Story
Riley has crossed the bridge into the afterlife - a place called Here, where time is always Now. She has picked up life where she left off when she was alive, living with her parents and dog in a nice house in a nice neighborhood. When she’s summoned before The Council, she learns that the afterlife isn’t just an eternity of leisure. She’s been assigned a job, Soul Catcher, and a teacher, Bodhi, a possibly cute, seemingly nerdy boy who’s definitely hiding something.

Natasha Clarke is an overlooked, too-snarky-for-her-own-good high school junior when she’s invited to Arcana, a mysterious nightclub. As she walks through the darkened rooms, admiring masked partygoers, gilded artwork, and clocks that tick backward, she comes across something startling: a tombstone with her name written on it. “To new beginnings,” says a gorgeous boy in a mask. When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder - much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. For there to be light, you must first suffer the darkness. The end came at me jagged and skewed like puzzle pieces to a game I didn't know I was playing. Iniquitous is the heart-pounding third installment in The Marked saga, a fast-paced YA paranormal romance that grapples with love, loss, and self-discovery in a unique supernatural world filled with vampires, witches, shifters, and angels.

I wouldn’t say my life is a dumpster fire — but it’s far from typical. I’m frenemies with the local werewolves’ Alpha, my clients are shady as hell, and my magic falls firmly in the WTF category. Mephisto, my mysterious and powerful client, is more interested in my magic than the jobs he’s hired me for. And I’m pretty sure my court-ordered therapist thinks I’m an ass.

Disappointing
I found this book sooo frustrating, it was a continuation from book two it yet still didn't wrap it up. It interduced so many new threads into the story and didn't answer even one of them by the end which ended very abruptly. Loved the first and second book but was very disappointed with this book. Praying the 4th book is better or Im done with this series.

I liked the first book more than most. The second book... well not so good- this one is a pass. I can't even finish it. There are holes in the plot that just make it unbearable. And there are going to be 5 of these!!

Disappointed
It was so long and drawn out. Tired of the lead character always getting it wrong. I mean we know life isn't perfect but within the whole story NOTHING ever went right, except in book one. Hope in the next 2 books that the book will speed up and have some happiness within. Hope that Ever finally gets something right.

Just get it over with already
I listened to the first book in the series and thought "It's no Vampire Academy or Twilight" but it's worth a listen.
I made it onto the second book and was totally frustrated with the way it ended and knew I had to read the third to see any resolution.
Now however, I wish I had never read or listened to any of them. Such a waste of time.
It's like Noel is prolonging our agoney for more book sales by adding new characters and conflicts for the main characters.
Really, do we need new conflict and problems when you have no resolution to the first two books?
The series has reached the point where you will no doubt be irritated and upset by the end of the series. She has only left the possibility of a very terrible ending. You know where everything is summed up in five short minutes after you listened for 50 hours. Just get it over with already and stop wasting our time.

Frustrated
Most of the book all I wanted to do was throttle Ever. You would think by the third book and all she had gone through, that she would have matured a bit. She doesn’t though, and I just found her to be really clueless. Not sure if I’ll read the 4th or not.

Nope. Still a dumb girl.
Where to begin? I've listened to the series so far - and I just keep hoping this girl will wise up. But, nope.
The narrator, while far from the worst ones I've heard, doesn't have a very wide range for the characters. The guys and girls all sound the same. That's disappointing.
But, my main deal killer is how Ever just continues to make the dumbest choices. Repeatedly. As if she figures out which choice is the absolute worst, and then picks that one. I prefer a girl who is a little more intelligent, badass, and independent. A lot less idiotic. So, sadly, I'm giving up on this series.

Still love the series
If you could sum up Shadowland in three words, what would they be?
Emtional, Enchanting and Entertaining
Who was your favorite character and why?
Don't have one
What does Katie Schorr bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Her way of bringing the characters to life.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Though I still love the series, I find myself getting really frustrated with Ever. I'm also not a fan of Haven.

Enjoyed it and waiting for the next book...
Enjoyed all of these books and looking forward to the next. The 1st one was a bit tedious to get through, but once entrenched in the story it becomes more enjoyable and more addicting. Not a 5-star, but worth the read if you seek a decent series.
Others I enjoyed are: Shifters (by Rachel Vincent), Need/Captivate (Carrie Jones), Sue Grafton (Kinsey series) and Jeanne C.Stein (Anna Strong.
