Story
Levitt and co-author Stephen J. Dubner show that economics is, at root, the study of incentives: how people get what they want, or need, especially when other people want or need the same thing. In Freakonomics, they explore the hidden side of...well, everything. The inner working of a crack gang...the truth about real-estate agents...the secrets of the Klu Klux Klan. What unites all these stories is a belief that the modern world is even more intriguing than we think. All it takes is a new way of looking, and Freakonomics will redefine the way we view the modern world.

Amazing !!
For someone who doesn’t normally enjoy audiobooks, this was amazing. I’ve been extremely busy lately and I haven’t had much time to sit down and read a textbook so to have this audiobook was great. The chapters were great and full of information, the narrator was really good too, their voice wasn’t irritating but instead nice to to listen to. With this audiobook, despite not having much time, I managed to keep up with my korean studies ! 100% recommend for everyone, even if you don’t enjoy audiobooks :)

Easy and straightforward way to learn Korean
I’m someone who doesnt normally like learning languages, but this was recommended to me cuz its not like a dense complicated grammar book. I like how its packed with phrases that are modern and that i would actually use. My favourite chapter is the one for eating out as that’s usually where I’m most likely going to use Korean.
I like having it playing in the background to just listen to more Korean, but I would recommend sitting down with the text as well to really listen, absorb & learn. Maybe play it at a slower speed too to really hear the words and follow along :)

Studying Korean Without Actually Studying
This book is great for learning Korean used in everyday speech. What I especially liked is how the phrases are broken down into its meaningful parts for immediate understanding. I found myself learning how sentences are structured without actively studying grammar which is something that hinders me when studying a language. Listening to the audio while following along with the paperback book is pretty fun and even kind of therapeutic, definitely doesn’t feel like studying!
The phrases are also unlike those in other Korean learning books. It features modern references to Korean pop culture but also phrases one would use in various situations like at school, work, with friends, at a restaurant, travelling & even the pandemic.
Giving this a 5 star all around as it’s definitely a refreshing yet effective way of learning!
