Publisher's Summary

You don’t choose the Academy. The Academy chooses you.

"Bold twist on a classic magical young-adult adventure." (Jaymin Eve, best-selling author of Supernatural Academy)

Broken, bruised, and battered beyond anything else, I’ve survived what I shouldn’t have.

But my day isn’t done yet. We finally have the key to stopping Frost - literally. Even if we don’t know how to use it.

One last time, my friends and I have to scour not only the city but the supernatural world to find the pieces of this final puzzle - and we have three days to do it.

One final showdown brings us back to where it all began, and I face off against the woman who killed my brother. Who hunted my mother down. Who broke my uncle’s spirit.

If I cannot find the final pieces, then I will fail. And if I fail, Frost wins, and we are all doomed.

No pressure.

No pressure at all.

Amazing finale

Honestly had a hard time putting to words what I wanted to say, the group dynamic was epic! How the last book turns full circle from the first is great. I love that characters are never forgotten. This was the absolute best ending to a series I could have asked for.
Wally is a world unto her own, she stands for everything you could desire in a best friend: fierce and loyal! Her power is the soft forgotten kind, sort of a wallflower, until you mess with her best and then BAM she surprises you.
Ethan’s ending was absolutely perfect, Wonderbread the Redeemer! I love to watch a character struggle with ingrained doctrination versus their own morals and when they finally figure it out it’s perfect.
And Nicholas…oh my words, that was possibly the best arc of the entire series, he’s the type of person you find yourself rooting for but really don’t want to. I’m glad I did!!

And the best part of all? Remember family is the most important thing in the world, and it doesn’t matter if it’s blood or built love it and cherish it

good

I enjoyed this series but as I have said in the other reviews on these books, I would not have even gotten to listen to them at a credit each bc they are just so short. the other books ended way more abruptly then this book did. I believe this is likely the last in the series. I did enjoy it, but it should have been 1 book... maybe 2.

What a Year!

Shannon Mayer brings you to the brink again and again in the final book of the Year of the Chameleon. In her typical fashion there are many twists and turns while Wilde and her crew seek the solution to their epic problems! I thoroughly enjoyed the overt and not so overt lessons that the author and characters have taught us throughout this series. They faced so many internal and external struggles that you can't help but relate to them.

Khristine Hvam does another superb job narrating!

I cannot wait to listen to the series again from beginning to end!

Freaking awesome book!

HOLY CATS! I was channeling Pete, there. Good grief. I wasn't sure how this series was going to wrap up.. on one hand, I hate it's ended. On the other, I know Shannon will bring us something new and just as fabulous.

Wilde and her crew go from one pickle to another and just as with each previous book... You can't trust any freaking body! haha. If you think they're going up, they go down. If you think they are going down, they go up. though, just to toss your mind into another sea of uncertainty, they sometimes go backwards. A wild ride just doesn't seem to do it justice.

This was a fabulous story. Equal parts intensity and doubt. Can they trust this person? No, but then can they trust this person? I thought I had it allllll figured out and then, I almost keeled over. LOL Shannon has a way of putting words together than have you on the edge of your seat. This book was no exception. I'm going to miss these characters! I see a series reread in my near future.

Pheweee

The final book and the final showdown and what a showdown it was!!

There are plenty of surprises along the way....again!!

It's an excellent read. Watching as the six friends all fight together and for each other, all to end in one huge culminating battle. But be warned....

Look out for Nicholas aka Shadowkiller as you'll be surprised, not once or even twice, as this guy is all over the place. Also be very aware of just who your family are!!

<pssst I guessed correctly about the major one, did you??>

Again we have Ms Khristine Hvam narrating the parts and to be honest, I'm going to really miss hearing her narrating the parts of this group of characters.

Certainly no one else would have done the job so well!!

Yes I know, back at the start i wasn't too sure, but you have to forgive the British person, who didn't realise that the Texan accent is a little slower as far as the speed of conversing goes.

I freely admit to that little ignorance there.

However Khristine did a fantastic job and I can't deny that I'm going to miss all these books and the audio!! Not that it really matters as I can read and listen to them dozens of times over!!

I'm a little disappointed at the ending of the book though. Surely there could have been a little more written about afterwards!! I feel as though the end was a little less thought of thing!!

No two weeks/months later?!!? Such a let down to be honest.

Do I recommend both book and audio?? Abso-bloody-lutely!!
