Publisher's Summary

Some secrets are better kept.

To Raegan Keyes, she's the only one of her kind, but has no idea what she is, until the night she finds out her unexplainable abilities aren't the only thing she needs to worry about. Suddenly, her world becomes much bigger than she ever could have dreamed.

When a mysterious man named Enzo arrives, too striking to be human, Raegan learns she's not as alone as she had believed. As more secrets are revealed, she's swept off to an academy for others like her thousands of miles away from home by a complete stranger whom she'd rather stab than travel with.

As tension builds between Raegan and Enzo, she begins to find her purpose as she settles into her new existence alongside elves, witches, vampires, and shifters. With a group of new friends, she's finally feeling alive again. That is until something sinister comes along, once more throwing her life into mayhem.

Amazing

I just love Raegan. She is so corky. I love the dynamics between her and the girls and the shock that is her love life. Amazing series.

I hate this

so you're "mate" is missing and you just accept it and stop looking? also he is supposed to be your mate? could have fooled me. she hardly seemed to care about him at all. I tried to stick it out but it just kept getting worse. I really wanted to like the story but the details were not good.

Excellent

This was such an excellent series. It kept me guessing and gave me whiplash on more than one occasion. It was well written and the narration was spot on. I loved listening to the various characters parts being played. Definitely a great audiobook and I 100% recommend it.

Great narrator. Good story. Way too much profanity and just lack of vocabulary. Profanity and stupid phrases were repeated over and over just as filler. Cuss words were used when none were needed. It could have been enjoyable if the author has tried to expand her basic vocabulary

It’s a decent listen.

I like the story line. I’m about halfway through. It is well written. The reader is good at her job. I will say that I grow tired of the predictable one person for the MC plot line. You instantly know who they will end up with. There’s no competition at the romance angle. It just makes that part of the subplot really boring and it’s a big part of the story. The forced drama to keep it interesting is just a result of pushing the character too quickly towards a single person. I will finish it, but I’ve grown a bit bored of the predictability of it all and I skip through most of it. The actual plot line is interesting, though. Definitely one of the better audible box sets I’ve listened to.

Shadow Veil Academy series

Raegan has been living a lie. After told her adopted parents weren't her parents and she actually has suppressed unexplainable abilities and has to go back to school to learn - she's not only sarcastic, cynical but ticked off at being lied to and no one is giving her a straight answer - and those that could are dead.

As Raegan attends the Academy she learns to slowly befriend people...people who don't want anything from her - As Raegan learns more about herself, she learns more about the paranormal world that is intertwined among the humans -

Raegan slowly begins to live and love again but also learns sometimes family is who you choose not who you're biologically associated to -

I enjoyed books 1 & 2 but book 3 was fantastic and tied things together - Yes there is a HEA but be warned....you might need a tissue

Different from other “Academy Series

Enjoyed this 3 book series. Good paranormal fantasy storyline. Action packed. Plenty of twists and turns. Good character development. Easy listening with great narration. Wish series could continue.
