Collected together for the first time by author GC Rosenquist the ten newly unearthed stories detail the very earliest years of the Holmes/Watson partnership and shed a very different, personal and surprising light on their familiar relationship.

Holmes and Miss Adler had fallen in love at first sight, and she promptly moved in with Holmes and Watson at 221B Baker Street. In an effort to protect the delicate sensibilities of the British reading public, Watson explained her presence by referring to her as Mrs. Hudson, the housekeeper, even as Holmes and Adler combined forces to become a formidable detecting duo.

You are holding one of the rare stories to come to light involving "Sigerson", the name Sherlock Holmes went by during the years when the world thought he was dead. This story also has the distinction of being the true first sequel to Horace Holly's She, published in 1887 under the byline of Holly's agent, H. Rider Haggard. The only heretofore known sequel, Ayesha: The Return of She, was published in 1904 and records events that occurred two decades after She. Sherlock Holmes said that Mary Morstan might have been most useful in detective work if she had only remained single. She had a decided genius. So, bored with staying at home while her husband is away helping Holmes catch criminals, Dr. Watson's wife decides to have a go at the game herself. In this she is ably assisted by her friend Emily Fanshaw, who likes to play a transvestite role occasionally. 

In the year 1903 - the exact moment is now lost to history - Sherlock Holmes proclaimed to the world he was quitting England's Capital to go into retirement on a small, wind-swept farm in the Sussex South Downs. His shocked comrade-in-arms Dr. John H. Watson was later to write, "The decision took me utterly by surprise. I thought I had become an institution around Holmes, like his Stradivarius, or the old, oily black clay pipe and his index books."
