Publisher's Summary

A Sherlock Holmes fan for most of her life, Gayle Lange Puhl has collected in this volume her latest stories and studies on the Great Detective. Included here are her well-reviewed “Colonel Warburton’s Madness” and “The Blood-Splattered Bridge”, plus other entertaining adventures. Essays on various Sherlockian subjects are also covered. Notable among them are the history of the real Criterion Bar and the contents of the Agra Treasure box. Discover the importance of pigs in the canon (it is more than bacon!). Join in the fun of linking actor Wiliam Gillette, the first filmed Holmes, to today’s BBC Sherlock’s Benedict Cumberbatch.

Gayle Lange Puhl, ASH, is a past solitary typist of The Criterion Bar Association and the founder of two Sherlock Holmes scions. She has been published in The Baker Street Journal, The Devon County Chronicle, and The Serpentine Muse, the magazine of the Adventuresses of Sherlock Holmes.

Wonderful treasury of stories!

Sherlockian Stories and Studies by Gayle Lange Puhl is a treasure trove. A variety of stories and essays were entertaining and thought provoking. I enjoyed The Case of the Refurbished Room (2 favorites meet!), Colonel Warburton's Madness were my favorite stories. I loved the essay It's a Small Sherlockian World After All, reminding readers the depth and breadth of Sherlock Holmes in the arts and entertainment world. The narration by Michael Langan was outstanding! He used many different voices and accents to distinguish the characters. His performance was the perfect enhancement to this wonderful collection!

Excellent

Oh, there is so much material in here! There are some truly wonderful short stories (Colonel Warburton's Madness and The Case of the Cursed Clock being my favourites) , essays (Sherlock Holmes is Like A Folk Tale Character is just.. perfect!), the Criterion's story and there is even a section (It's a Small Sherlockian World After All) in which I was deeply surprised seeing all those crossing paths :P

The short stories are really good, with great plot and voices and the essays are superb. Entertaining, informative and clever, a necessary read for all those who love Holmes and Watson :D

And Michael Lang's narration is excellent.
