's/narrator's storytelling abilities, which are both top-notch.

This Wasn’t A Story

It was an advertisement crafted to draw readers in. I am not wild about thus kind of cynical subterfuge.

Bite sized

A nice intro into what will be no doubt a compelling full length book. Only got a taste of the elemental magic though.

Interest shackled

Just as the story was getting interesting the book ended. No explanation,no hint of a follow up,zip, nada, I really dislike books that leave you hanging!!!

Worth listening to

For such a short book, it feels very packed! You really begin loving the characters early on, and the narrator is one of my favorites

Awesome

A cracking little read from the Aldoran Chronicles, where magic is a crime, feared and outlawed across the lands, Our main protagonist Ferrin a Magic Weilder doesn't give a shit, with eyes and snitches everywhere, Ferrin has a little visit fro the Watch, with a little touch for violence, he won't go down with out a fight until they shackel him with a magic resistant collar, where he's going will be hell, you will love the main character, very dry sarcastic and witty, this little prequel is integral to the main story, so if interested, make sure you read this first, fantastic narrating from Tim Gerard Reynolds, gives it a great gravily feel to it, Welcome to White Tower, highly recommend..😁
